Well, the articulation doesn't actually look *too* bad imo. It's just the leg/hip ones that are the main eyesores. The likeness is ok, but definitely not beyond what with seen before. It seems to be based on the same (expressionless) scan as Sideshow's. I really hope, at some point, we see a Buffy figure that actually has an expression.

I think this figure looks really cool with all the articulation, the only thing i dislike about the lack of her smiling but thatis not a huge problem I still buy it and I hope they decide to do this with other figures like Illyria and Angel.

This is a customizers dream - a new Buffy head!!!! I can practically see the million head swaps coming up now lol.
I like it - the jacket is cool, again with the hips but it's all gravy - I can almost guarentee that a Spikewill follow this. The hair looks softer, not set.
I dont know why but i think this articulation would be amazing on Illyria as her costume can fit with the odd articulation

Great points Aly.
I could see doing "Super" versions for Buffy, Spike, Faith, Angel, Riley, and Illyria. Bad guys, too, though. Caleb, Ubervamp, Bringer, other demons, Initiative soldiers, and the Master.
I really hope this isn't the way all the figures are going to be from now on... because certain characters just don't need extra articulation. I can't read the article, but hopefully it addresses that.

Wow, I'm really impressed with the facial likeness and hair sculpt. I'm not too crazy about the super-articulation, as I think it detracts from the overall sculpt. I think that was the trade-off though - nice likeness for the sculpt aesthetes; action-oriented for the articulation lovers. Can't please everyone But this figure could be fun though - not one to just plant on the shelf and admire from a distance. I'd have her close at hand to play around with and to pose. It seems many figures we get are geared for more for adult collectors, which is fine, but they can be fragile. If this Buffy is pretty durable under heavy play it could be marketed to the younger fans who still play with the figures. And we need those new collectors to help maintain interest in the line. A cult following isn't always enough. I'm gonna get this one. Unless it's a damn exclusive

I think it's quite obvious that this figure is meant to be separate from the rest of the lines. Diamond has clearly stated that they are interested in staying with MAC's look. I think they're just trying to expand a little and try something new. Like Aly said though, it should be reserved for characters like Buffy, Faith, Spike, Angel, etc, ones that actually would make sense to have all that articulation.
There really is no pretty way to do ball jointed hips, especially on a female figure. I think they did it fine though. The maintained the woman's curvacious figure. For years even people have been asking for a super posable Buffy figure and now that it's here it's all complaints. Like someone said, what does it take to make people happy?
For everyone with the "eews", as JD and others have said, you guys need to give it a chance and at least SEE IT before you judge it. You guys get so defensive right away at the slightest idea of change.
And to the person who compared them to wrestling figures. I know what wrestling figures you're referring to and those, like all wrestling figures, were very cheaply made. There's a reason a Buffy figure goes for 14.99 and people who collect wrestling are complaining when they go up to 7.99.
I think it's fine just the way it is. It's just like the Marvel Legends figures, sometimes if you want articulation sculpt has to be sacrificed and it goes the same the other way around. I for one will be getting this.

I think this could be a real fun figure. I just hope they keep the rest of the figures in the same style as MAC and every now and then add a super articulated figure. One thing that does concern me with figures that have so much articulaion is that they become very loose, but SOTA did a great job with theirs and I'm sure DST will handle it just as well.

This buffy figure looks great. It is much better than the mac one. I love the articulation except for the ball joint hips. To me they don't look attractive. But thats just me. She is an ACTION figure, so it does make sense to have this much articulation. I can live with it. She did fight alot during that scene. As for the facial expression, I think it should be like it is. She wasn't smiling during her fight with faith. LOL

I like it, I do wish the colors were different though. They should use the same style as the He-Man figures for her hips this way it would still have about the same articulation and would look good.

I'm interessted to see if a Faith is made. To me it looks pretty obvious that one will be made. Let look at the facts:
1) The outfit: Already done. There must be a reason they used THAT outfit. I fail to beleive that DST picked such a similar costume to the one used on a previous figure just cos' they thought it was pretty.
2) The Episode: Series finale and a huge slayer v. slayer showdown to boot! But would this figure be pointless without Faith?
3) The Characters: Buffy. Vampire Slayer. Probably the most physical character on television, let alone on her show. Faith. Another Vampire Slayer. The second most physical character on Buffy. Surely she deserves an articulation packed figure too?
4) Faith's outfit: Faith's attire in "Graduation day" was not too different to Buffy's costume in that episode so it wouldn't require many modifications and it could also host the removable jacket that this Buffy has.
If a Faith figure does appear i'd like to see these two shoved in a boxset with loads of weapons (including a bloodless jackal knife) and an appartment base. I don't know why, but to me, that would be much more desirable than having them separately on cards.
If this does all happen a super poseable Angel Spike Boxset from "Destiny" would rock. (And like the removable jacket idea, you could have interchangable vamp faced heads.)
No more than that tho'. It 'd be stupid to have too many figures in this hyper articulated style.

Eliza has got like two cup sizes on SMG so i am not too convinced they would use the same bod for both the ladies. But i could be wrong.

I think it looks more like buffy from Buffy vs. dracula, not the season 3 final episode. I mean look at the hair.
