Eliza has got like two cup sizes on SMG so i am not too convinced they would use the same bod for both the ladies. But i could be wrong. LOL I am thinking the same thing

I think it looks more like buffy from Buffy vs. dracula, not the season 3 final episode. I mean look at the hair. I smell an easy custom.

Looks like Graduation Day Buffy to me... (refer to my previous post) I am actually quite pleased with how it looks. A super-articulated Buffy is a great idea...I'm glad DST decided to take it on. I agree that only certain characters should have a lot of articulation. Buffy, Faith, Angel, Spike, Illyria, etc...they'd all be great figures to consider. Personally, I see these figures as a separate line. I don't think they'd be mixed with the regular released figures. At least I hope not...the figures are on a totally different level, so I think it's logical to release them as a separate line. I'll be picking up this figure...as well as any other super-articulated figures they create. -CMK

Personally, I think the ACTION FIGURE looks nice because now she can pretty much beat the crap out of any figure who dares to stand in her way. If Diamond were to make a line of these figures....we would DEFINATLEY have a problem but right now I'm pleased! I've got the Bride, Shu Lien (Crouching Tiger), and Li Mu Bai and they're all looking for a slayer with non-brittle arms to beat them down. And if one more person says "ewww" I will suck all of your brains out for a nummy treat.

The more I look at it the better it looks. Just kinda a shock at first glance. If DST doesn't alter anything it won't take much work to cut down the legs a little and add a thin layer of sculpey and voila, she fits in with the regular figures.

Yay! I'm one of the people who always wanted a super Buffy, and we finally get one! To me, she definately looks more like she's from season 5, but the outfit, even more accurate than MAC's figure, is definately from Grad Day, like CMK said. I can't wait...plus with all the articulation in the hands there's so many more possibilites for accesories. I hope they come with humongous bases.

DST, will you marry me?
Seriously, I love this figure even in its prototype form. The face, expression, and hair are dead f-ing on. I find the pose possibilities thrilling... this opens up a whole new world of options in displaying my collection (which I pretty much have an entire room devoted to). The thought of a new Faith, Angel, Spike, Glory, Caleb, First Slayer, etc. with similar pose ability makes me think 2005 will not come soon enough.
It's a shame this thread was filled with so much negative reaction at first because I don't think that will be the overall opinion of most Buffy figure collectors. Yes this is new. Yes it is different. But that doesn't mean it's bad. They will listen to our feedback (as long as its not "Ewwww" or "Yucky") And DST will make it more to our liking.
And guess what else, true believers? A new wave of Buffys (super-poseability or not) will help ensure continued sales of the line so that you can get that Dawn or OMWF Tara or Riley figure you always wanted.
Does anyone remember getting your MAC Season 3 Buffy? I do. I remember thinking she looked great. Then I set her up on my shelf. And she has been in that same pose ever since (granted... maybe the weapon in her hands has changed) She only really has ONE natural pose. WHere was the "about-to-stake-your-ass" Buffy? Or "tensed-for-battle" Buffy? "Crouched-position-sneaky" Buffy? Or Buffy in mid-gutting Faith mode?
Well, thanks to DST, now she is here. So color me STOKED.
Bring on the Buffmeister's third resurrection!

As long as they release a series of regular Buffys too, then I don't mind this one. Realistically, I am sure they will eventually release a Buffy series, as lovely as the Willow line.
But this figure was nothing we could have predicted, and so it has shaken our sense that we knew what Diamond was about. I imagine it is rather like a spouse waking up one day to discover his or her partner has come out of the closet or something. The realization that Diamond may be unpredictable is causing some intensity.
For myself, that realization that we don't really know if Diamond will come out with a regular series of Buffy figures has made me run right out and buy the Ikon Buffy figure. Perhaps the article accompanying the picture assuages that concern.

Perhaps the article accompanying the picture assuages that concern. I agree completely. This delux Buffy does not offer a chance for a interesting array of variants. As long as we still get a cool new regular Buffy line I'll be happy, but very disapointed if this is what we get instead. Also just wondering, what does "second elbow/knees" do? The elbow/knee articulation we have not works just like real joints, I don't see why the addition.

Buffy and Angel are really the only two lines I collect, so I do not know much about articulation. I think the figure looks pretty great, I don't see why people are complaining....plus, it's Buffy, I love to see her totally articulated, the last two figures are both weird and stiff, with very few poses.

This thing is going to rock regardless of its articulation. It actually looks like SMG (imagine that)....

has too many points of articulation. spoils the figure it's obviously a new type of figure. it's not supposed to look like the rest of them! so the ton of articulation is just to make a figure that can be posed in a ton of different poses, not to ruin the look of the figures or anything like that.

Yay!!!!, I'm so happy. Finally a new Buffy figure that can really kick some vampire asses. I really don't have a problem with the articulation on this figure but I would prefer this being a part of a super-articulated edition of figures instead of a regular release like some of you have pointed out because I really can't see her standing very well, in articulation terms, with the others figures previously released and because if all the toys were going to look like this in the future just wouln't make any sense because of some really don't needing it.

If you're at all familiar with Toy Biz's Marvel Legends line, this will be easier to explain. There are two joints at the knees and elbows. It looks a lot like Mr. Fantastic here (in fact, it's exactly like this):
