I don't see that anyone has posted this yet, but the end of Palisades looks to be official: toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=174&itemid=8719Mike Horn, President of Palisades Toy sends out this information about the future of their company.
"I regret to inform you that after more than 11 successful years, Palisades Entertainment, LLC has discontinued its business of manufacturing and selling licensed and proprietary action figures, collectibles, toys and other goods. This development parallels a general trend within the toy industry, including the bankruptcy of one of Palisades’ largest customers.
Palisades has sold a substantial portion of its assets to another industry player, an affiliate of C.A.S. Iberia, Inc. named Limited by CAS, Inc. That company will continue the sale of certain of the brands that Palisades developed, including the Factory X line.
The sale transaction did not include employment for me or my wife Kate, who many of you know. Consequently, neither Kate nor I will be reachable at the buyer’s offices, nor will we have any ongoing relationship with the buyer.
I don’t have any plans for the immediate future beyond enjoying life with Kate and our children, until I figure out our next chapter.
I’d like to take this time to thank all of my friends and colleagues, and in particular, the team that helped me build and nurture Palisades for so many years." So it appears Factory X props may continue, but Palz and other Palisades toy lines appear to be ending.

This is such a shame. While I'm not too sure on the other lines, we know for certain that the Buffy line had sold exceptionally well - particularly Series II. It's just criminal that we're now missing out on the best Faith that we've seen in plastic form, not to mention all the other future Palz. Although, I guess Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining (Everybody loves a Cliché! ) because at least Factory X may have a future with the Buffy Props. Sad News, though

This is so sad. Actually, I was going to sell my Palz a while back, but I decided not to, since I liked some of the ones in season 3 and was going to buy them all anyway so I could have the snake Mayor. Now he'll never see the light of day.

I never got Spike.
Can you still buy PALz anywhere now before they end up costing a fortune on eBay?
They were so cute.
Damnation.

I hope someone will rescue the Palz just because they are so darn cool. I'm not into the whole block figures thing, but I love them. I've bought every line and have nearly ever Palz figure made and am eager to buy more. Like I said over at the Palisades board, I don't say that to diminish the difficulty a lot of their staff is going through right now, but to just say how much I appreciated the work they put into their toys and what a positive impression they've left on me and so many others. I just want to keep buying their stuff.

He was the last of the Buffy PALz I needed. I really hope some one picks them up. At least series 3, cause that was going to be so awesome...

I have high hopes that DST, or someone, will pick up the PALZ line, since they are very popular, and DST is known for the X-men mini-things, so I do see them going with PALZ... though, I'm not sure if they would keep the same idea per series...

X-MEN MINI THINGS? lol Yes, DST does make Marvel Minimates but all of DST's minimates(Marvel, Street Fighter, Indymates-Kabuki, Witchblade, etc.) are not just a DST thing. The're a partnership with Art Asylum, so I don't know if that would effect it.... But DST would be the best if they could pick up this line. Its really popular and I don't see why it would be a problem. It would be great with all the rest of their buffy liscences.

They're too cute to be killed. It would be like...murdering elves. Not the LOTR elves. The little ones. Santa's. The shoemaker's.

I received this in email...which seems to imply that they have Palisades' client list. We'll be heading to Toy Fair and hope to find out at that time what exactly they acquired from Palisades...if they don't tell us before. ------------------------------------- Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Limited by CAS, Inc. Acquires Assets of Palisades Entertainment, LLC. Newly Formed Company Will Present at International Toy Fair in New York City, February 12 – 15, 2006 Sale Creek, TN, February 1, 2006: Limited by CAS, Inc., a newly created sister-company of CAS Iberia, Inc. is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of certain assets of Palisades Entertainment, LLC. including both trademarked names, Palisades Toys™ and Factory X™. The Palisades Toys™ and Factory X™ product lines will combine with CAS' existing LMTD™ line to offer a diverse line of licensed, pop-culture products to the toy and collectibles industry. Action Figures, Cold-Cast Resin Statues and Busts, Prop Replicas, and other products based upon high-profile licensed properties will be produced and sold under the LMTD™ banner. This bold move by CAS Iberia, Inc. comes on the heels of the official spin off of Limited by CAS, Inc. into its own company late in 2005 while continuing to offer licensed products, distribution, and related services to the toys and collectibles industry as Limited had been doing since 2nd Quarter 2005. By acquiring the assets of Palisades Toys™, Limited by CAS greatly strengthens its licensing, design, marketing, manufacturing, sales and distribution services to both retailers and fans of not only Palisades, but of the entire toy and collectibles industry. “The opportunity to bring these two companies together under one roof is intended to create an intense and energetic distribution company along with an industry leader in the licensed toy and collectible market...” Jeff Epperson, President and CEO of Limited by CAS, Inc. and CAS Iberia, Inc. “I have been involved with the collectible toy industry for over 12 years and I will always be grateful for the friends and opportunities it has afforded myself and my family. I expect great things from this partnership--the fans of our great products should as well.” Michael Horn, past President and CEO of Palisades Entertainment, LLC. More information and future plans for Palisades' loyal fan base including new offerings from both the Palisades’ Collector's Club and Factory X™ websites will be announced as soon as possible. Certain key personnel management from Palisades will be joining the LMTD™ team, and all involved intend to have LMTD™/Palisades business in full-swing by early-to-mid-February. Many products being offered for sale throughout 2006 will be on display and available for order at the Limited by CAS booth (No.2979) located in the Javits Center during the 2006 International Toy Fair being held February 12th – 15th in New York City. --- ABOUT LIMITED BY CAS, INC. Additional information is available via the company website at: www.CASiberia.com This is exactly the kind of company FactoryX's assets needed to be acquired by; so, there's still hope for the Buffy prop license to thrive, and we should hear more at Toy Fair. Of course, if Palisades/FactoryX was telling the truth before about shipping the Scythe in February, I'm a bit miffed at the timing because this almost surely means another delay. It's only been delayed what, 15 months and counting? Sigh... I should've just dropped $500 on one of those unofficial replicas that guy in Britain was selling; I'd have had it for nearly 2 years now. But for the long-term viability of the Buffy prop replica license, this is *probably* a very good thing. We'll see though. If CAS plans to continue the Buffy line, it'll probably have Buffy props on display at Toy Fair. If Buffy props are conspicuously absent but other FactoryX products (Underworld, etc.) are there, that'll be a bad sign. At any rate, periods of corporate transition often lead to delays and uncertainty. We can only hope for the best.

I'm mildly encouraged about the future of PALz, but the prop fans obviously have to be very encouraged right now. I'll just hang on to whatever shread of hope might exist that we'll get to see more PALz. By all accounts, the line was a success and production and development costs can't be that extensive. Pretty, pretty, please CAS!
Ah, a boy can hope.

It's somewhat funny that there is a press release just days after that action-figure.com article stated that they generally don't do press releases for companies ending. Does anyone know what the bankrupt major retail partner mentioned here is?

From reading both articles, it does not state that palz is over... I mean.. it says they will continue to distrubute their popular toys... PALZZ!! I am still very skepticle about them quitting, i really think that this store is smart enough to pick up the palz.
