I hadn't thought of that Black Ops - my last purchase was on Dec 23...(I verified that day would count), and they did say they would ship in the order purchases qualified one (or something like that). So if that is the case, they may just have a back log. ATXBLA - did your last qualifying purchase happen to be toward the end of the promotion? If so, then yeah, we're probably just down on the list (I wonder how much of a response they got?).
Like I said, I wasn't trying to be a complainer or a pest, just always impatient as a Pylean Porcupinocerous to get my Buffy/Angel Figures. It's like one thing in life that brings me pure joy (well, that and the fact my escaped kitten came back home last night!). So in the scheme of things - ActionFigure=not a huge deal, pets/friends/family/life stuff = what I should really be focusing on.
And I learned that important life lesson right here on BTVS!!! How 'bout that! Haha! :-)

How 'bout that! Haha! :-) See, I've eliminated pets/friends/family/life stuff so I can focus on Buffy collecting. Kidding, of course, though one of the reasons I've held off on getting a cat is I'm afraid it'll jump on my shelves and knock everything over, just like my family's cats did at my parents' house.

Okay, so if Black Ops is right about the purchase order being the key, then ATX should get his Spike first, then Black Ops, then Me (I hate being last...but as long as I get him).:-)
And Black Ops, about cats and figures (or anything they aren't *supposed* to chew/play/bite/bat around) - oh yeah, they'll knock over anything you go to any length to setup on your shelves. I think they watch you do it and decide if you spend that much time and attention on it as opposed to them, then it must die. My kitties enjoy knocking off the figures one by one, pausing to watch each one fall to the floor, observing it to see if it moves (which would provoke a further attack), then going on to the next one and doing the same thing. My one kitty enjoys chewing *just* the weapons they may be holding. Of course I love them too much to discipline them (I mean anyone who has a cat knows leaving anything out makes it fair game - doing anything to your cat for being a cat just means you're not a good "kitty proofer" since it's been shown that discipline served up after even a few seconds between the event and the whoopin/yell/waterbottlesquirt is just taken as an unprovoked attack from their owner), thus I have some wicked-looking weapons that are even more painful looking due to their feline modifications <grin>. And though I don't have proof, I swear my newest kitten (the first male I've ever had - a cute little gray stray kitty that would come with his mother to eat outside my apartment (yep, I'm one of those saps that leaves food out for the hungry little neighborhood strays) and eventually adopted me. :-) Anyway, I think he peed on the bag I keep my figures in that aren't currently on display! Either that or I made a major drunken mistake myself... <grin>. Anyway, it's time to get him spayed anyway so I guess it's possible he was 'marking' his territory...or trying to show daddy something about how he feels toward those attention grabbers... :-) Sorry for getting off on the Meow Meow Tangent. :-) Anyway, everyone report here when you've received your Spike (and if other people than have already posted dates/etc, post the date of your *final* qualifying purchase if you don't mind and when you rec'd him). Maybe we'll get an idea of when we can expect ours!

I have four cats and they don't bother my figures. I have wall shelves that they would have a hard time getting too and if they could wouldn't find too comfortable seing how they are only 4 to 5 inches wide.
I got mine two days after I put a order in, but I made a $70 order the day you could.

Actually, my 3 cats that I have had for 15, 10 and 10 years are pretty good kitties, spoiled as they are. But new baby kitten (my first male - and boy is he a change from the females - or maybe it's just been so long since I had kittens that I don't remember how much work they are!) and he will get into anything that is remotely possible for him to reach. Luckily, he hasn't bothered them on their new shelves - I guess he got tied of attacking Bunny Anya (which to be fair, her head piece does resemble his mousey toys) and some of the other ones (Spike w/ the coat and Dru - oddly enough, were two of his favorites!).
Anyway, to the topic at hand, I still have heard nothing from DST nor received my Spike. Anyone else that hadn't got theirs, get him yet? I'm going to email them again tomorrow. Surely by now the holiday rush is well enough over to get a response!
And of course if they are out of Spikes, I'd be happy with a Holiday Willow for a substitute! <grin>

I just e-mailed them and I'm hoping for a response in the next couple of days. I think we've all waited long enough for this figure (thankfully, I already have mine from the BCC... they rule).

