I always use a hair dryer for swapping parts. I only use boiling water for curing sculpey. Both work well, but with a hair dryer I've found that you won't burn yourself and I've never broken a figure using a hair dryer. If you have a hair dryer, simply put it on the high setting and blow it on the neck joint of a JR Spike and (as Newton said) either a S5 or BY Spike neck joint. After a minute, pop off both heads and just push Spike's head pin into JR SPike's body. I hope that helps.

I got my blood drive Spike in the mail the other day. I won him off of Ebay for $52. Still kind of pricey, but I guess it's less than the $75-$100 I've seen it go for. Usually, I take my figures out of the box, but considering what i paid for him, he's staying inside.

BTW, I found out at SDCC that w/ this version of spike being exclusive to this release, this classic spike cannot be released in another format (ie I asked if there was a chance of a three-pack w/ Gunn, this kind of spike, and an equivalent human-faced/leather jacket angel, and while they weren't up for it in general, they could not in regards to spike.) Just something I didn't know. That puts paid to a Hell's Bells two-pack I guess too. Though they might be able to do a Not Fade Away bloody Angel/Spike or make-up running wedding dress Anya from the last shot of the ep.
