The hip articulation reminds me of the new Alias figures. Bad!

It looks good. Except for the articulation, meaning the ball joint hips. I like every thing else though. It looks very much like SMG. P.S. OOOOOOOOOOOOO! Jacket!

I feel kinda bad for DST that this is mostly negative feedback. Maybe it was a misunderstading. As I understood it most people wanted the recent figures (Willow etc) to have more articulation...but more like the Faith figure...not this! I really hope they listen to the collectors.

sorry butthat is just plain awful lets not hope its just a one off i would love this to be a none off EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! That is so bad....I defintily won't be buying this figure unless major impovements are made. The articulation makes it look like crap, I would never want to display in on a shelf. The hip area is just the worst. Are toe joints really necessary?? All I have to say is a big.... Ewwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! Here's a thought.... How about instead of judging this now.... we wait until I post the full-size scan like I said I would do tomorrow. I don't normally do this, but if some of you could stop your complaints for one freakin day I would appreciate it. Don't like the articulation, that's fine. This is a PRO-TO-TYPE. Our input will be used to create the final product. So if you don't like it, make a constructive comment. Don't run your mouth off and make some smart-ass comment. K?

And just to add to what JusticeDemon said before I post my opinion; If you don't like the figure, you don't have to f-cking buy it, period. Anywho, I actually think it looks pretty good--even for a prototype. I think it's a neat idea to give a Buffy figure extra articulation, makes her more slayer-like. However, I wouldn't want this articulation on all of the figures, but in this case I think it makes sense. I can't wait for it!

JD's right, first it's prototype and second that what we've been asking for years, yeah her outfit is not new, but it's episode specific, and if they've choose this one their is probably a reason.(hoping for a faith figure to battle this buffy...) and to me her face is not the same as the serie 2 buffy, hair look great, the only problem I see in here is the hips ball join, I think this do alot to the figure over look. Oh and I really want this BUFFY to come with alot of new weapons!! and maybe a connecting appartement roof top base (to go with Faith! I can dream can I?)
All I can say to all of you is to wait until we got more pic maybe from wizard world? to make your final decision on this figure remember if sales or not good, considering the fact that thos is buffy her self, more line will probably not be made..........

Well you can't even see it very well by the picture we have now. Everyone should wait till you can actually see it before bashing. And there are better ways to go about expressing yourself, other than saying "Ewwwwwwwwwww." Like some sort of twelve year old. respect others opinions, and in turn yours will be too.
Don't forget that this is an action figure, so maybe they want to do a few figures separate from the line with more articulation. Thus more "action" possibilities. And yeah, we need a Faith to go with her.

Wow, that figure looks great! I've never been a real fan of Marvel Legends style articulation, but that likeness is the best ever! (Even better than Sideshow's.)

I hope they have this figure in Chicago -- I'd love to actually see her in person. The hips are a little off-putting, but for one I love love love well-articulated figures. I play with mine, so I completely mourn every way they won't bend. This Buffy looks like she's going to be awesome. One thing that I'm really impressed with is how small she is for how much she's going to be able to move. I mean, I'm even impressed with how poseable sideshow figures are -- it's amazing imagining that on a figure half the size. Thank you DST!

look no one ran there mouth with smart ass comments we were just saying what we thought of this some like it some dont deal with it. I will not just "deal with it." You said you'd rather they didn't make this figure at all. Tough crap. You get over it. If you don't like it, then suggest a way to make it better without saying "get rid of all the articulation". Try to actually help the line instead of complaining.

its just ive ive had bad experience with figures like these (mainly the wwf ones) because after a while they just flop over and im not sure if i want buffy to flop lol The new Street Fighter figures from SOTA have articulation similar to this. They have tight joints that hold up well. You can pose them in all sorts of fighting poses, too. I expect to be paying quite a bit more for this Buffy than I would pay for some wrestling figure, so that will allow DST to make sure it's done right.

Well, I would assume, that seeing as this figure is oh-so-different than the existing line, I doubt it will be in like, Series 7 or anything. So if you don't like, I doubt that it's gonna be that big of a deal, we'll probably get more Buffys that are more like the figures you have come to know and love. A lot of people have been dying for a super poseable Buffy, and then a lot of the same people are complaining, you just can't make some people happy I guess. In my opinion, I think that the face is amazing, the hair is great, and that it's a very good idea to do with the Buffy figures. It'd be interesting to see more figures with that much articulation.

With a jacket on, most articulation will be hid & the knee joints are well integrated. The only wonky part is the hip joints, but that is to be expected. (Can't have articulation without joints)
This is a great idea IMO, and makes perfect sense as a one-off. DST (Andy, I think) had mentioned this a bunch of times, but I never thought it would see the light of day.
I'm happy for any new Buffy figure, but it'll be great to have one to pose on my desk. I'm definitely getting 2 (one to open, one to keep in box/on card).

Here are my thoughts based on this picture:
Hair and face look great...wish she was a little less mopey...but hey, that's buffy. I can fix it with paint...
A different outfit would be nice since we already have a version of this one. but it is a very recognizable outfit so i understand the choice.
The poseability looks super awesome.
I wish the hip joints were more attractive. I really like they way they did the hips on the Dark Angel Figures...it would mean some flexible plastic to cover them...and i am not sure if DST would be down with that. If they can't i will live with them.
I am curious what the scale is...she looks larger than the 6" scale.... I hope i am mistaken
Bottom line is that I will buy these...but i would only buy these versions for buffy, spike, angel, and maybe faith. Nobody else really needs uberposing. And i wouldn't really be interested in variants...like if they did angel and spike...i would want the vamp heads in the box instead of having to buy two figures. I am guessing these will be closer to $20 a shot...so less varients means happier me.

I'm anxious to see how the jacket works. It could either be a flexible softer plastic that just slides on like with some of the Lord of the Rings figures.... or it could be like SOTA's Lara Croft and be put on by removing Buffy's arms. Either way, I love that it hides some of the arm articulation.
The knees don't bother me. The hips do. Hopefully they can use a style more like the Marvel Legend's Invisible Woman figure and modify those hips a bit.
