Nice work, Willfan. She looks interesting and the sculpt is very clean.
We really need to see a reference photo to make any kind of comment. It's not an ideal solution, but why don't you just take a photo of her in the comic itself?

I just read that issue...I think she looks really good thus far and that was a good choice for a base figure. The face is very abigail. Can't wait to see her green hair.

I've been working on my Serenity collection for an while, so with this challenge I thought it would be a good time to post them. Any feedback or ideas gratefully received! Inara Kaylee River Zoe For anyone who hasn't seen the film, costume references are below (photos from http://www.propstore.com)

KittyPryde, Your serenity customs are just lovely! I love all the artistic accents like the beads on Inara and all the little repaint details. Wonderful job!

Wow, all of these customs are looking great! Nice array of characters, and they all have that uniqueness about them, it's not just the same custom being repeated, like I had thought. I particularly like everyone's Kaylees My two entires for this challenge should be finished reasonably shortly, just neatening up the hair on both.

Wow, Kittypryde those are stunning. I really like the paige head for river...i might just steal that idea. The zoe is also a really nice likeness...what head is that? I don't think her pants are meant to be white though..they were definitely tan in the film. The sculpting on these looks really smooth and professioonal. And the paintjobs are top notch. I think Inara could use some more hair though..it might be the angle of the photo but her head looks sort of chopped off. But seriously, these are great.

Thanks for the kind comments and ideas! Zoe's pants are pale blue in person - I tried tan but the paints I had just ended up looking like the flesh tone on the other characters, which looked very strange! Zoe is made from a Sin City Gail, with a few modifications to reduce the height from 7 inch to 6 inch scale - the feet came from LotR Eowyn. Inara is suffering from a strange angle, most of the hair is scooped back, but I think she might benefit from a new hairstyle!

KittyPryde- Excellent figures! Rivers outfit is perfectly done, Kaylee has great detail, and Zoe has an amazing likeness (any chance we could get a group shot to be able to see the scale adjustments?). Wonderful Job. Alright, well I finally finished Agent Brand (sadly, my last custom of the summer ). I found that to get the comic book look right, I really had to alter my painting style a little bit. I outlined a lot of stuff in black or a darker color , and tried to keep things clean. I painted a lot of shiney lines on the green spaces to keep her from looking flat. Anyway, for those not familiar with Astonishing (shame on you!), here's my references (shes' obviously the one with green hair): And here's the figure (had TONS of trouble getting good pics cause it was night, but it was my last chance): (horrible flash picture, sorry, but it shows the facial detail a little better)

Wow. I can't beleive I haven't commented. I'm SO impressed by everyone's, but don't have time to say how wonderful all of them are. Anyone who posted a custom here, give yourself a big pat on the back!!!

I have finished Inara...I guess. I am not totally happy with her but I am burnt out. I can't work on her any more! I will re paint her dress eventually but as far as this challenge is concerned, she is done! Sorry about the crappy picture but my camera is being stupid and it is dark out and we all know that never helps. Here is a group shot of all my figures from Serenity! I love the way they look together! I just need to find a spot to put them now!

Gamling, I love your version of River - where is the head from, it's a good choice for her.

Gamling, I love your version of River - where is the head from, it's a good choice for her. Thanks, head's a bit obscure. It's from a Disneystore Exclusive Chronicles of Narnia Susan. I was pretty excited when I found it because I had been looking for a decent river head without success.

I wanted to add another custom to the challenge before it ended. This is Zoe from Serenity. She was a commission. This is her near the end of the movie at Wash's funeral. She's holding a black candle and I gave her a sadden expression like in the scene.

She's gorgeous, Shondra. Great use of parts and lovely sculpt and paint. Nice likeness for Zoe too. Would you like to include her in the contest. It's not too late, if we put her in today.
Thanks for reducing your banner size.
