A long time ago, we had the idea of having a Buffy Book Club. It initially had an enormous response, but nobody seemed to pay much of an interest in it afterwards.
I think we could make it work if we tried it again and everybody agreed to make sure they read the book. It'd be a really fun excuse to catch up on old Buffy Novels, and discuss them.
Is anyone else interested in starting this again?

I would I've read most of the books, but that was awhile back I probably forgot most of the plot lines by now, lol. So I wouldn't mind rereading them. Count me in! -Jess

I haven't read any, but have been meaning to. If there's a book that sounds appealing, I'm sure I'd read it and join in the discussion

I've not read any of the books, but have been thinking I might if the library has them.
Would you read them in release order or chronological order?

Count me in...gives me something to read...a reading project...lol. I just bought an Angel book for $1 (I bought over a dozen different ones a couple months ago for my ebay mystery boxes) at the Dollar Tree...but I got a book in the mail, and haven't started the Angel book yet. Now, I think I might wait...just in case we do this...

Would you read them in release order or chronological order? Depends what people want. Maybe just a variety from a spectrum of seasons.

I'd be interested! I've read a few Buffy books like Sweet Sixteen, Crossings, Coyote Moon, Night of the Living Rerun and I am currently reading Queen of the Slayers. It would be cool to discuss the books. Great idea!

I tried to read the Lost Slayer foursome but got frustrated with it, so I didn't even finish the first one. LOL. The only one I've read all the way through was These Our Actors.

I'd be interested!!
Plus - what about a regular book club too? Where members could pm an organizer there favorites or suggestions and one could be randomly chosen every month - people could buy or borrow the book from a friend or library to read and then we could have a discussion. That could also work for the Buffy one too!!
I hope this works out SE!

What about having a separate part of the forum just for the books? Then there could be separate threads for each book. That way, if someone hasn't read a book yet, they wouldn't go into that thread and get spoiled.

I LOVED the lost slayer foursome. My favourite buffy book/s out of them all and Iv read most of them. These our actors was kinda crpa though. Id love to join but I have a load of books to read for english including an extremely boring one called 'metaphysical poetry'...urgh.

Hey...I love metaphysical poetry...lol. If you need help, give me a holler!!!
I'm going to see if the library has any of the Buffy books but here in rich, spoiled kid land? I doubt it. LOL. Stupid Bible belt...lol. You never know, though. =)
Plus, you can always, ALWAYS get cheap lots of the books on ebay. I may just do that if we get this started.
Should we start with the first book in the series?? What does everyone think? Which should be the first book we tackle???
I'm with Stakey...please don't let it be 'These Our Actors'...it really WAS crap. LOL.

Someday, I want to hear some more about Erin's experience with metaphysical poetry...
but I think any of the books are a good choice (though I agree about 'TOA')
Maybe a new one? Or, we could always make a poll if people suggest 4 or 5 and then people can vote??

Sounds like a good plan. Maybe start the poll?? Get suggestions? I'm watching a bunch of book lots on ebay right now! LOL. I'm getting started, who else is getting vamped (pun intended)

That way, if someone hasn't read a book yet, they wouldn't go into that thread and get spoiled. I'd say go for that set-up, and make one for every book right away. I think the reason the last one died was that people couldn't all finish the same book at the same time. Life gets in the way. I think it should be left as an open discussion on every book, for whenever you happen to read it. Because of the nature of a messageboard, people really don't all need to be posting about the same thing that week.

Yay book club! I would suggest a poll, maybe stick with a shorter book first? That way members arent discouraged if a few people finish it really fast and are ahead of people. I'm sure not everyone has time to read a really long Buffy/Angel book, so a fair sized one would probably be best IMO so everyone can participate
