And the stupidity continues... Why on earth would people think its OK to reboot something that: 1. Ended no so long ago 2. Still goes on in other formats As Joss brilliantly said - people just don't have any more original ideas so they are milking the things they know were successful. IMOH, they should have tried something different, a different slayer perhaps? Existing on Joss verse but not involved with any of the original characters? Would that be so bad? Doubt I'd be watching it....but either way, this is a very stupid idea.

I'm gonna watch it. But wait they said it's about Buffy? But has nothing to do with the show? Is it like a reimagining? I just want to see how it's going to turn out.

Oh, that will be interesting. I read an article that said Kristy Swanson mightpossibly be involved with the project, don't know in what way though.

I think it just needs to be retooled so it's about a different slayer, not Buffy. That way if the film falls flat on its ass it won't ruin Buffy, but instead that slayer. Or at least have them get a really good writing staff. Also look at how successful the batman reboot films were, Batman Begins was good, but The Dark Knight was amazing! I think it should be done, mainly because I wanna see if it turns out to be good, bad, or mediocre.

That could be a pretty brilliant idea. Plus, it would tie into the end of Season 7 because now there are technically hundreds of slayers. It would save the time of having to explain who had to die so she could become a slayer.

Then again I like the idea of either Heather Morris or Diana Agron to play Buffy.

I don't know why people believe that Buffy can be only Sarah Michelle Gellar, I think another actress can give new perspectives to the character.

I don't know why people believe that Buffy can be only Sarah Michelle Gellar, I think another actress can give new perspectives to the character. Because, and I do only speak for myself, I was 12 when the show was first aired in germany/austria, and I followed it every week. Im 25 now, thats 13 years I was attended by Buffy, Willow, Xander, Cordelia, Giles and Angel. I laught and cryed with them. I dont want to see anyone trying to take over their role, its just not right. They shall call the movie Blondie the Vampireslayer and its fine. See the Dragonball movie... The anime was a #1 worldhit, people used to love it. The movie was crap. It had nothing to do with the anime, and IMHO they were not able to resemble the unique charakter of Goku. I imagine the "buffy-movie" to be pretty much the same. They may have new and better special effects, but I think the name Buffy belongs to Sarah Michelle Gellar only.

I don't really see the problem with them creating a film based on Buffy. I will always love the television series and i'll see the film as it's own entity. Let's face it the majority of Buffy fans will watch it anyways, and I'm sure they will go to every effort so it's not as bad as the original Buffy film. Really it makes sense for them to re-do Buffy right now as vampire programmes dominate television. Personally I'm curious to see how it pans out.

A new Buffy film might help promote a new line of figures ,that can't be bad. New fodder to work with?
