We just got a case of those SW Animated figures in last night's freight. It was new mod so we didn't put it out... we have so much stuff from the current mod that we're trying to keep the new mod seperate. Not easy, lol. Some of it has found its way to the shelves, like the Darth Vader helmet thing. I think they all sold though, guess we can't complain about sales We also got in that preschool SW X-Wing fighter, two to a case... but also new mod, so it's been spirited away to the back room until January... And they finally put out the SW figure case sets, the Vader and 3POs with two figures each. That damn shipper (great big box filled with toys and usually sitting on a pallet) has been in the back room since sometime in September. I wonder where the Transformers shipper ended up... haven't seen it for a week or so now

Well, that's promising news about the January mods. I've been trying to get as much stuff before Christmas as possible since toys usually get neglected after the holidays. January and February toy hunts are usually pretty dull for me.

Hey all, BBTS has the Cantina wave in stock.
I know it's pretty pricey at $10 a crack, but at least you don't have to hunt for 'em.
Can't wait for those new animated figures to show up. I must have an ARC trooper or three.
Spike- how's your Wal-Mart doing for LOTR? The scene here sucks. I'm like five waves behind now.

Hey everyone, just another Walmart update. Next time you're there, check the prices on the basic figures and the VOTC figures. At my store, lots of stuff is going on clearance to make room for the new mod stuff (as I thought would happen). Basics are on clearance at $3, and VOTCs are $7. And if you bought any within the past two weeks, I *think* you can bring in your receipt and get the difference back. I know that works with Rollbacks, not sure about clearance. I would assume so; I'll find out for sure tonight as I'm bringing in my receipts for some figures and getting that settled. I got about $7 back when Transformers Deluxes (~$9.96 normally) went on Rollback to $7.44... Spike- how's your Wal-Mart doing for LOTR? The scene here sucks. I'm like five waves behind now. Sucks here too. All we have is one Frodo (FOTR) and one of the Coronation gift set. We haven't had anything new other than the Morgul Lord Witch King (the one with the spiked helmet), King of the Dead, etc. I only really want Shelob, and I'm assuming most everyone else is too. Knowing Toy Biz though, nothing is "sacred," in the sense that stuff is released over and over again. I hope Shelob gets more distribution, as I've never seen her in this area (or in the 40 minutes driving time that I sometimes venture into). Though I am glad that I ordered Sauron back when I had, he's not been out since TT and then in ROTK packaging... Edit 12-27-04: The Frodo was gone, but tonight there was a lone Arwen in Coronation gown, single carded. Didn't realize that was going to be released... I am going to be so pissed if I find out we had a case with Shelob and I missed out Last night we got in (for the new mod) a case of the Star Wars: Jedi Force, whatver they're called... those 6" (?) scale figures for ages 3 & up. They're kind of goofy but kind of interesting too. I opened up the case to get a good look at them, the lightsaber light-up action is awesome. Vader has a cloth cape, and the shape of his helmet's eyes make him look like he's thinking, "hmmm?" These figures are kind of like the Galactic Heroes figurines, of which I only bought one pack so far (3PO and Chewie). Also, about the clearance priced stuff and getting the difference back. I asked two CSMs, one said definitely that you could not get the difference back. The other said maybe... I'm thinking about just bringing the three figures in for a refund, and then promptly take the figures back and buy them at $3 each ;D

The Wal-Mart here has reset their toy section again. I guess in retail-speak, the new mod is in place. But they did have new figures - all of the first eight POTC (including the cantina wave) plus most of the repacks - figures numbered 8-14.
No Animated Clone Wars figures though, I was disappointed.
I did see the new Galactic Heroes packs last Friday, but they were gone today (Gamorrean/Luke; Jawa/Tusken; Skiff Guard/Lando). These packs are noteworthy in that they have an Episode III mini-catalog in them. I haven't seen the JediForce figures at Wal-Marts yet, but Target and TRU has been carrying them for about a month.
The LOTR pegs were freshly stocked last Friday, they got in a bunch of Elronds and Prologue Elven Warriors, along with Eowyn, Strider, sword attack Frodo, and the older Gandalf.

Scored Animated wave 3 at Target. Grevious is sweet. Can't wait for the movie versions to arrive. I haven't opened the rest of them, but I'm getting the feeling I should have passed on Anakin. And I didn't get the yellow flavored Clone, but I got the blue and red. Didn't see any white ones either (between two Targets) but I have two of them already anyway. The Cantina wave was there too. As was tons of new GI Joe swag. Ended up spending close to $100 on this stupid shit today.

Our new mods are being set now, and the action figure aisle is done There's going to be six pegs for SW basics, not sure because the mod sheet doesn't actually show how many they're supposed to set. But I did get two cases of them last night, so now I have the three alien guys. Great figures, though I hate the fact that we're paying a dollar more for the same thing that really should be only $4 on average. Especially considering that the LOTR figures are $6 on average, are a lot bigger and have way more articulation... I was encouraged to see that LOTR now has six pegs set aside, up from the three they had before Christmas. Though we have no figures on hand, on the pegs or in the back room... someone had the stupid idea to order 96 of them! Hopefully they won't all be sent out at once. Otherwise we'll end up being stuck with the same damn figures I want that Shelob! My precioussssss! I just realized that we're slowly derailing the Star Wars topic into a Lord of the Rings topic... Maybe it's time to bump up the old one I had started ages ago.

I'm looking for this LEGO set. It's the 4482 AT-TE from Attack of the Clones. It's out of production but there might still be a few gathering dust on store shelves out there.

