Hmm.. i'd say she's 50/50. From the side, she looks okay, but from the front.. something's definitely off. Ahh well, maybe it'll look lsightly better in person. Her outfit is spot on, though!

I didnt intend to buy this figure, but after seeing those photos....whoa! Id rethink buying any sideshow figure based on prototypes pics! Thats a terrible sculpt. I can see no resemblence to Alyson AT ALL. Its a shame

Personally I think this feels almost like a bait and switch type of thing. They show us a figure with a great likeness and then everyone orders it and we get a figure that looks nothing like the original or like the one displayed at the Toy Fair.
And the difference with this figure and the Faith figure is that Faith looked like her prototype so you knew what you were getting.
I haven't received mine yet but I'm really upset at how bad she looks in the pictures. It looks nothing like AH and it looks nothing like the sweet prototype that is still being shown on Sideshows website.
My plan is if it is as bad as these pictures show it to be I'm going to contact Sideshow and see if I can return it for a refund and I'm going to complain heavily. I think eveyone who is dissatisfied should do the same thing. If we don't, we'll be shown figures with beautiful likeness when we order and then get a very disappointing figure delivered to our houses.

If I was a cynic, I might speculate that Sideshow saw how bad Willow was turning out and they knew fans would be disappointed. So maybe they rushed Vamp Spike and PG Buffy to release right after because they knew fans would be happy with these figures? Hence, why we have 3 major releases in the line within a week of each other. Just a thought, of course, I have no idea how the prototype to release process works. On another note I was staring at the pictures above of the Sideshow figures and I have noticed a pattern on Buffy releases. The major 4 were released (buffy, angel, spike, faith) then 3 supporting/variant characters, then a scoob, then 3 more supporting/variant releases (counting PG exclusive and reg version as 1) and then another scoob. so with vamp buffy and liam announced, we have 1 more release to be announced and the one after that should be a scoob. as long as the pattern keeps going. I also noticed the 4th and the 8th release are the figures most were disappointed with. If this pattern continues, then oz (#12) is screwed.

I agree, if somebody goes to the Sideshow site and sees the Willow picture they would most likely be "That's a nice figure" But when they order it, they get a whole different figure! (well, the clothes are still the same.. but that's about it) If Sideshow really thinks this figure turned out good, then they should use a 'real' picture of the finished figure, i don't think it will sell out that way though

Aww, what a shame! I really was excited for Willow. I'm glad I waited to order her.

I haven't received mine yet, but now I am kind of dreading opening the box. *Crossing my fingers that it is at least decent.*

My thoughts exactly SE.
Ya know I am sick and tired of paying alot of my hard earned money for these dolls. And then in return the product I recieved does not resemble the one I ordered. If the Prophecy Girl Buffys look terrible when I get them, I will be canceling all of my pre-orders. It's rediculous, ever since I got the Willow I put her back in her box, and now it is in my closet. I don't even want to display that thing.
And another thing, the body color to head and hand skin color don't even match, and the joints are just WAY too loose. I am considering to stop collecting figures from Sideshow.

Ok, the figure is not so cute as the first pic, but I'm not agree with you guys, she's not horrible. I still want to get her. But prophecy girl is very ugly, I hate her hair.

I just got my Willow figures today. I'm glad I saw the pictures ahead of time because I would've been shocked. I think they are okay, but just okay and that is disappointing to me. The prototype was so much better and the prototype picture is still on the box! My husband thinks it looks nothing like AH and thinks the Faith figure looks better. I think the Faith figure is prettier but looks nothing like ED but I think the Willow figure resemblence is better but a kind of distorted, older looking AH. It looks a bit off. One eye is higher than the other and there is a mark on the side of her head where they apparently screwed up with the molding process. This is identical on my daughter's figure too.
My daughter still likes her a lot and wanted to keep her. I was debating on sending them back but she looks okay enough to pass for Willow and the outfit and accessories are fantastic.
I am still planning on writing Sideshow and expressing how disappointed I am with this figure and that it looks nothing like the prototype. This is the first time this has happened with them, even Faith looked like her prototype so you knew what you were getting.
I'm thrilled that the Oz figure isn't listed as a prototype and he should look like that when we get him but from now on I'm going to be very hesitant to buy anything that is listed as a prototype.
Now, as for the Buffy figure, I think she looks good. Because it's not molded hair we can always fuss with that a bit if we don't like it to get it to look better but her face looks perfect and that figure is supposed to look beat up because of The Master.

I just went to the Sideshow website and e-mailed them a long message stating how disappointed I was with this figure. I told them that I didn't think it was fair (or possibly legal) to have changed the prototype so much and not post a new picture before it shipped out. I also described to them in detail the problems with the figure. The face looks distorted, one eye is higher than the other, the mouth is crooked and there is a molding mark on the side of the head.
I also told them that I would be very hesitant to buy any other "prototypes" from them in the future because of how drastically different this figure was from the original. And I said if this happens again, I will no longer be buying the Sideshow line. I mentioned that one of the reasons I started collecting their figures was because of the quality even though the prices are higher and this Willow figure did not have the quality I expected and paid for.
I think everyone who is disappointed should at least contact them and let them know even if you decide to keep the figures like I did.
If I didn't have all the other figures (and I also told Sideshow this) I wouldn't have kept this one. If she had been my first Sideshow purchase, she would've been my last.
The only figures, IMO, that have been consistently good are the ones done by Oluf Hartvigson.

Thanks for the info! I was upset about the lack of progress on the 2 Prophecy Girl figs, but until I read your post over at the Sideshow forum, I had assumed all was well with the Willow. I think I'll be using the return policy for all 3.

Are all the figures that have been received thus far exclusives? If so, it's possible that the problems (apparently with the molds at the factory) only affect the exclusives. I believe they are the first one made, and even though something like this shouldn't even be sent out it's *possible* the problem is limited to maybe even the first of the exclusives produced. I'll definitely be writing a letter if mine has problems. I don't want to cancel just yet because the outfit is awesome and there is still a chance that the figure I received is good. Definitely let us know the gist of any responses you guys receive from Sideshow, or even post the email if you feel it is appropriate to do so. FireFlyFlanatic... welcome to the boards. Based on your post it sounds like you've sent an extremely well written email (in terms of emotion and also argument) to Sideshow. Definitely let me know what they say. Bickle... fingers crossed you won't have to use the return, but at the moment things aren't looking good .
