Well, we already have plenty of Buffy characters done by SS, and we only have three Angel characters. I was really looking forward to getting Gunn, Wes, Fred, and Illyria. I really hope something changes, and they get back into this line.

I really hope something changes, and they get back into this line. Gunn would have never happened. 2 out of those 4 were almost guaranteed. Take a guess as to which ones. SS would much rather cater to the Star Wars fans at this point which is sad. Oh well.

I really hope something changes, and they get back into this line. I feel the same way. I didn't have much interest for the Buffy figures outside Spike (which now costs too much.) So I was really looking forward to the Angel line cutting back on a few things so I could get these figures. So I was very disappointed that we only got three Angel figures. I wanted Gunn, Fred, Wes, and Illyria too. I also wanted another human Spike, a teenage Connor, a human Darla (maybe a human Drusilla too), and a Doyle. I was planning to do some customs so now it looks like my list got longer.

I hope they make an Angel PF. Disappointed that Wesley, Illyria, Anya, and Dawn will not be made.

Does anyone actually believe the line is just put on hold, and that they will make more in a year or so? I wonder why they just didn't cancel it outright? I guess to avoid hate mail?

This is bewildering news, since all the recent figures have been selling out from them - therefore they are obviously still making money and have a strong following of collectors!
The Angel line had barely started and pivitol characters like Wesley, Gunn, Fred, Illyria and human Darla have all been neglected. Popular Buffy choices such as Dawn, Tara, Anya, Glory, Human Dru and... more Buffys seem to have been ignored too.
I think 'put on hold' is just a euphemism for cancelled personally and even if they do continue the line, it will be with PF Figures which are high profit and low production numbers.
Very upset by this news, since it seems to have come (not unexpected as we haven't had any 12" figures announced for a long time) but instead, just out of the blue.

Yeah, the last 7 or so figures have sold out. Ugh...its so annoying because its obviously due to their aquisition of the star wars and LOTR licenses which they are focusing on and can sell out larger production runs and charge more for. Oh well, we will have plenty of DST merchandise to spend our money on...

I just got started with the 12" figures, so I was looking forward to new ones, since I pretty much have all the released ones I want.
I wish they had said something like they were putting it 'on hold' but would still be releasing a minimum of 1 per year. I mean At least that would be something and would keep the line burning. If they have it on hold for to long, they might as well just have canceled it.

The last few figures had fairly low edition sizes 1000-2000 so they are no where close to being as profitable as the earlier figures. I have no doubt that at least an Illyria or Anya will sell out with a 2000 edition.
Sideshow is putting most of their effort into Star Wars, but not so much in LOTR. As a LOTR collector, I fell that they are exceedingly slow at getting Premium Format and 12" product out that this line will eventually die out.
It somewhat gripes me that when plannig out a line, companies will make sure that there are multiple versions of the leads interspersed with obscure bit charactors when most fans of BTVS want all the core charactors. When the line ends suddenly, we BTVS collectors will end up with gaping holes in our collection.

I feel like their whole business plan is kind of weak and says more about them than the license or the product itself. Personally I find ordering from them to be a pain... the limited editions and spacing out of releases means that you can hardly ever buy more than a single item a time to save on shipping, unless it's one of their really unpopular figures like the poorly done Willow. I also find it frustrating that they won't do another human Spike figure despite astronomical demand for one. Maybe they should try that and see how much they can make from that!

It really seems rather strange that there was such fanfare from them for acquiring the Angel license to have it end so soon. With Angel they really had the opportunty to do figures that have never been available before. I always hoped someone would do a Doyle with an interchangeable head (or maybe even the same thing with Jasmine). And, certainly Victorian Versions of Darla, Human Dru, Spike would do well too. It's disappointing that it seems we will never get a complete Victorian Set.

If they made human victorian versions of all four I would get them! That would be so cool. As it is, I didn't pick up the Angel, but I sure would if they had all four of them.

I picked up the Angel and would love the other 3. I think there are only so many Spikes to do so he would have come eventually...and Darlas iconic look is the victorian one and the original is doing so well that she would have been a no brainer...and Dru did so well that another verson wouldve been nice as well...
oh well

Buffy magazine Issue 93, 3 page special. Lorne and Giles are the last figures as the Sideshow range is being retired.
They have a blue-suit Lorne to release as a special but no details of when.
PF range will continue indefinitely (yeah, cos all the fans can keep shelling out $250 a pop), next up is Angel.
So, all this business about put on hold is a crock!

I would love to have a Becoming human Darla to go with my Becoming Angel, and a Victorian Bloody Spike from Fool for love would be great with a human Drusilla from the same episode. But a least I would want a modern human Drusilla and Darla, from Buffy for Drusilla and from Angel for Darla, I would be very happy. I have the vampire ones, and I like them, but I want also human versions !

It's truly disappointing when I saw the great job they did with Victorian Liam and Vamp Dru, the costumes were wonderful. I really had high hopes a set of the 4 Boxer Rebellion figs.

That really sucks. I love my sideshows Hopefully they will reconsider but their focus is on Star Wars now so theres not much hope. At least now it will be easier to start collecting the statues...

What is most annoying about Sideshow putting the Buffy 12" line "on hold" isn't that it reads as 'canceled' - it's read 'we basically are canceling the line, but we don't want to give up the license.'
If they had canceled the license, that would mean that another company would be able to pick up the rights to do 12" figures. It wouldn't be sideshow style figures, but would still be something.

This really ticks me of with the whole "on hold" stuff. I can't afford the Statues and I never collect those anyway. What is most annoying about Sideshow putting the Buffy 12" line "on hold" isn't that it reads as 'canceled' - it's read 'we basically are canceling the line, but we don't want to give up the license.' I hope so, any ideas on what company would buy it? I have heard some talk about annoyed fans that are planning on banning together to finish the line by means of customs. Other than that I haven't heard anything else.
