It's hard to tell from that photo, but it even looks like his neck is sagging. Actually, it looks like it's just a bad recent scan, where they caught him squinting and furrowing his brow, and the sculptor (who is the sculptor, anyway?) made the big mistake of emphasising that instead of picking a better scan. I know DB's not as young as he was ten years ago, but that looks more like him in another ten or twenty years. I agree about the scan, and the neck. But David now, especially in photos ive seen of him from parties etc in the past few days, he looks great, nothing like this. This photo especially, this is from Bones, Season 1, judging by the restaurant. Look at him here, he looks NO different than he did as early Angel, his hair is a little different is all! Take these photos for instance, sure he looks a little older, but id take a sculpt of him here, over this sculpt anyday www.slayerverse.org/svggaldeluxe/details.php?image_id=37635www.slayerverse.org/svggaldeluxe/details.php?image_id=37641Im just praying that they will change the sculpt. Even if they got David in for a scan now, it would look better than this one. He has no apparent wrinkles on his forehead like the sculpt Wayne

He doesn't look too bad. I think they need to remove the wrinkles on his forhead though. It a great likeness and everything, but unless Sideshow is going for the frowning look, they really should remove the wrinkles.

He looks in desperate need for some botox. The problem I have is that he just looks incredibly old and far from the iconic look David held throughout his Buffy/Anel stint.

The best sideshow Angel we have so far is the City, Of Angel. The smirk, the face is awesome, but the hair and eyes are what lets it down. The paintjob isnt great on the 12" version, but it would look awesome on the PF. They need to get the eyes like they are on the photo shown below. Heres what i mean, if they used this head sculpt (and englarge it, like Sueworld2003 suggests) and gave it paler skin and ephasised his big, brown eyes, then id buy it instantly. I consider this head sculpt, almost perfect. With a few tweaks here and there it could work well. What does everyone think? I think this head sculpt is pretty accurate to David, HELL, i could even settle with this hair sculpt, as long as the paintjob is applied well, he could make an awesome Premium Format Figure Wayne

Ok, dont shoot me, but i went on photoshop and tweaked him a little, just to prove that this figure has the potential to outshine even spike. Ok, so i put the image into photoshop. I changed the skintone to be more fleshy then pink. I then smoothed out the wrinkles on his forehead and smoothed out the crease on the top of his nose a little. Then i smoothed out the lines either side of his mouth and nose, again not completely, just a little. I also got rid of his sagging neck, just at the side. BUT the main thing i changed was the hair. I got a photo of david, cut his hair off and put it on the figure, now i know that a sculpt wouldnt be as accurate but you can see for yourself how much the hair is throwing the likeness off. So here he is I also went a step further and added a leather jacket. Again, i know the real thing wouldnt be this accurate. but you must admit, this is the Angel we all know and love. So things that need fixing- in my eyes are: - Wrinkles in forehead
- Saggy face and neck (minor)
- Skin Tone
- HAIR (Most Important)
If he turns out anythink like this, ill buy him instantly Wayne

As i've said on the sideshow board, i hate the pose. He's all hunchy and looks like he has no arms. And it looks like his old knees are about to give way. Out of all the cool poses they could have chose....
The jacket looks very grandpa-ish too.
And the really pathetic part?? I'll order him.

I said i wouldnt order it unless they changed it significantly, but the truth is, its Angel. How could i resist. Plus, i couldnt leave Spike all alone! I dont think hes a hunched as he appears. I think his jacket is riding up and away from his neck, making it look like his neck is pushed outwards. But didnt Spikes pose get changed slightly? Ive gotta say, i love his sword and the way he is holding it Wayne

I'm disappointed in it, but i'm like you, i'll get it because it's angel (and i already have the other two). Here's mr-hunchy-no arms-old fart-angel: He looks so old...not champion like at all. I doubt he could fight all the other old foggies at the supermarket trying to get the last packet of depends.

I'm so with the pair of you on this! He looks sooooo bloody old, and about to keel over at any minute!
Thing is, if I got him, it would only be to do some extensive work on him myself, which defeats the point of buying him from another company somewhat.
Many folks on the Sideshow board seem to love him, so maybe I'm in the minority here, I dunno.

Well, the pose isnt the best, BUT i do love the armsm the way he holds the sword. Im still convinced that the jacket is riding up, making his back appear hunched. At the moment, the way the jacket is sitting makes him look like he is thrusting his hips forward but not in a good way. It makes his body appear bowed from head to toe. Im pretty sure that its his jacket making his look hunchedBut dont forget, in real life David does hunch, so it makes it that much more authentic Also, i dont know because my Spike hasnt arrived yet, but does he look like this from the side? I havent seen a photo of him from the side. also, im sure Spikes head hangs forward like this too! Wayne

I hope it's just the jacket, but you'd think they'd make it look better for their pictures. If they are having the statue professionally photographed, you'd think they'd be clipping or taping the jacket so it fitted his body better. Here's spike side on: At the moment, the way the jacket is sitting makes him look like he is thrusting his hips forward but not in a good way. You're so dirty! Maybe they can make a buffy (or spike) bending over...at least then the pose may work!

Both this one and the Spike figure has some weird shit going on with them when it comes to posture. Spike appears to be leaning to one side too much to be able to defy gravity for long, and so does Angel.
Angel suffers also from bent knees, and the arms clasped back so far it look unnatural somehow.

I think the problem with Angel's face are the wrinkles...not only on the forehead but under his eyes as well. Also, the eyebrows are way too think even for a male figure; and the eyes should not be as wide. I did a small editing by replacing the forehead and eyes from the 12" version, combined the eyebrows with 12" (50%-50%) and made his entire face smooth and wrinkle-less: I think it can easily improve the likeness - the question is; would Sideshow bother.

If his face looked like that, i'd be much more likely to overlook his pose and big woolly coat! I just don't see sideshow changing it at this point (but then again, they did fix buffy's hair, so who knows).

Oh dear god thats soooo much better already!
Sadly, unless everyone 'kicks up' about it, I doubt they will re alter the face at this late stage. Some folk seem to like 'grandpa Angel' as he is, so I doubt well get this 'fresh' look.
