I doubt Joss would kill off a major character in the comic book...thats not to say someone like Principal Wood isnt off limits...or a few of the surviving potentials. I think its far more likely that we may see some favorite dead characters return in some way....now that is something I would be VERY excited about. Imagine Tara returning? :::dies::: I agree...no way Joss gonna make major changes like killing off main characters in those comic books.

Imagine Tara returning? :::dies::: Yes, The return of Tara. She couldn't come back for season 7 because of Amber Benson, but she could definately make an appearance in season 8 of Joss' comic book. There are a number of cool things he could do that would not be possible to do on the show. I am really excited for this comic.

I remember shortly after the show ended reading an interview with Joss detailing his plans for Tara had Amber agreed to return...it was going to be a very happy ending for Willow/Tara fans but supposedly Benson didnt want to return for a few guest spots leading up to her resurrection that would have "hurt her fans" because of the obnoxiously loud uproar that the "Kittens" (AKA HARDCORE Willow/Tara fans) put up when she died.
If Joss could bring her back and make things well between her and Willow, I would be a very happy fan. Plus maybe Oz or Riley could come back. Who knows...the possibilities are endless.

I'll definitely have to pick these up. Too bad the first volume doesn't come out until October. I hate waiting. The reason i doubt that a main character would be killed off, is because, as afer said, not everyone reads comic books. Even if the chances of a buffy tv movie are slim, if it did happen, can you imagine how pissed off fans would be if they found out xander (or another main character) was dead??? Everyone would be like "er, when did that happen?". Personally, i'd hate to see a character get killed in a comic. It wouldn't be as emotional, and it would seem a cheap way to get rid of a well loved character. I agree with that.

Joss said that he told Amber his plans and she didnt want anything to do with it because of the obnoxious whining of the W/T fans. Oh well, Amber doesnt seem like a very reasonable person...I'm still pretty mad at her for charging so much for her exclusive figure.

I just read an interview with Joss and he said that the Spike, Faith, and Willow made for Tv or DVD movies he was working on are all dead in the water! They are not going to happen! What's the problem? MONEY! Nobody including FOX or sci-fi network are interested in doing them the way Joss wants to do them. No one is willling to pony up the cash to have it produced. The same is true of the Buffy animated series. These comics may be our last outlet for Buffy/Angel. Since there will be no movie tie-ins, I think that means anything goes in the comics! Xander or anybody else could very well bite the dust! I also read an interview with Amy Acker, and she let it spill that one of the things they were working on was GUNN turning into a vampire and becoming a main villain. I guess she felt she wasn't spilling anything if she knew that it was not gonna happen. I just wish that somebody else would take over FOX and see what a great license they have. Buffy/Angel made for DVD movies sound like a no-brainer to me and would surely sell well. I would think that everyone who bought the series on DVD would buy them, but what do I know, I'm not a big shot FOX exec.

Yeah it does look like these comics are our last chance at seeing the Buffyverse (unless Joss writes a book.) The Gunn plot Amy Acker talked about, well I have mixed feelings about that. I am a little tired of the "ally becomes an enemy" plot. Too bad IDW doesn't have the freedom yet to do canon season 6 Angel comics. I would love to see that. (I'm more of an Angel fan than a Buffy fan, though I'm still interested to see what happens next.) I'd like to see Faith in the Buffy comics though. I'm curious to see how she's adjusted after Chosen and how her relationship with Robin is going.

The official artist for the new Buffy comics has been announced over at Whedonesque. Here is the link: whedonesque.com/comments/10681#moreThis is Georges Jeanty's site: www.kabalounge.com/home.htmHis work isn't bad. I do wish that Joss would have gotten Karl Moline on board. I love his work in Fray (I know he IS the reason for the long delays with Fray, but I love his work.)

Eck, not a fan of that artist. One thing I hope we see is a Buffy that somewhat LOOKS like Sarah Michelle Gellar and the rest of the cast. I also would like some color currectness. Buffy needs GREEN eyes and so does Willow. In Comics Buffy has blue and Willow has brown. I think the coloring needs to be inproved from formor comics, there is alot of lacking detail and colors of hair that just isn't right (mainly Buffy and Willow)

I'm ecstatic that they're renewing the Buffy comics! I was a really obsessive Buffy comic collector back when they were regularly released, and I was really devestated when the comics ended. I couldn't have asked for anything better than Joss himself (as well as some original Buffy writers) bringing the comics back to life in order to show us the Scoobies' lives after Chosen! I'll definitely be picking up these issues.
The only thing I hope they don't do is make four different art covers for each issue. I'm a completionist, so I'd have to get all four (which is kind of the reason I haven't been able to get all of the Angel comics yet), and that's not really good for my wallet.

I hate when there are more then 1 art covers. I always want to get all them but I don't have the money. I really hated when they did that with the Serenity comics.

I know some times it's hard to chose though other times you're glad you had other options. I think this was especially true when Spike vs. Dracula #3 came out. The season 8 comic keeps sounding better and better. I remember Joss saying that he would put in hints about what season 6 of Angel would be like. Hopefully he'll feel compelled enough to write some Angel issues for IDW. I want to know: -What is up with the Immortal relationship? -More about who or what the Immortal is. -Does Buffy know about Spike being alive? (IDW has said that they are willing to let Joss use Spike a bit.) -More about Dawn and what she is doing. -Will Andrew be in this or is his character owned by IDW? -More Faith including where her relationship with Robin is. -How powerful is Willow now?
