Yeah, Sci-Fi is one of my favorite channels, but they irk me to no end with all the editing! I agree about the Turn Left opening, one of the cutest things about that episode was The Doctor and Donna sipping those fruity drinks at one of the vendors! Then when the other family is taken away to the "labor camps" the cut almost the entire scene, except for Wilf telling Donna that it is just like before. The crazy guy doesn't get any of this lines and it makes his departure much less heart wrenching. That episode was just not the same as it was before. Gah!
I do really hope you are right about the finale! It seems like it starts an half hour different, so that might mean it will run an hour and a half, almost, and that would leave all the greatness in it. If that makes any sense...

Ok double posting here, but I need to rant... (its a good rant, I swear! ) So I have been rooting around the interweb here the last few weeks and have been enjoying myself some classic who and the 8th Doctor movie. I have to say, I actually liked the movie! I had never seen it before, and I have heard some bad mojo about the movie. While I understand Eric Roberts camped up the Master to the nth degree, Paul McGann as the Doctor was a pleasent surprise. His Doctor reminds me of 4 and 10 mixed together. I just thought he was very cute and endearing, and that whole motorcycle thing was pretty dreamy, you have to admit. Plus it is rumoured that Paul McGann might appear as the 8th Doctor in one of the specials. That would rock my socks off, as I see it that the 8th and 10th would get on quite chummy, especially with their humorous view on humans and all... Ok done now....

Its fun and I enjoy most of the episodes.
Its very different story telling and overall feel, and to be frank I expected a bit more of Moffat (after Coupling and Jekyll and all those fantastic Who stories in previous seasons). But to be fair, haven't seen the finale yet so I'm not ready to pass final judgment just yet.

I absolutely LOVED the series finale of the current series.
Best finale so far I think, I always found that Russell T Davis would weasel his way out of the end of the finales with some easy quick fitting thing that would just come about in the last 5 minutes.
Moffats two part finale however was so intricately plotted and the ending paid off so well I bloody loved it.
Looking at the series overall though, I feel like it started out extremely strong with the first few episodes but took a pretty big nose dive in the last half, but then the quality was returned ten fold with the finale.
I just wish the last few episodes, bar the two part finale, were as strong as all the rest.
