So I have begun the process of returning the Willows (Vamp and Reg- don't want one if I don't have both).
It is all to do with the face but my final decision, you know the one that leaves you with no regrets, was when I looked at regular Willow's feet...
Her feet are HUGE.

I though it was just me, when I looked at her feet and thought that they were too big. Willow should definately have smaller feet. it's like they put men's feet on her body. I really wish that she would've looked exactly like the prototype, it would've made the figure perfect. Hopefully they redo Willow in the future, base her on a later season and do a much better job than they did with this figure.

Well I can't say I'm as disappointed as most of you. Her face is off, but not as nearly as poor as Faith's sculpt. I adore the outfit, and love the backpack and especially Amy. Overall I'm pleased, and can live with the fact her face is a bit off.

i didnt preorder her cause the backpack just didnt excite me but I'm kinda worried that everyone is complaining. I hope PG Buffy turns out ok, I remember the exclusive's prototype looked like shit and since the figures are coming out looking worse than the prototype, I'm really nervous about that one.

I was very upset when I first saw mine and was tempted to return her but I didn't. I have actually grown to like her quite a bit. I'm not loving her but I like her well enough that I'm glad I didn't return her. Yes, the face is off and it looks like it was a molding mistake and not, most likely, how the original sculpt was supposed to look. But she does look like Willow to me and I'm just trying to imagine that Willow was caught off guard and that's why her face has an odd expression on it. The hair and the outfit are perfect. I feel you can recognize that it is AH whereas with the Faith figure I see no recognition to ED at all. If the facial expression wasn't a little off on one side I think she would've been perfect.
So I am happy that I gave myself time to get used to her and didn't just immediately send her back to Sideshow. I'd suggest that for everyone to wait at least a few days and keep looking at her and see if your feelings change.

I dont think she looks too bad. I dont see Allison though. I agree she looks like she is about 40. I am still glad I have one ordered though the outfit is so cute!

From the comparison pic it looked to me like the person who posted it (sorry, don't remember who!) took the picture of their own figure in more shadow. The studio pictures are very carefully-lighted. I think the pic was intended to show the shape of the final Willow's face vs. the shape of the preproduction sample, and her hair just appears dark because it's shadowed.

I posted the comparison pic, it isn't my picture though... MrBergstrom took it, so all credit goes to him. I just used it to proof that the figure isn't the same But yeah, i posted it to show the difference in the face shape, i think the hair is just the same colour

I actually got to see Willow in person yesterday for the first time at a local comic shop. She looked awful in the pictures I've seen, but I gotta say...
Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think she looked so bad at all up close. Maybe the face isn't dead-on, but she looked fine to me. I'd even consider buying her to stand beside my Buffy, in fact.
Now, that PG Buffy on the other hand, well...I dunno if that thing is gonna look better close up or not.

I got Willow, Excl. PG Buffy and Vamp Spike today, all in one box, and, umm...
Well, I really like Vamp Spike, although his left eye is higher than his right.
And, well, Sideshow Faith is now looking better and better sitting on my shelf. Because she's no longer my worst figure. Willow is far worse, IMO, and that's saying a lot. I'm seriously considering cutting and pasting together a tiny brown paper bag to put over Willow's face. **looks at her again** Or two. That Willow's definitely a double-bagger.
One thing that I notice that's wrong with her nose, other than being way too big, is that it doesn't have the ridge/dimple underneath, right in the center. My nose has that, just like Alyson's, but it's not part of the sculpt, which makes her nose look less button-like. And the shape of her upper lip looks slightly ducklike, like Willow's had a bad collagen injection. But other than that, there's no one specific thing I can point to that's wrong, but there's absolutely nothing I can point to as being actually correct, either. It looks like it could be the face of a much older sister of Willow's, but not Willow herself.
Plus, at least four joints (left bicep, right elbow, and both ankles) are completely loose, to the point that you can spin the joint around just by blowing air on it. I might find more loose joints if I remove her costume to swap with Vamp Willow's.
Well, at least with the inclusion of Amy the Rat, Vamp Spike and Vamp Angel have some lunch to sink their fangs into.

I too was very disapointed when I got my Willow figure. The face and the nose are way too long. I was looking forward to getting this figure since it's my 8th from Sideshow and the only one who wasn't dressed in either black, red or white. A little color for my collection. I'm still going to display her even though I'm not entirely satisfied with her. It costs way too much to not to. Since I live in Canada the shipping costs are really high and I have to pay fares to Fedex too. I just hope the other figures are gonna be better looking. Here's hoping!

Alright I think I have found some reasons why Willow's poor face is looking not too good. IF you cover the right side of her face the left side looks pretty good. I think most of the "OLD LOOKING" reason is because of her right side of her face. It looks off like if she was morphing into an older person. Her nose is another big probably because it is way too long. It should have been shorter and round, not pointy. Also, her face is a little too long it should have been a little more round. Her cheeks are flat, they should be more round as well.
It seems like everything from her nose and face went from round to long. But, do check out what I am trying to say about the left and right side of her face. I think most of you will see what I mean. Plus, I just ended up buying another one, lol, yes.. I know I just love Willow way too much..

AchtungLemon, I can completely understand why you would still want her. She has grown on me, flaws and all, and I feel a lot of affection for her. I'm very glad I kept her and didn't send her back. Yes, Sideshow should admit they screwed up with this figure but I'll still cherish her like I do the rest of my figures (well, accept for Faith). I am just pretending that she is making a funny face in reaction to something she heard or saw!
And I agree with your observations about covering part of her face. It does seem to me that something really got screwed up in the molding process and that's why one side is really off.

AchtungLemon-you are right her face is totally crooked. I cant say how much Willow sucks-OK the crooked thing-she looks like she is about 80-and I cant figure the other problem with her eyes-plus nise even her mouth is wrong-Faith looks good! and her feet are the same size as Spike (with her shoes on)I really hope they re-do Willow (and Faith too) at a discount. Totally not worth what I paid Plus Side-perfect perfect outfit. IDEA
Maybe if we "ban together" we could get Sideshow to give a replacement head-it would be much less costly for them instead of a remake. Last year Robert Tonner (if anyone collects Tyler you know this) released "Ice Blue" Sydney-with wonkee eyes-and when everyone complained R.Tonner asked everyone to send her back and replaced Syd's head with a good head. I thinkwe would have a better chance that way then getting an entire new figure-anyway just a thought.
