Not sure if its gonna catch as we pretty much discuss all Who related stuff in the other thread but lets give it a try.
So, any ideas when we'd see images of the first wave?

When we spoke to the people from Sci-Fi collector over at the Who forums, they said the most likely first set would be:
Jack Gwen Weevil

I thought it was confirmed to be those three plus Lisa the Cyberwoman...but maybe I just got confused because she was sculpted but not confirmed to be in series one...

I'm patiently awaiting these :-) I'm patiently awaiting the figures... Rather impatiently awaiting some proto images!! ;D These should be very interesting to see. It's not the be all & end all that they can mix with the CO Who figures for me, but I hope they do or many fans will feel let down. Plus Sci Fi Collector did mention many times they are the same overall scale as the Who line...& include Plinth bases (which could be very cool).

Both Scificollector on Outpost Gallifrey and random James Marsters fans are reporting that possible prototypes of the first wave (Jack, Gwen, Weevil, Cyberwoman, and A BLOWFISH!) were on display at the back of the hall at James' Union Chapel gig last night (which might mean they'll probably be on display at Collectormania this weekend), and James' manager and scificollector both confirm that they're currently sculpting on a Captain John (JM's character) figure for a future wave. So, bonus for us, this opens up the possibility for good 5" scale Spike customs. OG link (find scificollector's posts towards the bottom of the page) www.doctorwhoforum.com/showthread.php?t=158311&page=11I'm hoping someone took photos...

Humm...I find them fairly underwhelming... The Weevil is rather boring, but Lisa is decent.

They look pretty good for articulationless prototypes.
of course, it's disappointing (though expected) to only be seeing Lisa and a Weevil at this point. From the quality of these, I'm wondering how the Jack will compare to CC's new one.
Exciting! I can't wait to see Gwen, and then Owen, Ianto, and Tosh!

Very cool.
They don't seem quite as nice as the CO figure, but they are only proto's as yet & they still look good.

Yeah, hopefully these protos are not representative of the final product. The paint apps are a bit too simple, making them look more kiddie than the CO toys. And hopefully there's comparable articulation.

I'm hoping the final product looks less like a toy you would find sitting in a box labelled happy meal.

I look at the protos and think, could be better. When we see the production sample I'll make my mind up. All I will say is if you want perspective go and dig out picture of the originalRose and 9th Doctor from the Battle Packs.

After all the hype, I was expecting a little more from these figures, especially the Weevil.
I'm also concerned by the fact that "production" figures typically look worse than their prototypes.
Still, I will wait and see what the final product looks like before I decide whether to purchase or not. With CO's new Captain Jack and due to the recent "changes" in season 2 of Torchwood, I'm not sure I'm that interested in building the whole team (of course, I'll have to get a Spike/Brainiac/Captain John if he gets made).
Cheers.

SPOILER AHEAD
Surely if speculation is correct, and the team will all be appearing in the Who series 4 finale, then that means they could be made by CO anyway? So might be worth waiting to see if they make a Gwen and Ianto too.
