I don't have a problem paying $125 for this limited edition Triangle Tara figure, personally signed by Amber. It's a beautiful figure of Tara. This is a fundraiser. If you don't want to support Amber then don't buy the figure. Benson Entertainment is NOT trying to rip anyone off. Amber has always been extremely generous to her fans. She deserves to be treated with respect. I placed my order

I'll add the picture of Triangle Tara now. Let me start off by saying the details of this offer were a complete surprise to me. I am disappointed the price tag is this high, but as CMK1887 has pointed out... this is not outrageous when you consider you're getting a personalized autograph AND a very limited figure. I have no doubt that Amber will be able to sell all of them. Having said that, I want one. I don't want to pay that much. It is a little encouraging that the figures are beginning to merge with more "mainstream" Buffy merchandise, as that will help keep the line going. Here's my suggestion. From now on, any time DST produces an extremely limited or expensive figure... let the fans buy it. I suggest that after DST has three such figures out that they make a box set containing all three. In this case, it would be a box set containing Triangle Tara, SDCC Dark Willow, and World Tour Willow. Make a couple thousand (they're all repaints after all) and sell them on the DST site for $29.99 each. No bases, no accessories, just the hard-to-find figures that completionists need to continue collecting the line. These box sets would come out long after the first "Super Exclusive" and would be in a different packaging style to differentiate them from the original figures. That way, Amber could still sell personalized individually carded figures (and still sell out) but fans would still be able to get them for a reasonable price. I'll work on it. I would love a box set like that what a great idea. I wouldnt care about accessories I just want the figure. Get workin' JD!! WORK WORK WORK!! LOL! I would prefer to have a different sculpt, but DST said no since they werent sure how Tara would do..that is right, right? Anyway, if these do sell well then the possibility would be open to pants Tara OMWF Tara and even others and we all want those. I think if these sell well (not Triangle, but the others) then we would most likely get other Tara's since they are open to re-doing figures. But that is just my opinion.

Wow, just read this and I can't believe that price. $125.00 for a for profit figure? I can see if she was giving some of the money to charity but she's keeping it herself for a "in production" movie? 2000pcs at $125 is $250,000.00!!! A quarter of a million dollars for a plastic figure? She's gone batty!

Amber is not trying to rip anyone off. It's true that $125 is a lot for a figure, but it was made specifically as a fundraiser for Amber's second film. It was never intended to be made available in shops like the other 3 Tara figures, so you shouldn't look at it in the same way.
It's unbelievably expensive to finance a film independently, and I admire Amber's efforts to continue to do so. She has been extremely generous to her fans in the past, and I don't think that her efforts to raise funds for her second film should be used as a reason to discredit her in any way.
If I could afford to buy the figure and support Amber's film, I would. But since I can't, I'll have to settle for the other 3 Tara figures, which is good enough for me. (Somehow though, I don't think Amber will have any trouble selling out of these figures fast.)

Now if the money was for a charity then that would be a different story, but this is just for her to make a movie. Personally I can't believe Amber would do something like this. It seems greedy and feels like she is taking advantage of the fans. I agree 100% percent. There's no way she's gonna move 2000pcs of this figure. Who talked her into this? Cinequest must be getting a cut of the credit card processing and they're probadly behind it. It would be pretty funny if it wasn't so insulting. This is not Sarah Michelle Gellar or Alyson Hannigan we're taking about. PS I was her first movie, "Chance", and wish I never bought it. It was pretty embarassing.

Ok I got to put my 2 cents in on this. Start Rant here:
Amber has been outstanding to The Make-A-Wish Foundation and our event Slay-A-thon. She has gone out of her way for us and I can understand everyone is upset as I am for I will not be able to afford this figure. But the figure is exclusive and yes I know it is a repaint and all however part of this problem was started in a secondary market on the figures from SDCC. Base price at SDCC for T-1 was 50 bucks signed, on Ebay it just went for over 300.00 so with this in mind 125 is minor if this had been only available on Ebay none of us could touch it. So maybe we can put a few bucks together and raffle one here on the boards.

I agree with other board members that she'll never move 2000 pieces at this price; I don't think she'll move more than 500. Eventhough its expensive, I paid more then this for WTW but that was at a time I thought the Toy Fair exclusive will be very rare.
I amost believe that in about 6-12 months, these figures will be avalable at a much cheaper price, I think they'll go for $60 to $80 (unsigned).

We'll have to see how well sales go. If people are willing to pay $125 for a personalized autographed figures... then we're out of luck.
I think it is more likely, as stated above, that the first 500-750 will sell. This will leave them with a lot of figures left over and a limited market. After that, I think we'll see unsigned ones being sold for a more acceptable price.
I will be contacting Benson Entertainment with this proposal to see if we can get some unsigned figures (100-150) for forum members at a reduced cost.

Sorry for my negative that I'm going to post. This figure if it does sell out will set the tone for pricing for future exclusives. How long will it take for other companies to up their prices when these sell out at that price. Also, collector of playmates star trek figures know what happened when playmates introduced their 1701 limited figures, their line crashed shortly after. Completist and others simply could not afford figres they wanted and lost interest. Releasing the limited 3 1701 figures later did not help, collector felt it was too little too late. Hopefully amber will come to her senses and sell an unsigned version at a reasonable price.

Base price at SDCC for T-1 was 50 bucks signed, on Ebay it just went for over 300.00 But there were only 25 to 50 pcs of that figure, not 2000! Even the Boxed White Willows no longer get that price because of the 1000 pcs. Plus the resale value of a figure personalized with "To Billy" would be way different than the signed 50pcs T-1.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this. You can bet all the Amber fans are going to buy anything like this no matter what the price, which is a shame. But, I can't see them selling out very quickly.