I haven't seen that in a while, but if I do find it I can grab it. How much is it supposed to go for? I don't wanna get it at TRU or someplace where they tend to overcharge. If it's old, it should be on clearance somewhere. I have seen a few of the Mini building set of that AT-TE...

There were a few still in stores locally but it looks like they sold out around the holidays. I called LEGO and they are sold out as well.

Thanks for the Wal-mart updates. It looks like they are only upping the price to $5.88 on Star Wars. Target's shot up to $6.99! That, and I didn't see any space for LOTR at the new Target mod.
If Wal-Mart stocks new LOTR, looks like the collecting pendulum will swing back in their favor, and away from Target.

Wal-Mart has shelf space marked for the new pre-school plush lightsabers. I doubt I'll get one of these, but I'd like to see one in person. Also spotted Star Wars valentines with OT characters. Yes, now you can win the heart of that special girl by sending her an Emperor Palpatine ("You know now your destiny lies with me.") or C-3PO & R2-D2 ("We make the best counterparts.") or even the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy, Boba Fett ("You're worth a lot to me.") Found the new Animated Clone Wars figures at K-Mart today, they were $6.49 each. Wal-Mart has the best price so far on these but at least they are no longer exclusives. Picked up 2 ARC Troopers and Blue and Yellow Clones: Also spotted the GI Joe "Ninja Battles" set with Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow and ninjas with display base and DVD for $17.99. I haven't bought any Joe stuff since the late 80's but was tempted to buy this set. The display base has the symbol that both Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow have tattooed on their forearms in the vintage comic. Suncoast has the LOTR AOME 9-piece Fellowship set for $24.99 but I don't collect the miniature figures.

[/quote] LOL I think they forgot, "You could use a good kiss!" with a pic of Chewbacca! I think it's $14 and change at Walmart. Looks pretty damn cool, there's a review of that set at this site. I saw the case and opened it to check them out sometime just before that site posted a review. I'm trying to cut back on buying pretty much anything outside of Transformers, but that set I think I'll have to get By the way they've had a few of the newer ninja figures with that Arashikage clan mark, including one of the many Snake Eyes. And the ninja that is packaged in the middle and to the back of the set uses the body of the newest Iron Grenadier. Pretty inventive of them, as it works well...

I bought out the remaining stock of Star Wars LEGO from the local KB*Toys going out of business sale today. They were 70% off, but I told them I'd buy everything if they gave me 80%. They agreed and I ended up hauling off 102 sets of the 7201 Final Duel II (23 piece set that has Stormtrooper, Imperial Officer, and Jedi Luke). Total sale price was $65.58 with tax; works out to about 64 cents per set. Great day for army building! Anyone found the "Titanium" series of die-cast vehicles? They are re-releases of X-Wing, Y-Wing, Falcon, Slave I, and TIE die cast vehicles from the 90's. I saw the X-Wing and TIE in the Hot Wheels aisle at one Wal-Mart but haven't seen them since. I think they're a Wal-Mart exclusive.

Sweet jesus. What are you gonna do with all the Lukes? Throw them at old people? Anyway, that's awesome. The Episode III Sneak Preview figures are hitting retail, though they apparently carry a street date of Febuary 1st.

Sweet jesus. What are you gonna do with all the Lukes? Throw them at old people? My thoughts exactly ;D Quite a way to build up on Lego Stormtroopers. Yeah, we got a few cases of those things in. They're not on the modular, so we ended up sticking them in a flex section in the Hot Wheels aisle. They're pretty cool, but I would rather have rereleases of the old Micro Machines SW vehicles. But only if they cast them in a harder plastic... those things used to suffer from bent up wings and extremities. Wish I had kept all of the ones I had... How easy or hard to find is that OTC Slave-I? I haven't seen it yet. I'm not exactly going out every day looking for it at the nearest Target, but I don't want it that badly. I'm hoping to find it for clearance before it disappears.

Hooray for clearance sales! ;D Now that's a haul. If there's such a thing as a lego customizer, they could pretty much make any human in the SW universe with those lukes.
I found the titanium series too, though I'll probably pass. Well, maybe just one. (Right - I've thought that before).
I've been seeing a lot of the Clone Wars animated figures too. Trying to pass, but some of them look gooooood.

I'm looking for this LEGO set. It's the 4482 AT-TE from Attack of the Clones. It's out of production but there might still be a few gathering dust on store shelves out there. I found like seven of these at my local TRU on clearance. The original price was $70, and they're 70% off of that. You might try looking through local TRUs in the clearance areas. I doubt mine is the only one with these on the shelves.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with those 102 Lukes. I guess I can swap the legs and hair with other mini-figs and work them into a display. It's expensive army building with LEGO since they usually only include one trooper with a set. To get this many at such a low price is a great buy. How easy or hard to find is that OTC Slave-I? I haven't seen it yet. I'm not exactly going out every day looking for it at the nearest Target, but I don't want it that badly. I'm hoping to find it for clearance before it disappears. I don't have a Target locally but I did check Targets in Indianapolis the last Friday. The clearanced Slave I's I saw after christmas were all gone. Yeah, my local TRU sold out shortly before christmas, but the set never went on clearance. I checked the four TRUs in Indianapolis last week but no luck. Even called LEGO shop @ home but they are sold out too. If you can pick up one or two of these sets for me at 70% off I'd appreciate it.

I went back to find them, and they've moved them. So I'll have to look harder to find them. I doubt they all sold, but it's possible. Found all four Sneak preview figures for ROTS today. I just bought Grievous for now, because fundage is a little short. At first, I wasn't sure I liked the packaging, but now that I've seen it in person, it's awesome. I spotted these from about 50 feet away, and in Wal-Mart, that's quite an accomplishment. They're $5.88 plus your state's share.
