With all these new horror movies being released, i thought it would be smart to start the one thread, instead of threads for each movie being created for no reason. I am a big horror fan! I don't really watch any other genre of movie as much as i do this one. It is the thrills that just keep me hooked! News On New Horror!Past Horror Movies Can Also Be Discussed Here!

I can't wait for Pulse because, hello, KRISTEN BELL!!! Some of those looks weird, like I Always Know What You Did Last Summer I mean, do we REALLY need another one? Oh well, thank god its only to-dvd.
Grudge2, is SMG in it? Or is she dead in it?
Never mind! So she dies... hmm... weird. I liked SMG in it, and now she is like. dead, but I like the new lead actress too.

The Decent - This sounds okish, not good enough to watch in the cinema though, but it sounds like something i'd buy on DVD, if it get's good reviews. I like the poster, nifty!
Grudge2 - I like Amber but i didn't enjoy the first Grudge movie at all, it was boring... the end was stupid, the only good thing was SMG... i have it on DVD but only watched it once. I doubt i will see this one.
TCM2: The Origin - I like gore and the remake was very good, so i'm curious. I hope it's a good movie.
Saw3 - I loved the first Saw, but i still have to see the second one.. they are moving fast with these! (or i'm just very slow)
Pulse - Don't really know about this one, it might be good.... i believe it is very The Ring ish?
I Always Know What You Did Last Summer - Love the first and second of these, but will it be any good without Jennifer Love and Freddie? I do like Brooke Nevin though, but what is up with the DVD/poster art? is that official? cause it looks very cheap.. and just overal bad.

The Decent - I'm actually going to go see it tomorrow
Grudge2 - I think the movie is gonna be cool, I love the first Grudge movie and the poster for this one looks awesome
TCM2: The Origin - this ones gonna be awesome I've seen all of the other TCM movie and liked them, the only thing is that it's not called "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Origin" it's called "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" it's written clearly on the poster.
Saw3 - The 1st and 2nd ones were awesome I think the 3rd will be too.
Pulse - I think it looks really good it's based off a Japanese movie just like The Ring and The Grudge
I Always Know What You Did Last Summer - I can already tell ya this one will be cheesy. I just have a feeling about it.

the only thing is that it's not called "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Origin" it's called "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" it's written clearly on the poster. Opps! Thanks for pointing that out. The Origin was its working title Sammie, i suggest you go and see The Decent. This movie has actually a UK production and has already been on the screen and is now on DVD. I got this on DVD for Christmas! The reviews were very kind over here. The USA thought the movie wouldn't do so well over there, but with such a positive reaction from UK fans, they have given it a shot, with an edited ending. I would like to see the US ending compared to the original UK one. With the Grudge2, i think the trailer reveals way to much info! I hope they will cut this down a little. Still dying to see it though!

I've just seen the trailer for the Grudge 2. Yes it looks very repetitive and predictable but a hell of a lot scarier than the original! I agree with you, afer, that the trailer gives too much away but I'm still very excited to see it. If I don't watch it in the cinema then I will inevitably get it on DVD. I'm glad Sarah is going to make a brief reappearance.
Saw III looks positively horrific and terrifying, and rightly so. That's what made the other two stand out from every other horror movie. I'll definitely watch this one with my friends though because on my own I think might just die.
TCM2: The Beginning looks good also. The first one is one of my all time favourite horror movies and I own it on DVD. While the plot looks the same, I'll be curious to know more backstory and let's admit it... anything with Leatherface will be terrifying.
Not liking the look of the I Always Know What You Did Last Summer. The sequel was bad enough (cool but cheesy), this one though... ugh.

I saw The Descent today.
It is. . .ummm. . .visceral.
The first half is incredibly slow. It goes into detail about a bunch of girlfriends that are the adventerous type. Then tragedy strikes. Jump to a year later when one of the girls in getting back on the adventure horse, so they all get together in North Carolina to go spilunking. They go to an unkown cave and hilarity ensues.
There are some gruesome parts. One of the worst was a girl falls and breaks her leg. In order to get a splint on, they have to get the bone back in the leg, and they show it. It's that kind of movie. Big on blood. Big on things jumping around the corner type scares.
If you can see it for free, go ahead, otherwise wait for somebody to rent it.

The Descent. Go see it! Its amazing. One of the best movies I have seen. Made in the UK. Similar to The Cave (they were being made at the same time) but way better. Only lighting in the movie once in the cave is from the girls headlights. Everything in it is real. Their reactions to the creatures wasn't acting. It was real. They didn't know what the monsters were going to look like and saw them for the first time and they used that shot for the movie. Its an amazing movie. Reccomended! It is very visual though. The bones part for one. The pick thing through a neck. Pools of rotton blood that looks very real.
I will definatly be seeing Saw 3. I loved the first two. This one looks amazing.

Oh wow! I didn't see this! I LOVE Horror films. I think you and I have quite a lot in common afer - I agree with a lot of what you say, we share a love for Buffy/Angel, Horror Movies and I love Willow and Dark Willow even more - which you seem to aswell. But Top 5 Horror Movies - thats tough!
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original + Remake), Halloween 1+2, Hills Have Eyes (Remake), House Of Wax, Carrie, The Shining, The Haunting, Rose Red, Scream 1,2,3 are some of my favourites. Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday 13th first films (and maybe a few after) were good but then they just got silly.

Top 5 1) TCM (Remake) 2) House Of Wax 3) Wrong Turn 4)The Decent 5) I Know What You Did Last Summer This Dark Ride seems alot like a rip of HouseOfWax- College students- abandoned place- stalked and killed. But maybe this is a good thing since i loved House Of Wax

Ok - slightly off topic here but how amazing would House Of Wax figures be? I would so buy them. And hello Chad Micheal Murray and (see banner ) PARIS HILTON in plastic! I could give her lornes microphone and play stars are blind. Woo! (I'm sure for some people that's scarier than ANY horror movie ) Scream figures aswell! Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell in plastic! And there would be a chance of a Sarah Michelle Geller figure or Rose McGowan figure too, more so Rose than Sarah. I'd love to see another company tackle Sarah as a figure .. Hmm I hope they make Grudge figures now, then we'd get a new Sarah!

Ohh.. i think i know about the descent! There was this interview with a Dutch girl on TV a while back and they mentioned her being in a new horror movie, now i remember it was the descent... I don't know if it will be in cinema here (or maybe it already has been) but the reviews seem good, i might buy it on DVD if i spot it.
My top 5? that's a bit hard, it changes, but the ones that come to mind right now
1 Saw 2 Scream 3 Final Destination 4 Aliens 5 Hollow Man (can that be put under "horror"?)
But i also like I know what you did last summer (and the sequal), the other Screams, Resident Evil, TCM (remake), Sixth Sense, Hannibal.. probably more i can't remember right now

Scream seems to be pretty high on everybody's list, but in the UK, they re-ran all 3 scream movies and me and my friends were laughing! I think at the time of it's release, alot of people were freaked out, but compared to horror movies today, i just don't find the trilogy scary- At All!
Is this a favourite because it you find it scary? or is it plainly the plot?
