Well, I recieved my Willow exclusive today. When I got home, there it was on my doorstep. After looking at her for a while I have to say I am not impressed. Now don't get me wrong, I like her outfit, and accessories and even the box (Yay for Alyson's face on the front!) but the face is just terrible. In this scale it should be easier to capture her likeness. There really is no excuse. This is a trend that I have noticed that started with Faith. The human characters just don't look like the actor at all. It's not good. I mean the prototype looks a whole lot better than mine does. I think they should start using scans. I would rather not pay so much money, and be let down again.
Still, I think with the Prophecy Girl Buffys and the new Oz, things will be better.

I still can't wait to get mine and judge for myself I am happy about Alyson being on the box though!

From what I've seen it looks like something went wrong in the manufacturing process, causing her face to be distorted. What I've seen looks nothing like the protoype. It's just inexcusable when we're talking about this much money.
As much as I love the character, and want the figure, and as good as the outfit appears to have turned out, if my personal figure is as bad as the photo I've seen I'm going to strongly consider returning it. The sculpt has just been butchered, imo.

Can someone take some pictures of the figure? I thought the prototype was a little off, but it sounds like you guys are saying the final version is way off. That's a shame. Still, I think with the Prophecy Girl Buffys and the new Oz, things will be better. I wouldn't get my hopes up on that Prophecy Girl Buffy. Unless Sideshow made some major changes to that figure, I can guarantee it's going to be a huge disappointment.

About Prophecy Girl Buffy, Sideshow has had plenty of time to modify her to perfection. So there should be a reason to get our hopes up. They haven't shown us pictures of her for a long time, so none of us know what she looks like now. Remember the Prophecy Girl Buffys where Prototypes and not the finished project. We"ll just have to wait and see what the final result is. Personally I found no huge problems with the hair down Buffy, only problems with the hair up Buffy, looking as though she was balding from the sides. Hopefully they have fixed this problem as they do read this board and try to help the fans and customers out by satisfying them. I can't say too much about satisfying the fans and customers as far as who is released. I would've prefered a Xander, Giles or Cordelia figure way before Oz.

I got two Willow's today and I agree with everyone that this is a big disappointment. The face is not as full as the prototype; when the head mold was made, it looks like the settings were off a fraction. The paint apps are clean but two light around the eyes; the eyes are pail blue and too little suggestion of Alyson's long lashes. The neck appears stubby and does not match the face color at all. Over all, the Doll looks almost like a middle aged woman.
On the Plus side, the outfit does look fantastic. This is one you would want to keep in the background with Faith.

It looks like Willow whose been beaten with an ugly stick.

I received mine yesterday. This has been a very disappointing figure. I never had a problem with the original prototype and was one of the first to order her. But like Cowboy Guy posted, the actual figure's head sculpt only kinda resembles the promo pictures and even the pictures on the box! The nose, eyes and mouth are completely different. It just doesn't look like Willow, it looks like an old drag queen.
The sweater and bag are really cool, on the bright side. But without a decent willow to put them on, they are kind of useless. I am debeating even displaying her because I think her appearance is so jarring.
I think both Willow and Faith deserve another shot at a Sideshow version with a new sculpt from a scan.

To take it one step further, if you don't want to display it, what's the point of even owning it? I would have loved to have purchased and displayed a Sideshow Willow, but it sounds like that's not going to happen. Oh well, saves me money, right?

I've come to the conclusion that all the Sideshow figures done without scans (Except Monsters) really have no decent likeness. I'm so hoping that when Xander is made, he will actually have been scanned. Same goes for Giles and Cordy.

Hi, I'm new and have been lurking for a few days now. I'm expecting my two Willow figures next week and I'm dismayed to hear the negative reviews of them. I didn't think the prototype looked too bad even though it wasn't a perfect match for Willow and now I'm worried I won't like them at all!
The only one I haven't liked so far has been the Faith doll. All the rest of them I've thought were really great.

I guess we'll just have to wait until someone posts some pics. It doesn't sound good though.

Here are a few shots of Willow's sculpt- sorry for the sub-par lighting- img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/mrbergstrom/DSCN0189.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v417/mrbergstrom/DSCN0188.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v417/mrbergstrom/DSCN0187.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v417/mrbergstrom/DSCN0186.jpgPersonally, I think the likeness is on a par with Faith's, which is to say, not that great, but not completely awful either. I do think it is fantastic that Sideshow has, for the first time, used a scaled-down body for Willow, which is a good three quarters of an inch shorter than the other figures, including the vamped out version of herself. Too bad they didn't use it for Buffy or Faith, but it looks as if Oz will feature a similarly scaled-down body, judging from the photos, and the ratio of head to body size. Mr. B

Wow, that really doesn't looks like the promopictures! How sad, i loved her so much in the promo's, @ Sideshow!! The only good thing about it seems to be the sweater, which is really cute, her face looks wrong though, i wanted to say "She looks like a witch"... i realised that she is but you know what i mean, the face is very long... and flat, except for the nose which looks huge. Maybe it looks better from far away... I'm not sure if i will cancel my order (cause i just love the character Willow), i think i'll sleep on it...

What happened to her face and why did they change it? The figure was near perfect when it was done. She doesn't look anything like Willow anymore. I'm hoping that when I get her in the mail and see her up close that she looks a little better.

I prefer the promo figure to the final version, too. I think I'll pass. Maybe they'll make a better one at some point.
