I'm thinking that she deserves this as there are too many celebrities that because of thier status get away with everything. This is showing that they aren't in favor of any one no matter who they are and breaking the law is breaking the law. Yes she is an attention getter and I agree that she drinks too much and craves attention but this is in no way to get attention. She should think before she does things anyway, she should read before she signs anything just as any person should. As for the whole everyone drinking thing and getting drunk at least once or twice, I never have. People do have morals and responsibilities as far as getting drunk and driving right after. You shouldn't drink and drive it's as simple as that, you could be endangering someone elses life and just because you are popular should give you no reason to be any different than anyone else. As far as the Paparazzi are concerned, they are literally everywhere. Paris is one who poses for the Paparazzi like no one else because she craves the attention. If you don't want to be shown to the world as an a$$ then don't act like one.

Well I would not be drink driving or pretend to be drunk just to get the medias attention! If it was a stunt then she must be mad! I would never ruin my character/reputation or go to jail just to get attention! ruin her reputation. o is that the reputation for being a slut and having it splashed around on Papers and the Internet, her name has always been assosicated with being trashy! I think she got what she deserved, but she will probably get off on appeal because she is "Famous".

I hope that she learns a lesson from this and will think twice before getting behind the wheel of a car drunk or does anything else illegal, like slamming into parked cars and fleeing the scene. More than likely, it will probably just earn her "street cred" and she will come out of prison with a new gangsta look and record a rap CD about her life on the inside. The girl does have a knack for turning her problems into profits.

I can hate someone of my family, friends, people from work, people who talk bad about me or my friends ect. but I wouldn't waste my power to hate a celebrity. I would change the chanel on tv or skip the page in the newspaper if I wouldn't like that person. I just wouldn't spend my time with that person than. But I don't think it's fair to make that person bad to other people who actually like her.

I think don't think people "hate" her, but dislike her by what the media says. The only things we know about Paris comes from the media, so we dont really even know who Paris is. The media skips out on all the good things, and goes in straight for the kill. Although I do dislike her very much, I dont actually hate Paris, because I dont know her

She made herself into a product of the media. She built a career from a life of party-girl stupid decisions and home-made porn films. She was wealthy already, it was her choice to pursue fame. It's not THAT hard to go about life unseen. She could keep a low profile, but she chooses not to. She's treated harshly, but is always on any form of media she can cling to to tell the public this. I respect that she may well be a nice person really, but as long as shes found doing stupid things under the influence of alcohol, I don't care. I don't hate her. Frankly I'm surprised she gets so much defending, especially in this thread where she BROKE THE LAW. I think everyone hating on her here is just happy her money hasn't allowed her to escape normal justice.

OMG we all broke the law, Ive stole something on a store too when I was younger, I drive without a license too... who cares.. Noone is perfect. Even your mom and dad got a ticket once, I bet. Noone said, poor Paris, I don't want her to go to jail. If that's the law, then it's fine. But I DON'T want insulting comments no matter who it's about. Also, like I mentioned before, if you don't like her, don't make her bad for people who does. Look at the comments on Youtube, "Paris we know you. Youre a fart in a mitten you damn SLUT!" That is what it's about, and I'm not gonna accept that on here.

I know what you are saying Hansi about breaking the law, but a car is a dangerous thing if driven recklessly and when you drink and drive your senses are not as good and it is a great possibility that you could actually kill someone and/or even yourself. Whether it be Paris Hilton, The Queen or the guy next door - its wrong, and its against the law. Stealing from a store isnt going to hurt anyone, but drink driving is a different matter.

I'm not a fan of Paris Hilton, mainly because her persona is very selfish and snotty. She is a really bad role model for girls, making the ideal being skinny, shopping incessantly, and being sleazy. She's also well known for not just drinking but doing a lot of drugs, too.
However, when I first heard they were sending her to jail I thought it was unduly harsh. Lots of people get DUIs and the penalty is usually a suspended license, drunk driving classes and community service.
Then I learned the details. She's not going to jail for the drunk driving charge, but because she drove after her license was suspended and hadn't signed up for the drunk driving classes for over two months after she was supposed to.
I still think it's a really harsh sentence. Prison is really scary and awful. But anyone who drives with a suspended license faces the same charges. Paris has enough money and lawyers to know what she was supposed to do and she didn't do it.
It's really awful that she has to go to prison. Frankly, it's irritating that people go to prison for this kind of thing but not for much worse crimes. But she could have easily avoided it by having a driver. She's very rich and could afford that for the few months that her license was supsended. I mean, she's constantly under public scrutiny, so it seems like she'd be more careful than most.

Well, its in the nature of human being selfish.. some more some less. But that's a good point, I read at the newspaper she allready got some breakdowns ect. because she's so afraid of jail.

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6637855.stmUnbelievable. If a petition by her fans actually has an effect on her appeal outcome, then really it makes you wonder what kind of world we live in. She broke the law and she had been warned. Letting her off would be star treatment - sending her down wouldn't be star victimisation.
