Yeah, she's not bad...but I don't think the likeness is spot on. I'll be interested in seeing their Jack. CO's new Jacks could be a good replacement for him if he doesn't turn out well.

Shame they only have 5 points of articulation though, but I guess for a little company thats quite good going.

Where do you get the 5 points of articulation from? I didn't see where that was specified.

Hmm...is it just me or does Gwen body reminds some other female character that appeared on Partners In Crime? And yeah, I never heard about the articulation either...have I missed something?

I just found it over on Doctor Who Forum. Scificollectors said that they would probably have 5 points of Articulation

Based on the small/fuzzy picture, Gwen appears to be a major improvement over the other two figures. I'm definitely interested in picking up Gwen if the final figure manages to look about the same as that prototype.
As for articulation, I was under the impression the articulation would be identical to the Doctor Who figures. The Cyberwoman/Lisa appears to have been sculpted with elbow and knee articulation in mind, although I'm not sure how the standard "T" articulation would work with her hips as sculpted. The Weevil seems to have been sculpted with the least articulation in mind since it is pre-posed, but they can still work in decent articulation.
Looking forward to seeing if Jack is any different to CO's latest Jack figures.
Cheers.

I'm really impressed with Gwen. She looks just like top-quality CO work to me (PVC jacket and hair). I'm now REALLY excited about this line! I think the likeness is dead on excpet for the size of the eyes, Eve Myles has huge eyes. I still can't imagining them topping the CO's new Jack unless they get a REALLY good face sculpt.
And I can't imagine them not marketing them without CO type articulation since it's so similar otherwise, and I'm sure they'll want to compete with CO's Jack.
Any news on when these are due?
I definitely see what you're talking about Lior, though the waist of the jacket is different.

I'm in love with the Gwen figure.
Just hope the final product can meet the quality of the proto.

Loving the Gwen sculpt! But only 5 points of artic.? That will kind of suck. Well, it will really suck! And I hope the gun isn't stuck to her hand.

I'm sure the 5 points is not true. I can't imagine a figure have that little articulation unless it's pre-posed like McFarlane or Neca. It would be outrageous for a neutrally positioned figure to only move it's shoulders, neck, and legs up and down. Like I said, the company has expressed the desire to market these with the same customers of the Doctor Who line, and the Gwen already resembles COs work greatly. I'm so excited!

Well articulation makes them more expensive to produce, and since it came from the horses mouth it must be true. I thought I would be more bothered by that, but its not like I pose my figures really anyway.

SPOILER AHEAD Surely if speculation is correct, and the team will all be appearing in the Who series 4 finale, then that means they could be made by CO anyway? So might be worth waiting to see if they make a Gwen and Ianto too. I doubt that they would be allowed to.Even if they were , it would be a little unfair on the makers of these figures anyway. All of the figures are looking great so far and I can't wait to get Gwen. There are some really good female Who/Torchwood figures coming out soon with both Gwen and the new Martha.Hopefully , this trend will continue and Toshiko,Reinette and Lynda Moss will come out this year as well.

But surely them making Jack is also unfair by that standard then?

I don't play with my figures...I don't do much posing either...
But still I am saddened to hear of the limited movement.
The Doctor Who figures were much more limited in their POA at first, hopefully if the line does well they will be able to add more movement in future waves as CO did.
The lack of articulation doesn't turn me off these at all though. I'm still excited to be receiving figures from Torchwood.

But surely them making Jack is also unfair by that standard then? Jack is a main character in Dr Who though and as a result a lot of people would buy both versions from both companies. Some wouldn't though but I still think that a lot of people would. However, not that many people would buy different versions of the Torchwood team ( unless they were in completely different outfits like Gwen in a wedding dress) so there should only be one available. As they are primarily Torchwood characters, they should only be in the Torchwood line

I think you hit the nail on the head Sam, if the line carries on then the quality can only improve, its like comparing the sycorax leader to the warrior in the CO line. These are available for preorder from FP now, but if you preorder direct from scificollector you get the four figures for £35 and free shipping in the Uk.

I LOVE the Gwen figure.
the other two dont seem tht great to me, weevil needs a some more detailing on the face sculpt wise I think. And lisa the cyberwoman looks slightly off, her face is a little too cartoony. she almost looks a bit fan made.
Gwen however is great. Love her.

Yeah!!! The site is back up!
I am VERY impressed with this Jack figure. I think the sculpt is better than the new Dr. Who one...either that or it is painted better. The new Dr. Who one has really red lips, this one look more natural. I like his stance, it looks more like him in Torchwood...with him looking up a bit.
