I got the TARDIS oplayset and it rocks so much I have all the 5" figures so far except the Regeneration set and the TRU exclusive Cyber-Controller... but its a very nifty collection... Havn't quite convinced myself to shell out the money for the 12" David Tennant yet... is it worth the money? I'm almost certain it must be just because you can remove his clothes... ahem. Can't wait for the finale on Saturday!!

Newton, would love to get some pics up - but can someone tell me how to do it? I'm so useless at this sort of thing?
Wouldn't mind getting the photos of my 12" custom Jayne Cobb up on the relevant boards as well...
Thanks for stating the Cybercontroller was a TRU exclusive - I had no idea! I have to say, the 12" Tennat is a little disappointing. He looks kind of flat, but considering how much the figure is, something like £17 retail, it's not so bad. The addition of the coat would really have helped though.

Oh, sorry, I meant to add, there's nothing on the new Rose from New Earth. By the looks of things, she's going to be put off until Wave 3. Not that I'm an expert, but it seems that they still have some original Roses to shift.

Capt Oates - dud eyou have the playset? I didn't even know this stuff was out yet - I thought it was all still in some vague hazy future! But of course with Dr Who, there's no such thing as time! <grin> So Capt Oates - get to postin' some pics!!!! :-) Peacock - I wrote a step by step how to post pics - let me see if I can go thru my old posts and find it - basically you need to have a place to post your pics on the web (I recommend www.photobucket.com - free, nice, extremely easy to use and they even provide the links to post in threads on boards like here so your pics show up!). And don't feel bad - I consider myself a computer geek but couldn't figure out how to do it here until someone was nice enough to take the time to get me started. I will try to find my post now and carry on the tradition! :-)

Ahhhh Peacock!!! That's a collection of beauty! I am soooo envious!!! And glad you got the pics posted because I could not find my old post! Is the TARDIS the Bank or do they have a figure version out? If it's the bank, does the front pop off or something? The Playset supposedly allows the front to snap on - I could only guess the front pops off to help remove the money? But I'm hoping they finally released one the Figures can fit in. My old Dapol one works - but just barely! :-) If it's new, does it light up and make the TARDIS sounds? The Cyberman looks sharp! As do the Daleks! Are they remote control (do they have any non-remote control versions? I'd be happy with just pull n go action - and the price woud hopefully be more affordable - we get killed with the shiping and low dollar to pound ratio!). And I'm glad they have Chip w/ Cassandra. I didn't get her yet, so I'll get this one as it seems like a better deal - more figure for your money and all (though you'd think they could have kept at least one spider! Oh well - doesn't Ba..ma...durn, whazzhisname?...the little blue dude, doesn't come with a spider or two too? :-) I love it love it love it!!! I have to collect them all!!! :-) Again - your collection is awesome!!! Out of this time zone! :-) I want them, all of them!!!

Hey Newton - so many questions! ;-) The TARDIS is the money box, but it is in scale with the figures. It is just as you've probably seen it in ads. you push the doors in, they pop open, you get a phrase fro the series. In this case, it'll be a Christopher Eccleston or Billie Piper quote. A Davis Tennant version is getting released later on in the year. It can't be effectively used as an accessory or playset as such, but does look good with the figures. The TARDIS light glows on and off when you shut the doors to the materialisation noise.
The daleks are remote controlled. here's no pull back and go version (as yet?) but it's not a bad idea if they wanted to chuck out a cheaper version.
The first Cassandra that was released came with 3 robot spiders. The Moxx of Balhoon came with 2. He's pull back and go though!

Oh my God... now I want some of these figures! Thanks for posting the pics. It's just a matter of digging through my other toys and selling some of them off to pay for new Doctor Who toys So, there's no "cheap" alternative to get these toys in the USA? Dang. I have to get that TARDIS control room, K-9 (two versions?), a few of the Doctors, that newer Billie figure, the freaky souped-up Cyberman, some Daleks, even that larger remote control Dalek I read a review for... augh!

I suppose it's understandable, but Doctor Who merchandising has gone from a modest yet strong output, mainly from companies such as Product Enterprises, to a range that I always thought was something of a pipe-dream. While I would love a range of figures to match for the original series, it would probably make me very broke indeed!
Spike, there are three K-9 figures in total that are due to be out. The first one which was a pull back and go rusted up model with the pink top Rose, then there's the remote control K-9 rusty) that comes with te 10th Doctor in his suit (again, no sonic screwdriver with that version), and the brand spanking new K-9 that's due to come with the "New Earth" Rose. But that could all change I suppose.
Then there's the large scale remote control K-9.
It's all come such a long way from Dapol's brave, but mostly grim, range from the 80's and 90's.
Still, I'd love a set of Doctors, companions and monsters in scale with the current range. I 'e had the idea in the back of my head for that they could do a pack of three figures, one Doctor, a memorable villiain/monster, and a main companion.
Oh those pipe-dreams...

