I'm pretty bummed. I still haven't received my issue from BCC and it is almost 2 weeks since it's release. Yes, I do live in Canada, but it shouldn't take that long to get it in the mail. I ended up going out and buying issue #1 from my comic store.
Hopefully this is not an indication of how long it will take to get the rest of the issues!!!
I sent an e-mail to BCC so I'll wait and see what they have to say.
By the way, I loved the comic and can't wait for Issue #2!!!!!

I have a question about how the Buffy comics are released. I've never really followed a comic series before, so it's all new to me.
Anyways, Issue two has sold out around here again. I actually forgot it came out today. They said they would have more next week. My question is, would it be the same version released today - like the first printing?
The reason I ask is I bought two copies of the last issue at different times. I got the first release, and then I got a copy of what was the second printing a few weeks later. The second printing was smaller widthwise, because it didn't have the sold color bar along the side. I want to make sure now that I get all the printings with the bar on the side, so the collection has constancy.

First, the second prting should be the same size as the first. The actual size of the comic doesn't change between printings, just the cover (sometimes in other comics the cover will stay the same but there will be other things that change like where they place the staples among otehr things). Second, not all comics go to a second printing, but even if they do, you might still be able to get a copy of the first printing from your comic shop. It all depends on what the shop orders, so I would ask them what they plan on having come in. Also, ask them if they have a reserve, meaning if you plan on getting a monthly comic - such as Buffy - they will put it aside for you when it comes in. Just make sure you specify which cover, printing, etc. that you want. This is what I do for a number of comics that I get every month. If it's a good comic shop (I'm assuming it is because you didn't specify) there shouldn't be any issue in doing this. Lots of places, if not all, use reserves. It's how they get customers to keep coming back. Plus a reserve helps a comic shop order enough copies of specific comics. If you're on the reserve for Buffy, then when they order it they should take you into account to ensure you get one. However, this can become difficult for high-demand comics like Buffy #1 or the recent death of Captain America, etc. One other thing: make sure that you don't pay more for the second printing. Some shady places will charge more as if it's a variant cover. I really wouldn't even pay more for the Jeanty variant covers. There are places online that you can order them from for the cover price. Hope that helps. If not, ask away. I'll do my best. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm more a comic nerd or a Buffy dork... or perhaps it's both...hmmm...

There's a description of whats to come in Issue #5 on dark horse's website (although I didn't read it because I don't want ANY spoilers whatsoever even if it is only a small description. lol) and I think what may be the variant cover.
