Hi, my name is Matt (aka JusticeDemon).... and I'm a Buffyverse Action Figure Addict.
I can't help it, I like the little buggers. I still remember getting my first MAC figure in 2000 (a Red Pants Willow which I ordered from Another Universe when it first came out). I don't know why, but I never opened it. I put it in a box and forgot about it for a few years. Then I began collecting other figures from the Buffy line. I would buy one or two on eBay every now and then, but only the ones I really liked. I never opened any of these either. It was odd, because at the time I had no intention of collecting the entire line, but I still didn't want to open them.
Well, I soon realized I had made the right decision. Over the next two years, I obtained every Buffy and Angel figure ever produced by Moore Action Collectibles. I bought them on eBay, from online vendors, from other collectors, directly from MAC's website, and from my local comic shop. I customized some of the duplicates I had acquired, too. Not only had I gotten one of every figure, I had also gotten multiples so I could finally start opening the ones I liked best. MAC had announced more product in the future, and I was looking forward to adding about 50 more figures to my collection in the fall of 2003. Unfortunately, that will never happen.
The point of my story is to put a face to this situation. I am not just a customer who didn't pre-order and lost interest in the line after the show ended. I am a serious collector who had never collected anything before this line in my life. I thoroughly enjoy the action figures I have purchased from MAC, most of which I will never actually play with. I am not someone who will forget about "those silly toys" and "grow up." I am a customer who is thirsting for more Buffy and Angel action figures.
In an ideal world, another company would produce more of these great action figures while not duplicating too many of the characters already created by Moore Action Collectibles and hopefully keeping the figures in the same scale. I can guarantee that I will be waiting for that day. I would check MAC's website every day to see if they posted any more information or pictures. I won't give up so easily.