Okay, I'm starting to get really miffed here. I sent a nice, "just checking" email early last week - and STILL no response! What's the deal DST? That's FOUR inquiries to them since last December and absolutely nothing in response. Now, I don't want to badmouth them - obviously I love their products, etc, but how hard is it to jot down and email and say "Hey, demand was greater than we anticpated, and we are awaiting new Spike Special Editions to be manufactured. We apologize for the delay." How freakin' difficult is that??? I really feel like they are purposefully ignoring the topic. That maybe they are out of Spikes and aren't going to get anymore, and are hoping that we just forget about him. Okay, so maybe I don't *really* think that but it is ridiculous that NONE of us have gotten any replies! (assuming BlackOps, etc haven't gotten a response). Is there any alternate way to reach them? Phone, etc? I'm half temoted to send an email asking something else like "Do you have this or that in stock" and see if they reply to that. It's just really bad customer service to totally ignore multiple inquiries! Like I said, I truly hate badmouthing them, but I don;t think a legitimate gripe about no response for a product ordered (or rather the terms for it being met) over a month ago qualifies as badmouthing per se. I just want to know what's up. If they did exhaust their supply (and I can't remember for sure if they said it was limited quantities or what - anyone remember?), then I wish they'd just say so and offer something in its place. I mean it's not like he'd be hard to customize anyway and be virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, but it's the principal of being ignored! I'm a good customer, I have bought tons of figures from DST and their partners, etc, and do quite a bit of promotional and word of mouth advertising on their behalf. Of course, they have no way of knowing this (apart from the fact that I did meet the terms of their guideliness to get this special figure), but regardless, ignoring requests for status, etc are just bad business. And on top of that, I feel guilty for voicing my frutsrations, like I'm being a real jerk for bringing this up on the boards, etc, I want to be the model customer, and by stating my irritants online I'm afraid I'll get labelled a bad customer or a trouble maker or something (yeah, I'm paranoid, but at the same time I really don't want them to think I'm slamming them or anything - I just want a response!!!). :-) Come on DST, I totally dig you guys, and I'm not even bitching that I haven't gotten him yet, I'm just wanting a response to know what's up? Is that so bad?

Tricky goose they are... I bet they are screening all emails with 'FFL Spike' in the title... I bet they are out, which is kind of up setting. I mean, if they were out, and wern't getting any more, people would understand, I mean, if they were nice and said "sorry" and all, but just screening emails is kind of... well childish...
I would go with sending another email asking something random else, and tagging in "and Spike?" and see if you get anything.

Definitely send an email that has nothing to do with spike (don't even mention him in it) and see if they reply to it. If they do, you know they're avoiding all questions spike.

At this point, every toy company is ramping up for Toy Fair. I doubt you'll get much of a response for a few weeks... It's possible, but expect delays for the next month when it comes to anything involving toys.

I just got a response from DST. Here's what it says:
Hey Adam! Due to a high damage ratio, we exhausted our supply of promotional Spikes and had to wait to be re-supplied. We did receive extra figures late last week and have since shipped out your Fool for Love Spike Figure. You should be receiving your figure sometime this week. Let me know if you don't receive this by the end of the week. Thanks, Chris
Hopefully this means good news for all of us waiting for this figure

I'm sorry to hear that a lot of you had problems with getting your Spike figures. I hope that the shipment that was received means that you will all get your Spikes soon. I for one love the figure and even though it was a minor change from the original it was still a nice addition. As for DST doing this in the future I'd love to see it done with other characters, Vamp Buffy w/jacket would be a really great figure, as would Glory with her ceremonial garb over her clothes.

I can't wait to get my Spikey! It's a nice little "fix" until the Buffy/Dawn/Glory/Joyce/PromAngel set comes along and just totally pulls me under the Sunnydale Quicksand, kicking and screaming with joyous abandon, of course! :-)
I'm all for "Kit Bashed" figure variants. They are far more exciting than mere repaints - though a Kit Bashed Repaint would totally rock!!! :-) Personally however, I'd rather it just be offered straight up to purchase rather than being soley a promo for buying a certain amount - but offering it as a promo for buying so much AND as a standalone figure (perhaps at a slightly higher price and/or as a signed figure for those who like that sort of thing, etc would give fans the option to get any such figures into one's collection. I know that since I decided to become a completist I've gotten really frustrated by Holiday Willow (i.e. I remember DST saying they frowned upon fans putting special "Thank you" figures like World Tour Willow, etc up on eBay, but yet that's the only way I'm probably going to be able to get her! So I wish there was some committment on DST's part to ensure every figure is made available for purchase to everyone who wants have at least one of every figure represented in his or her collection. Anything else is just frustrating and I think probably discourages more people becoming completists. And don't get me wrong - I absolutely LOVE DST for the beyond-any-other-company's excellent free figures that they have sent us - that absolutely rocks more than I can possibly say here. But every cloud has a Triangle Tara, and so I feel for the European Fans and other fans who for one reason or another was unable to get the figures. So I personally would be happy if freebies were indeed sent to the Radicals Members - AND- the figure was offered for sale for those who couldn't get it otherwise. Obviously some people would still complain and feel justifiably like they got short changed by having to buy it when others get it free - but my point being than being that it''s better to be able to get the figure (and without paying scalper eBay prices!) on the up and up than never being able to get it at all! Anyway, I truly hope this post doesn't seem like I'm complaining 'cause I truly am not and think DST is absolutely the coolest and most fan-friendly company ever, as the free figures more than proves. But the "stand up for the underdog" part of me, backed up by the completist in me, makes me feel it necessary to suggest the alternate methods of achieving the same thing. Does it cheapen the free figures given to the Radicals? Not at all! We'd still get awesome figures for free (and perhaps even first or some other manner to make people want to be Radicals). But for the European Fans and Completists, and even late joiners to the Radicals, there would still be the way to achieve a Complete Collection of DST's wonderful Figures, without resorting to eBay extravagant and - let's face it - absolute rip off prices by taking something received for FREE as thank you and selling it not only for a reasonable price, but a price that gets jacked up due to its rarity. It just goes to show how desperate some fans are to have complete collections that such prices ever reach the height they do.
Wow, didn't mean to get on a soapbox, and again I want to make certain that no one thinks I'm complaining about DST. I truly beleive they do some fairly freakin COOL and AWESOME things for their fans, and as someone who has received most of the freebie figures, I am speaking for the underdog (of course, I am somewhat doing it for myself since I did not get the Holiday Willow - stated in the interest of full disclosure <grin>), but in the interest of being totally fair, I think there are alternate methods which ultimately still gets nifty rewards to the fans, but doesn't mean that someone doesn't have a chance of getting the figures just because they happen to live in Oera Linda land, joined too late, or refuses to pay scalper fare on eBay. :-) (and I apologize beforehand as I am way too tired to proofread this post right now - long night last night, maybe I'll proof it tomorrow but hopefully the point came across! :-) And those still waiting please post when you receive your Spikes! :-)

