The black round thing is the wall plaque. I think that if it were lying down it wouldn't look so could displayed. I think the reason why no one is replying to the post is because so many people are tired of waiting and tired of being told a different date all of the time.

I REALLY want this, but I just don't think I can muster up the cash for it. Do you think it will ever go down a little in price? And yes that is the disply plaque behind it. Depending on the weight distribution and how it is attatched, they might have made it so you can display the scythe either way.

I REALLY want this, but I just don't think I can muster up the cash for it. Do you think it will ever go down a little in price? There's always the chance that they'll go up in price, not down. When LMTD by CAS purchased FactoryX and other assets of Palisades, they purchased all inventory--e.g., all the Scythes already produced. But they didn't purchase the licence to make Buffy props--licenses are usually non-transferable, so if they want to produce more Scythes after the initial batch sells out they can't unless they negotiate their own license contract. So the question becomes, does LMTD care enough about the Buffy prop line to renew the license? Maybe they do, in which case after the initial batch of Scythes sells through there might be more runs. But if not, or if LMTD does get the Buffy license but decides further production of the Scythe isn't financially worthwhile, whatever Scythes are already produced may be all that are ever produced. Depending on the number of Scythes produced, and whether or not there will be more runs to replenish the channel, prices could possibly go up rather than down. I'm not saying that'll happen; it's just one of several possible futures.

Now, when LMTD purchase the Prop license did they also purchase all items suppose to come out; ie the Urn and Anyankas Amulet?

Now, when LMTD purchase the Prop license did they also purchase all items suppose to come out; ie the Urn and Anyankas Amulet? Just to clarify what I was trying to say, it's been discussed on other boards and people not related directly to LMTD or FactoryX, but in the licensed collectibles industry, have said that licenses are generally not transferable and that LMTD only has the right to sell FactoryX's existing inventory of already-produced items. That is, they cannot make new items, including new production runs of already-released items, unless and until LMTD renegotiates a Buffy prop license. So, LMTD did not purchase a Buffy prop license when they purchased FactoryX. Such licenses are non-transferable. They only have the right to sell whatever existing inventory FactoryX had already produced, unless and until they renegotiate a Buffy prop license. So, nothing that isn't already sitting in a warehouse can come to market unless LMTD has already negotiated or will negotiate that license. I could be mistaken, but this is what I read on a prop collecting forum and on Sideshow Collectors. And for all I know, LMTD may have already renegotiated the Buffy prop license. But until we find out for sure, don't count on anything new being released.

But why buy Paliscaes exisiting stock? I cant imagine it will be easy trying to sell x amount of $300 scythes.

But why buy Paliscaes exisiting stock? I cant imagine it will be easy trying to sell x amount of $300 scythes. Why *wouldn't* they buy Palisades' existing stock? They probably have millions of dollars worth of various products warehoused and at the factory--Scythes are only a small part of that. That said, they most likely plan to renew FactoryX's licemsing agreements for whichever lines they consider worthwhile, as well as using the FactoryX brand for new product lines in future. All I'm saying is, unless and until LMTD by CAS renegotiates the Buffy prop license, they can't make additional Buffy items or additional stock of already-released items. That's true of every other FactoryX line, too. That's how licensing works--from what others in the licensed collectibles industry have said, licenses are not transferable and need to be renegotiated when a company changes ownership. Again, for all I know LMTD may already have renegotiated the Buffy license. But if the Buffy line isn't one that LMTD is interested in continuing, then they're not going to bother and the Scythe and all existing stock of other items could be all there will ever be of the FactoryX Buffy line. I'm not saying that'll happen. I'm just pointing out that just because FactoryX still exists as a brand doesn't mean it will continue to make Buffy prop replicas.

If i can pipe in here. I talked with LMTD by Cas at Toy Fair. If you want a scythe, you're probably better off buying it sooner than later since there aren't a lot of them. Diamond got their allotment before LMTD by Cas picked up theirs (remember, Diamond became Palisades' distributor so all of Palisades' orders turned into Diamond's). The guys at LMTD by Cas said since they began selling the scythe it has been selling extremely well and they gave us a number, that escapes me at the moment, on how many scythes they had left. It struck me, at the time, as not very many.
As for the other Buffy props...the voice box, the urn of Osiris, Anyanka's amulet, etc are still intended to be produced but will be delayed. As somebody mentioned, the licenses have to be renegotiated with Fox and that's what will be happening in the coming months. This information is according to the guys running LMTD by Cas. Now, whether the negotiations work out or not is another thing but they do intend to work on them.
The news for the Series 3 Palz and the plush stakes is not good. They don't think these will see the light of day. So...don't expect these out at any time.
They have all the other Buffy props that were produced except the Slayer's Cross which is now sold out. If you want a cross you'll have to find a retailer that still has them. I know that we just ordered more orbs from them.

I really, really hope the T&ST BCC gets a good allotment, because that's where I have my pre-order in. If after this ginormous 1+ year delay in the product release I lose out due to the vagaries of chance, I'm going to burst and scream the most vile and obscene curses I can muster at the steaming ruins of Palisades' incompetence at messing up a sure winner which should've been their top priority for FactoryX. I guess my agitation at the possibility of not getting my Scythe order fulfilled is apparent. Maybe I should put in a second order elsewhere to increase my chances...

I ordered through T&ST BCC and paid for last March; I ordered holloween Palz on same order and didn't know that I would be charged for the whole order when the Palz shipped.

Okay, I am replying to my own question... the BCC e-mailed me back within 2 minutes of sending them a question and said they expect them in this week and expect to be shipping the same day. Anyone who has ordered will notice the extra 10 dollars in shipping to be charged (as stated at the time of pre-order).
WOOT!

Got an e-mail a few minutes ago about the extra $10 charge, saying they expect to ship this week. Yay! I plan to hang it on my prop weapons wall, crossed with my Luke ROTJ lightsaber, near my Faith knife, Mal pistol, stake and crossbow. At last, my arsenal will be complete! ;D

I heard back from BCC and they confirm that the Scythe is shipping this week. I even got the extra $10 charge, so now I know I'm one of the lucky ones who is getting one! They indicated that the supply is lower than expected, but hopefully everyone who ordered one will get one.

Oh and just to add the weight was 15 lbs. That's when I knew that it was the Scythe, when my Buffy Becoming Bust shipped yesterday and I was hoping that it was the Scythe, it said that it was only 3 lbs. I can't wait to get this and put it on my wall next to my Sword.
