Fans of horor films have been waiting...and waiting...and waiting for the release of the film Trick R Treat. It was scheduled for a release Halloween 2007. Then it was scheduled for a release (at least theoretically) Halloween 2008, but that's not happening either. But even without the film seen by most fans, Sideshow has released their 15" vinyl collectible based on Sam, a key character in the film. I really like Sam. He's a great, creepy, weird looking little bugger, and once you pull off the burlap mask, you realize just what you're up against. Nice sculpting and paint combined with a cool design make for a great figure for Halloween displays, or for a friend for your vinyl Chucky doll. With all this Dark Knight talk, and what a great version of the Joker that Heath Ledger created, we might forget that there's a comic book version too, and he's been pretty damn cool at times as well. DC Direct just released their 13" Deluxe version of both him and Harley a week or so ago, and I'm covering them both tonight. I look at the Joker at MROTW, and (appropriately) cover Harley over at QSE. You can find links to all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.comIf you're a fan of sixth scale stuff, you'll enjoy Thursday night's review too, and if you're a fan of both sixth scale AND the Dark Knight, you'll probably enjoy Sunday night's review. It’s more sixth scale tonight – and more on Sunday night too! There’s a new company in the market: Amoktime. These folks are retailers who are making the jump to makers, and they are focusing on the great B movies of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s to start. They’ve already announced a ton of licenses, ranging from Blacula to I Was a Teenage Werewolf. Their first release is Gort and Klaatu from the classic The Day the Earth Stood Still, particularly timely since the film has been remade for release later this year. My review of the pair is up tonight, and there’s lots of good with just a few minor issues. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.comThanks for reading, and have a great weekend! It's an all Dark Knight night tonight...starting with my review of the fantastic Batman and Joker from Hot Toys. Yea, I knew they were going to be good, but I'm still blown away. The Batman is particularly sweet, surpassing even the Takara version from a couple years ago. Yea, the Joker head sculpt isn't a perfect Ledger, but it's still mighty good looking, especially the hair. The guest review is from Tim Thomson, and covers the Mattel Movie Masters versions of these two guys. They came out awhile ago, but Tim noticed I had never ran a review of the pair, and figured he'd help out. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.comThanks for reading! Michael MWC

Foom has a face! Thanks to the help of my readers, I was able to finally get my She Hulk, thus completing the Hulk Marvel Legends wave and the related BAF. If you remember, I covered the first four figures in a review last month, and so tonight I finish up my review of the whole wave by looking at She Hulk, King Hulk, The End Hulk, and Son of Hulk, along with the big guy himself, Fin Fang Foom. I also have a guest review up from Jeff Parker, who is putting his own take on the Hot Toys Joker and Batman figures. While we both appreciated different things, it’s interesting to see that our assessments came out pretty close in the end. While the current market is chewing up and spitting out companies, Symbiote Studios has managed to produce some pretty cool items at very decent prices. If you're a fan of the cartoon Dr. Tran, you'll want to check out tonight's review of their bobble heads based on the hilarious cartoon character. Even if you aren't a fan, it's worth checking out to see the quality and price that they're able to manage. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.comThanks for reading! Michael MWC

Some folks love ‘em, some folks hate ‘em, others just don’t get it. They’re Mighty Muggs, particularly the Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs, and my review tonight is mostly for the folks in the first group. I picked up the new Monkey Man, Mutt Williams, and Professor Jones Sr, and I take a close look at all three. Some of the individual characters don’t do a bunch for me (like Mutt), but the beauty of a collectible like this isn’t in the individual but rather the collective. Particular character might not be all that exciting on their own, but in a group they look great. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.com Thanks for reading, Michael MWC

Damn you Crawford! I had no interest in these...but now I think those Muggs are fantastic & would love Professor Jones. ;D
How cute are they...awwwww.
This is the first time I have really looked at them...I kinda assumed they would have holes in their head so you could use them as a mug...but they are not 'mugs' at all!
I hadn't seen you review of the Hot Toys Joker & Batman until just then. Holy hell they are beauties. $160 or not, I think I will have to track down Bats & a Joker.

It’s the all nudie review tonight at MROTW! Well, not quite…but close. I’m looking at the new sixth scale female body from Triad Toys, the Otaku. They supply her with a bikini to allow her a little dignity on the peg, but it’s the kind designed for maximum wardrobe failures. If you’re looking for a replacement body for some of your female figures, or looking to do some customs of your own, it’s worth checking out this new entry in the market. Jeff Parker checks out another nude body – the Hot Toys TrueType. His is not really a review, but rather an overview, giving the highlights of the articulation and design. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.com And I probably forgot to mention it earlier this week, but over at Quick Stop, I looked at the current McDonald’s Happy Meal line, the Star Wars bobble heads. I love the large 18" (or quarter scale figures) especially those that don't cost an arm and a leg. Sure, I have my fair share of Sideshow's Premium Format figures, but the $50 or so figures that we've gotten from Mezco, NECA, Sota and others hold a special place in my heart. Mezco's latest 18" Hellboy is the subject of my review tonight. He has a very different coat, three different head sculpts, a new Right Hand of Doom sculpt, and comes with Big Baby as well, making him quite a bit different than the original Hellboy movie version in this scale. I had a couple very specific issues that pulled my score down slightly, but there's no doubt that this is a mighty cool figure. The guest review is from Jerry Reed, and covers the G.I. Joe VAMP vehicle. You can find all the reviews at the usual: www.mwctoys.comThanks for reading! Michael MWC

It's been awhile since we had any Cult Classics, but series 7 is now out, and I picked up Stuntman Mike and Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice has some minor issues, but overall is a good figure that fits in well with your cult movie shelf. Stuntman Mike...not so much. There's a guest review from Jeff Parker as well, covering the Hot Toys quarter scale bust of the Dark Knight Batman. I learned some things from this review, so you just might too! Great review! I'm sorely tempted to pick up BeetleJuice. Will you be reviewing Mezco Heroes Series 2?

That Beetlejuice is pretty cool.
I don't think I'd buy the figure by himself, but if they added some other characters I would be up for it.
Or with this kind of line, do they generally just make the one main character?
The Kurt Russel figure is ok...nothing special. The regular non glasses head is nicer. I don't think I've seen that movie.
Thanks Mike.

I hope you haven't gotten overloaded by Indiana Jones merchandise quite yet, because much of the best - from companies like Sideshow and Medicom - is yet to come. Tonight I'm looking at the first release of the Gentle Giant mini-busts, the Raiders version of Indy. This isn't the regular release though, but the GenCon exclusive from earlier this summer. Unfortunately, it's not going to get anyone too excited considering all the great Indy stuff that's available these days. If GG wants to have another hit like their Star Wars line, they're going to have to work at it a bit. The guest review is from Jonathan Mullins, and he looks at one of the aforementioned companies, Medicom. He loves their Star Wars Shocktrooper, and gives it the once over. You know, I think I've had enough Indiana Jones, Star Wars and even Dark Knight stuff for awhile. How about something completely off the wall? How about the Ace of Cakes Duff Goldman mini-mate! If you're a fan of mini-mates, you'll be interested in the huge number of unique accessories (ten!) that come with Duff. If you're a fan of the show, you'll love having a kitschy version of Duff for your desk. If you're a fan of both, your life will be complete. Also on the slightly unusual side, I have a guest review up of the Lanard Ultra Corp Plague. Matt Patraw checks out this cool 12" military figure.