Excellent collection, I can’t wait until these toys get to the states. The 12 inch Doctor isn’t a bad likeness but it is not great. Did anyone see the 12 inch Cyberman yet? If you UK people could post pictures of the figures when you get them that would make your friends in the USA greatful.

This is my Doctor Who collection: Dapol Ace (7th Doctors assistant), 12" Dalek, TARDIS phone thingy (it makes the TARDIS noises when my phone goes off near it, even if the phone is on silent, it freaks my mum out!), Pull back and go K9 Rose 10th Doctor Clockwork Dalek I want to get more aliens - Slytheen and Cybermen, Regeneration pack and Jack, once released. I've got a Rose custom on the way from Bennywilde.

Nice The only Doctor Who toy I ever had was a Dapol movie-based (claw arm instead of plunger) red & silver Dalek. These new figures are just awesome... I only wish that they were made in the 6" scale. Why can't stuff just be standardized... including McFarlane and their 7" figures... :-\ The 12" custom figures look like Sideshow bodies. What heads were used? Their likenesses are uncanny.

It would be nice to have a set of standards for action figure sizes wouldn't it? The new figures are actually in an on 5" scale, so they're right in the middle of an awkward range between Star Wars and Buffy!
Thanks for the comments regarding the 12" customs, Spike. The first two Doctors are BBI military figures, the second two are Dragon military figures. The BBI figures seem to have a slimmer frame than Dragon's.
For the first three I added features to the exisitng facial sculpts of the soldiers. There are also different sorts of facial structures among the Dragon and BBI range, which lend themselves well for conversion, and they can be picked up fairly cheaply if you buy nude ones off eBay. For the 9th Doctor I cut the head off of the Walkie Talkie.
The 1st Doctors outfit is made up of the outfit for the Sideshow Wyatt Earp, although the trousers are from the James Bond Q doll. I was quite lucky to find the clothes loose on eBay.
The other Doctors are dressed pretty much in Ken (Barbie) clothes! The 9th Doctor's outfit was taken from military stuff.

thanks to this thread it turns out that the 5" and 12" Cybercontroller are UK Toys R Us exclusives.
Hopefully I'll be able to get hold of one.

Peacok - I am in awe over your collection - and especially your custom Docs - what amazing talent you have!!! I think I'm going to try getting some more Who 5" figures now that there's been a break in the Buffy figures (until Primeval and the Deluxes start the next wave). And after seeing the Season 2 2Part Finale, my love of Who is at an all time high again. Did you cry? I did and I fully admit it - best Who story in...well, ever!!! And so cool to see Capt Jack (though I'm confused on the outfit he's wearing?) and the CyberController - he had been blacked out of all the promo photos I'd seen (ala Ewoks in the original Star Wars line, if anyone here is old enough to remember that!). :-) I can't wait to get the new Rose and K9 - since I have been so tempted to "clean" up the rust on mine, I'm glad they are releasing a clean one (and hey, it's not even a throwback to the old series, since we just glimpsed that shiny new K9 for a couple secs, right?). I have read Character Options does *not* have the rights to the original series, so we're not likely to see any 5" original series figures anytime soon. There is a company - who's name I totally forget - that does have the license, and has a geat looking Tom Baker Doc and Revenge-style Cyberman, unfortunately in the 12" range. I have never been into 12" figures - the weird scale issues always were a turn off to me, and though these new ones (and peacock's customs are amazing) the older ones never looked much like the character they were supposed to represent, especially in the Star Wars line. I could never understand how a 4" figure could look so much more realistic than a 12" figure, so attributed to sloppy work and a lack of care on the lines. Sideshow's Buffy and Angel lines *look* fantastic, but at least with the first few, the scale issue was still present (i.e. Buffy, Angel and Spike were all the same height!). That's not to say there's never scale issue in 4,5, 6" lines, just that they are rarer, while the range of figures is much greater (since it's obviously cheaper to make smaller scale figures). Plus I like having playsets and ships, and that's not really feasible with 12" figures.
ANd I have no idea how I got on a discourse of 12" versus smaller scale figures! ANyway, I can't wait to get new WHo (and Buffy!) 5" & 6" figures - I'll have to get a pic up of my small WHo collection. And yes, the old Dapol ones were mostly pitiful efforts, though I always thought Ace, K-9, the Daleks and Cybermen were fairly good efforts. And I'm *still* using my Dapol TARDIS until Character Options gets around to making one for the figure line (they will won't they? Surely not just the bank? I wonder how difficult it'd be to take out the "backdrop" photo and make a custom figure TARDIS w/ still working sound and lights? That reminds me that I think the last Dapol TARDIS had sound as well as lights...but still, the quality of the Character Opts one is so much better (and matches the lighter "Public Telephone..." panel of the 1st, 9th, & 10th Docs! :-)
Feel free to keep posting as many pics as you want - I LOVE these new figures!!!! :-)

Captain Jack is wearing his WW2 military uniform from The Empty Child.
I hope that it is just a proto type, and the actual one will hopefully be a darker blue.
