Hello My brother has a giant vinyl Pitch Black movie poster that he got from a Video shop on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. We would like to know if it is rare and how much it is worth. There is a photo of it at the link below www.flickr.com/photos/147317212@N06/(Also if anyone has suggestions on where else I could post this - it would be appreciated!)

Posters are not as desirable as other items like comics, cards, props, etc. Mainly because of bulky size and durability. That being said, in similarity the grading would also be applicable as well in this case. Does it have the original colors? i.e. did it fade due to exposure to light or water damage. Any tears, rips, scratches, etc? A freshly rolled poster in the original plastic may be the mentis condition I can think of. Other than it be framed behind glass or graded by a professional PSA/DSA. However, going back to your question it depends on the condition, size, material and popularity. To get the most value you would have to pretty much find a die hard fan that is willing to secure it at a high enough price. Again, posters are one of those hard to nail down value - I have a marvel X-Men posters that I have seen priced widely in range (again difference in popularity and scarcity. I've looked into eBay and the most similar item I could find was this: www.ebay.com/itm/PITCH-BLACK-ORIG-BRITISH-QUAD-MOVIE-POSTER-VIN-DIESEL-DS-/121428053039?hash=item1c45ad0c2f:g:5GIAAOSwVFlUB-b2priced at $100 plus shipping. Take note of the condition, material and size. If you're looking to sell what you have on the link in that condition I would say start off on auction at $15-$20 just because of the poor stored condition and the visible signs of folding, which seriously decreased the value. If in better condition I would ball park auction at $50. More if you find someone at a convention that is willing to buy at face value or even a collector. The Riddick action figure mint on card is fetching a good price. Again, this is an action figure and not a poster. **Please note that I am not a professional or certified grader. I have only provided you with a collector's view point and approach to finding a suggested point of value/sale and where to reference. So please do research if you intend to really sell the item. I wouldn't want you to sell the holy grail for $20 nor suggest an item would be worth more then its actual worth.
