Indeed it is. I hope she has a traumatic time. It's jail, you're supposed to suffer. Maybe she'll come out a better person. Now that shows what kind of person you are. Yes. A fan of our justice system. Don't try and pass judgement on me because I'm happy to see a total stranger go to prison like they deserve. You're right, the media has gone to town on making her into a villain. They couldn't have done it without her help however. I don't know her, neither do you unless I'm very much mistaken. She could be the total bitch portrayed in the media, maybe not. Either way, she broke the law and is doing her time.

Did they already finish filming The Simple Life 5, or will it be delayed because of this situation?

Did they already finish filming The Simple Life 5, or will it be delayed because of this situation? Hmmm I have no idea. I hope they allready finished it. From what I know they are at camp for 6 weeks. Maybe they broke up.. not sure and Henz look I dont want to fight anymore about this, but the "I hope she has a traumatic time" was just mean and unnecessary. And judging is what this whole thread is all about. Anyway, I really hope she learns from her mistakes. xoxo

I don't like celebrities, but some just irritate me when I see them on the news or hear people talking about what they've done this time. I find Paris Hilton to be reprehensible.
I agree with the sentiments that she needs to be treated like anyone else. She messed up big time, and she's going to prison (for a short time) for it. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes, and wouldn't wish harm on her... but maybe this will shine a blinding light into her eyes called "life in the real world." Something she could never experience on something like the Simple Life shows that she does.
Getting drunk and then getting into a car and attempting to drive it is nothing to balk at, and it's not something that everyone has done. It's incredibly stupid, selfish, and dangerous. A classmate of mine died in my senior year (12th grade) due to a drunk driver slamming into her family's car from behind. They were stopped at a stop sign... the guy plowed right into their tail end and she died. That's incredibly fucked up and nothing to treat lightly, as though everyone breathes air, or everyone throws stones into a lake, or everyone has tried McDonald's hamburgers at some point in their life. Just saying...

I have no Idea, I thought it's allready on tv. And just to make it clear... I talked to eva on msn. We discussed this whole drink and drive thing because I didn't understand why everybody was so upset about my opinion . (Yeah, I know the risks from drink and driving). Eva told me this is a very serious thing wherever she lives. Sure it isn't here allowed either, but you guys have no idea how much people do this over here. This is a very very common thing, to me and christina (what doesn't mean we appreciate or practice it). Even friends of mine do it, maybe every weekend.... Who knows. So for the future keep in mind She's from germany and I'm from Austria...things are different over here, even the language... So don't mind us for maybe saying something stupid or not seeing things so serious like some of you. AGAIN WE DON'T APPRECIATE IT... And I just have been told this sounds like I would mocking you guys... whatever... All I want to say is "Don't mind us for talking shit cause things are different over here". We love you guys

Honestly, I don't think it matters where one is from. A vehicle here is just as powerful as a vehicle there and a drunk here is just as drunk as a drunk their. Put the 2 together and you have an haunting mistake that is just as bad and doesn't care what country you're in. So the remorse is different, it doesn't mean the consequences are.

It would be interesting to know the laws and penalties on drink driving in different countries.
Changing the subject slightly - I was breathilized when I had a car accident a few years ago. So I pressume that here in the UK this is normal practice for the Police when they are called to a scene of an accident.

I understand what you are saying but if laws are different and perhaps more relaxed in other countries, then of course the people who live there are going to be more relaxed about drink driving, and that goes for any other crime.

I wasn't breathilized when I had a car accident (just for the record, I wasn't drunk, but the accident was my fault) here it is allowed to drive with up to 0.5 per mill

I hadn't been drinking. I never even have a drop when I drive because I dont know how it will effect me. I am not sure what the limit here in the UK is.

Paris Hilton has had her 45-day jail sentence cut in half for good behaviour. The hotel heiress was handed the prison term for violating her probation for a traffic offence by driving without a valid licence. However, she will now only have to serve about 23 days.
She will also be kept separate from the general prisoner population at the Century Regional Detention Centre in Lynwood, California.
Officials considered several factors before cutting the sentence, including the fact Hilton turned up in person for her latest court date.
She will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.
Like everyone else in the 2,200-capacity jail, Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or make phone calls
The stuff above was taken from Sky News.
So she is getting her sentance cut for good behaviour even before she goes to prison!!! Just because she actually turned up at court!!! What a friggin joke.

I thought attending Court was mandatory whatever the crime/offence? Unfortunately it is not. Many people get out of traffic tickets because the officer who issued them do not show up to court and then the case is thrown out. Or people don't show up to court and just pay the fines. Getting a sentence reduced is nothing uncommon at all especially if you plead guilty and you have a pretty clean criminal record (no previous arrest). Most first time offenders for this type of crime are placed on probation. Probation is not an easy thing to be on. For example, Michelle Rodriguez of LOST was caught mulitple times for drunk driving and they finally brought her into court to issue a sentence. She had a choice between 240 hours of community service or a fine and 5 days in jail. She picked the fine and jail and actually was only there for 6 hours due to overcrowding at the jail. She actually now has to serve the community service.

What is communicate service? Is it that bad because she picked jail??? Well since she violated her probation so many times, she lost her chance to do community service instead of getting a choice between jail or community service. Getting your driver's licensee suspended, paying a fine, and performing community service is the probation requirements for the first time being arrested for drunk driving. She didn't do any of those her first time, the second time, the third time, etc... Community service is working for the city without pay. Many have to go out and clean up garbage from the highways or streets. Some are even allowed to tutor school kids if they are qualified. A few celebs doing garbage duty are Boy George (drug possession) and Naomi Campbell (drunk driving, I think or attacking someone with her cell phone). You do the crime, you do the time.

You are very knowledgeable Eva, do you work in Law? Especially the rhyme about crime and time Oo... Yeah I was wondering that too My brother obtained his degree in criminal administration and volunteers at the police station once in a while. When he lived in California, he helped developed the stop against domestic violence program for the city of Mountain View. His best friend is also a probation officer.