NewtonDKC- totally agree with you. I'd have no problem if DST sent free figures to people in the usa and then offered them for sale to overseas (or over-border) fans. My gripe wasn't that i didn't get a free willow, it was that i didn't even have the opportunity to get it (same goes for the spike and LOTP Lorne).
Did DST really say they don't like people putting the free figures up on ebay? I love ebay!! The figures may cost a fortune on there, but at least we get the choice to buy them.
So, yeah, they should still do the free figures, but ideally they'd also offer them for sale to fans outside the usa. Or even do what sideshow did for their comic-con exclusives, and that's set a certain amount aside and have a lottery for those wishing to get one. At least we'd have a chance to own one.

Browncoat, I am almost 100% for sure I read that DST didn't like (or maybe it was more like 'didn't appreciate' maybe) that fans took their free gift figures and put them on eBay. I think it was when WTWillow was sent out. I can't be the only one who remembers this (well, assuming I didn't dream it or some other hallucination-like manner <grin>) the implication being if they found someone doing this, they wouldn't send that person further promo figures. I remember that I was all paranoid that maybe they had gotten my screen name (which is the same on here as my ebay one - I pretty much use it universally" mixed up for someone who had sold their Willow and that's why I hadn't yet gotten one. But of course I really was just being paranoid (like usual) and my WTW came pretty soon after that. That's when I realized DST was absolutely a company like no other, and really cared about their fans and were nice beyond belief! To send a free figure (AND cover shipping costs) - not only a FREE FIGURE but a figure that you couldn't get anywhere else! They made us all instant collector celebs nad it was great! (and please don't think I'm gloating to those who didn't get one or lives over seas, etc - trust me, I know what that feels like and it's awful, and I really hope that DST someday and somehow offers all figures for sale for reasonable prices so those of us who reaally want complete collections, or for those who particularly liked one or more of the "Special Ones" (and who wouldn't want Triangle Tara with that snazzy outfit (if she would count even then!), a cute little set of WillfullWillow's :-), the Day Glo Spikey who lit up when a flashlight was put under him, and so on)).
You truly are the awesomest Company EVER DST, and your fans love you (not just because you sent us free figures, but because you even thought of doing such a thing!!!! Just amazing!!!! Thank you, and keep the waves of excellent Heroines, Heroes, BadVamps, and everything in between. We love you, we love the figures, and can't wait for the new additions!!! :-) Thanks!!! :-) NewtonDKC :-)

Hey, did anybody actually get their Spike yet? I still haven't got mine, and I was really hoping to have gotten him today (Friday) at the latest so I'd have the weekend to play with hi- I mean to add him into my collection, etc <heh heh, kidding, yeah, I was going to do whatever it is I do with them and it's an adult version of "playing" I guess - just compare him to other figures, roll him into my display, etc. But still not here!!! If he was sent late last week, then surely he'd be gere by now...I'll email DST back and see if they can tell me what address they sent it to. Oh - those of you who have gotten him before, I know he comes in just a baggy for his package, but what sort of box does he ship in? Is it a smalll mailer box like the previous figures? Basically I'm just wondering if he will fit in my mailbox, or if it may be something the Rental Office would get? If anyone remembers how big his shipping box was/is, please post so I know where to look for him! Thanks for any info!!!! :-) :-)
