I got my June Toyfare today and there is an article about the upcoming Battlestar Galactica figures. The official line-up for series 1 is finally known and it comes straight from Chuck at DST. "Apollo and Red Dress Six are the regular case for the first assortment, with Hot Dog being the short-packed figure. Six in a black dress is the Previews Exclusive, Chief is a DST exclusive, Helo is an Action Figure Express exclusive, and Anders is a Suncoast/FYE exclusive". As for accessories, it says there will be flight helmets, a lighter for Apollo, a cigar for Apollo, a wrench for Chief and cards for Hot Dog. Some of the pilots will also include swappable, gloved hands. There are also going to be variants of the main characters but they will be spaced out. It also says that as of now the only character being done with a computer scan is Chief. I guess they're waiting to get scans from the cast. They are hoping to have wave 1 of 3 ready by August.

BigBadToyStore.com has just added the series 1 core figures to their store. There are pics of Six, Apollo, Hot Dog, and Six in black pants.

I'm holding off on placing any preorders until we see how the exclusives will be sold. For all we know, Action Figure Xpress might only sell their exclusive Helo in a set, for instance. Or the Diamond Select Toys exclusive Chief might only be available in a set... Or the short-packed Hot Dog might only be available in a set...
We know the Previews Exclusive Caprica Six should be available since "Previews Exclusive" means "sold everywhere", but largely we're in the dark here until all the retailers chime in with how they're planning to fight.

Caprica Six looks pretty good.
Not sure on this line as a whole though. I'll have to wait and see how all the exclusives are distributed in international markets.
Thanks for the updates.
Cheers, Haeph.

I didn't even know they were making any other BG busts other than the Cylon Centurion... It's not great though, her head is HUGE! There is also a version of Six that comes in the red dress and is an AFX exclusive, due in October. There is also going to be a bust of Baltar or half of Baltar sitting in a chair. Not sure where to get him yet. I just noticed that in Chuck's interview he states that the Previews exclusive of Caprica Six was in a black dress. He must have meant to say "Black pants". The likeness on the caprica Six seems to be much better than the original prototype we've seen. At the time of the interview, it is stated that so far, Chief was the only one that they had a head scan for. It looks like the caprica Six may also have gotten one. All the bodies and accessories are all free sculpted with only the heads getting scanned. I also cannot wait to pit my red dress Six against red dress Glory and black outfit Caprica against black outfit Glory. What a coincidence. They each are blondes that get 2 figures with very similar outfits.

Helo is now available for pre-order at AFX. He is available individually as well as in a set.

Ditto on what SlayerLover says. In more detail for those too lazy to click:
It is true that a couple other dealers started offering pre-orders a couple days ago, but only AFX includes Helo (Boomer’s co-pilot, stranded on Cylon-occupied Caprica, you know the deal). So for a grand total of about $70 after shipping, you’ll get these 5 figures:
* Number Six (Red Dress) * Lee “Apollo” Adama (Flight Suit) * Helo (Action Figure Xpress Exclusive) * Hotdog (Flight Suit) (short packed figure) * Number Six (Caprica Six) (Previews Exclusive in black outfit)
After that, all you’ll need to find to complete your first wave is to stay alert for ways to locate the following two figures:
* Samuel Anders (Suncoast/FYE Exclusive) UPDATE: Also @ BigBadToyStore.com * Chief Tyrol (DST Store Exclusive)

Thanks! Thank goodness it won't be a Suncoast video store exclusive. But on the other hand, here's another figure with only a slight resemblance to the character. I might actually pass on this... except there might be some neat accessory unique to him, so, I'll buy. Update: Nah, I can't bring myself to do it. It's just a guy with Hulk arms. I haven't seen season 3 of Galactica yet, so perhaps after I do I will be so fond of the character that I'll be kicking myself for not buying this, but, I'm going to pass on this particular one.

I agree that Helo and Sam don't have very good resemblances, but I am hoping that they are just prototypes and will later have the heads replaced with ones made from computer scans. In an interview with Chuck T at DST, he stated that so far only Chief was done using a scan and that the others would be done as soon as they could get the actors scanned. To me, the Sam figure sort of looks like Col. Sheppard from Stargate: Atlantis.

I am really disappointed with this series of figures. I love, love, LOVE BSG but the likenesses are just too far off. I though Tyrol was Lee in the first photos. The shots coming to light now are not giving me anymore faith. Such a shama as I love the SG-1 figures which, although not as close as I'd like, have much better likenesses.
