I think he means that not everyne customizes, so It would be nice if we could have something to help involve non-customizers into the forum I really want to work this into the challenges too. One idea I've thought about is having a customizer randomly matched with a non-entering member, and creating that person's dream figure...maybe a swap thing, charity, or commision type of project. Also making teams to have customizers make figures from fanfic writers, or have people who can do computor art make techno-customs. There are a lot of ways to incorporate other members, but to do it we'll definately need events of some type.

Will the beauty of a Monthly Challenge, is that it could encorporate the entire forum. Perhaps it could have its own section? Say if we had an April Dawn Challenge...fan fiction writes could produce some stories based on dawnie...fine artists could do pictures...digiartists could make binis and wallpapers and banners. And customizers their figures....its pretty open. Even for customizers as it could be in palz size, shivi's minis, sideshow size, 6" figs, ornaments, busts whatever...no restrictions there. And i say no prizes or voting at all...perhaps a particpation prize given away randomly maybe...or no prize at all would be fine as well.

I love your idea Alyrenee sounds like a lot of fun and I like that all members with their own favorite interests would be involved in the same theme

Sorry for responding a bit late, but Aly, that is an awesome idea. Its like a whole big forum thing...like a parade float where everyone has their own part. It could involve almost any member. We should definitely look into having this done in the forum, it would be a blast for everyone.

I would like to suggest that on the left hand side of the screen where user name, gender, and location is displayed, that along with that info, the poster's age also be listed. Personally, when I am responding to a post, it would really help me as to how I should respond, if I knew the age of the person who's post I was commenting on. I may respond differently to a post if I knew whether the poster was 35 or 12, see what I mean. Just a suggestion: put age or year of birth with the other user info, please.

I don't think that is needed because it doesn't really matter what age the person is, we are all buffy fans. The forum has an age limit anyway does it not? I know a member that was told to join again in a couple of years when he is older, and he is back now. I'm 15 but i think i'm very mature for my age and wouldn't like to be singled out because i am one of the younger members on the forum. It wouldn't bother me that much its just the way you phrased it- Why should members be spoken to differently because of what age they are? If you mean by like using bad language like swearing, i'm sure every member swears..I know i swear like a trooper in real life. I don't know about anywhere else but there are 4-5 year olds who live in my street that swear more than me and i think that is disgusting that their parents let them use language like that. But anyway

I think what SlayerLover meant, and I'm not sure but like words and tones. The topic may be something more of a fifteen year olds generation and maybe you want to use hip lingo. But you wouldn't want to do that with someone in their forties or something. I know a few adults who are very uncomfortable when that sort of lingo pops up. They're all like "What did he say?" I don't know though. I do agree though. If you have something to say it shouldn't matter on an age.

My suggestion: Is there anyway to get music for the forum? Like each page could have a different song. I went on a forum a few months ago and they did that. Each thread you would open had a different song from this soundtrack. But wouldn't it be neat to go to the home page of the buffy site and hear the main theme of that or angel, then click on the fanfiction theme and hear "Going through the motions" and then click on the sub thread in that and hear "Final Score"

I can imagine having to sit there waiting for the page to load, and it would take extra long becuase the song is loading too. So I dunno...

I wouldn't like that either. I listen to music when I'm on the Internet and it would muck that up. It would also slow down pages loading for a lot of people. I don't think it would work very well.

Okay...maybe I am being a bitch...but the customs section is still driving me crazy. Maybe we should do it like some other customs sites where each customizer starts JUST ONE THREAD and then whenever they have a new custom...they add it to the thread and then change the title...noting which page the new custom is on...or better yet...make a little directory in the first post (like MsBig has done with the first post of the challenge threads...). I am happy that there are so many of us being so productive...but I think people aren't seeing everything because stuff gets pushed back so fast...
Doing something like this will also make things much easier when it comes to all the year end customs awards. We could start a new thread every year...or every six months if they get too beefy.
We also might want to have a separate section/subforum for non Buffy and Angel customs as it seems we are all looking to other things at the moment for custom inspiration.

I thought that's what we're suppose to do. I've taken that example from firerancher. She has one thread with all of her customs.

I think that would be a great idea aswell. It may take some time but it would be worth it. I know I spend ages sometimes looking for older customs that I love. But it would be a lot easier just maybe adding like a contents on the first post linking to the page where the new custom is located.

Well I think now...its suggested that if you are posting more than one custom on the same day than you should only post them in one thread. But on other sites...you have ONLY one thread and always post in that particular thread. I just think each customizer having one thread would realy be the best for all. Plus it would be really cool to see the progress everyone makes in a year. Especially for the new customizers!

I really like that idea Aly, personally has a new-er customizer and not that great at it, I feel my stuff does get quickly pushed aside and it dosn't give me the chance to get the feedback to help, but with your idea there is a fair chance for EVERYONE to get equal feedback. Now... I have an issue with the fan fiction section... I feel like it is SO underused and here is what I think should happend: - The fanfiction and fanart should be seperated, together they are a mess and really should be on their own. - The fanfiction section should be slit into sub-forums: - Jossverse FanFiction:
- Fanfiction dealing with Buffy, Angel, Firefly or other series in that.
- Other FanFiction:
- Anything outside of Buffy, Angel or Firefky.
- Virtual Series:
- A virtual series is a fan fiction series that has more then 5 episodes (that would be a requirement to post in there) with so many VS BtVSFigs has, its only fair they are highlighted.
- Poems/DollShows/Misc:
- Poems to anything else that dosn't fit in the other catagorys. Like Dolls shows...
- Promotional/Introduction/In-Work:
- A place to promote up coming series and or episode plus any un-finished peices.
- A closer eye on the fan fiction section, making sure people don't post random and incomplete things. Alot of people seem to post just act 1 or something of there series and walk away, and that really should be stopped... I don't know why I feel so strongly for the fan fiction section, but I do feel it is being underused and should be spanded out more.

I agree Digilee. On the customs page, there are already things on page 2 that are from yesterday and such. I think the Fanfiction Area is really being neglected. I also wanted to apologize, I think I broke the rules in that area with my poems. Sorry everyone. But I love your ideas Digilee.

I agree to! Alot of new posts are lying empty, but there are people reading them. Like last year, the fan fiction section was one of the most visited sections on the entire forum and people used to post in all the threads and help others to improve. Now everyone may be a fan of someone else's work, but not show that and not leave feedback, and it does bring a writer/ digital artist down. I know its not only me that feels like this but i agree that something has to be done. I'm guilty of it myself. I have been recently reading DigiLee's SOCF, and haven't yet posted on what i think of the season, but thats because I'm not finished reading yet I'm not saying, if you look, you must post. But it really would help the people posting since they are sharing their great work with us all. Good or bad, i think you should post either way, pointing out the faults to help them next time around.
