While surfing eBay I saw an odd listing claiming that they had a 2014 SDCC Triangle Tara up for preorder...when I saw this initially I thought it was a scam to sell the figure. However, to my surprise it is legit. Cinequest is offering preorders for the Triangle Tara figure that will be offered up at SDCC 2014. Take a look: www.cinequest.com/store/COMIC-CON-2014/SDCC-2014-BUFFY-TRIANGLE-TARA-EXCLUSIVE-FIGURE-NON-ATTENDEE-US.htmlLooks like these will be limited 300 and unsigned, I don't think it is any different than the original release...I was kinda hoping it was a brand new Tara figure. Here's your chance to get a Triangle Tara if you haven't already!

Here's your chance to get a Triangle Tara if you haven't already! I saw this listing as well PJ. I had assumed that someone was selling their previously purchased at SDCC Triangle Tara figure. You know venders sometimes sell stuff at the booth and it could have easily been mistaken, but I guess not in this case. Sense Triangle Tara could only be purchased through Benson Entertainment, I wouldn't be surprised if they had surplus of stock that could be re-released to the public. I got mine from BE about a year ago off of eBay. Funny how the site says she is the rarest, um no. I'm pretty sure she's not. Maybe in official signature release she maybe close, but each actor had a limited signing of about 500 i.e. Nicholas Brandon, Amy Acker, Andy H., etc (excluding autographs obtained in person). But hey, she was pretty up there with them hard to find figures. Also it says - "Packaged in White Box" so think of inkworks Hush Tara only without the inkworks sticker. Kind of like a post-preproduction re-release figure???

If it is the same figs, it's not a SDCC exclusive and a scam. That article makes it sound as if it's never beenn available before.

LOL! What did I tell you all. Surplus supply. So yadda yadda, it's a repackaged re-release figure. Plain white box (i.e. Hush Tara via Inkworks only probably with SDCC 2014 sticker on it.). Most likely collectors will take a few units just to make the collection that much more complete. If not just to say they have a set of ALL the released Tara figures out there. I do suggest buying it from Amber's mom - so you can cut out the middle man sort of speak. Great way for them to get the full proceeds for whatever Amber Benson or Fam do next. Her mom also does packaged deals as well. When I got mine from her, She added a CD of Amber's Song, A signed photo and a Signed Tara figure. So that was awesome of her to do. I'm not sure if that surplus supply of CD and autograph pictures will be available as well there at SDCC. So take a chance and roll the dice. I'm pretty sure that sense 300 were promised to SDCC there maybe a few extras still left that are on original DST card. I know at the time I was hunting for this figure, a few more people had started collecting Buffy figures. So this is a great chance to grab her at a decent price. Thanks for all the links! I'm probably one of those completion-ist who wants to have everything that was released for that character so I might have to go through cinequest to get the SDCC version. - DAMN this illness of mine! LOL!

I couldn't believe it when it arrived, such a sweet jesture. So yeah, I'm with you, I recommend that anyone who still wants to get this figure try to get it directly from Amber or her family.

I won't go as far as calling it a scam. Basically it promotes Amber's new project, gets rid of those spare figures her mom had and cashes in on the renewed interest in BtVS (i.e. ReAction and POP Vinyl lines). It won't be as appealing if they'd say those figures been available all this time via Amber's mom but stating than previously those figures were $125 and now they are $22 make it seem like a good deal. Overall its just $7 more than what they cost at first so not a big deal. Give it a year or so and CineQuest will be selling them for much less trying to push left over stock as I can't imagine they'd be able to sell 300 pcs of a re-released figure. BTW, for those who haven't got one - keep in mind its not as impressive as the promotional image:

I've always loved that figure. I could wait a year or so to get it cheaper, seeing that I haven't seen my DST buffy figures for so MANY years since I put them in storage. But shipping would prob hurt, so I guess I might give it a miss. Still really cool for die hard Tara fans who could never get it.

Why are they selling a figure for $125 signed when we can get it on ebay for £60 ?? Isn't that about the same price, to be fair? With the exchange rate and all.

Why are they selling a figure for $125 signed when we can get it on ebay for £60 ?? Please be sure to read the full site listing prior to posting. They are NOT selling SIGNED FIGURES! The 300 figures to be sold at SDCC are White Box UNSIGED version of Triangle Tara figures for $22. At the time of release-sale they were selling them for that price for a valid reason. eBay is not valid when it comes to manufactures price. Some individuals will scalp rare figures for a much higher price. Take for example, you can purchase a MAC Angel Series 1 Faith at retail store at time of release for 14.99 + tax and someone selling her now on eBay for 24.99 + 8.00 shipping. There's a big difference on just that alone. TOWER Records I remembered had a surplus of Buffy Deluxe figures and even had them at discounted prices selling figures for like 5-7 dollars per figure. I remembering getting Illyria for only $11.99 + tax and look how much she is selling now. Look at the Deluxe Buffy figures as well. If anyone is still looking to buy a DST Carded Signed version - You can do so via Benson Entertainment. It's no longer $125 for the signed figure, I believe I paid around $47 USD for it on eBay.

I thought that before saying something is available, you should probably check more thoroughly. On the site itself, it did not mention that signed figures would be available as well. Only that the 300 Unsigned figures would be. So you may want to verify your information accordingly, otherwise you might confuse other people looking into purchasing this figure.

Read what I put above because it still says that on the email Is there a point to this argument? If you read the press release: In the newsletter CineQuest sent it says: So why are you arguing about this? Sometimes you can just admit to be wrong and move on....

Wow, the final paintjob is really disapointing, also the stand with those few accessorys is just poor and loveless, well thats what that line was like anyways... Theres no way I would pay 120$ for a figure like this, even though its signed. IMO this is the official dead of BTVS Figures (DST's at least).
@ elee, is there really a need for qouting the top post? Its obviously your replying to it anyways.
@ xWillowxTarax, why do you come up with such invalide arguments and presist youre right when youre obviously not? 60 GBP are about 110$ btw, if you add shipping, ebay/paypal fees and custom charges your way over that amount...Better check your assertions/ complains before post them in public...

3 words "Long, live, TARA!"
J August, where is your figure for Charles Gunn. I would pay for your figure as an SDCC exclusive. Acutally I would pay for a Deathstroke figure too from Marvel Agents of Shield.

eBay sellers have already listed this figure for Pre-Order at or well above the $29.99 asking price. Let the scalping begin.

Not that I'm planning to buy her, but I thought I'd have some and ask those selling the pre-sale on ebay whether or not the item will come like the one in the picture or like the original Triangle Tara (I gave them a link to the original Triangle Tara), just to see what they would say. Here are two responses if anyone is interested.
The response: #1 It should not be the original Triangle Tara, the one in the picture is from a promo picture that the manufacturer supplied, so it should probably end up being that figure, but I can't guarantee what the final one will look like as I can only supply the image that the makers supply. But it should not be the same figure as previously released or they wouldn't have called it a SDCC exclusive. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
[[after I sent a picture of the promo used for the Trevor Project:]] Hey, upon further reading it looks like it will be the exact same figure but not numbered. Thanks for letting me know that this was the same image as originally solicited and thanks for bringing to my attention. The main difference is that this one will come unsigned. Here is some official wording:
For the first time and exclusively for San Diego Comic-Con, we are offering an unsigned edition of the figure in association with Benson Entertianment.
The original run of "Triangle" Tara was only 2,000 figures worldwide; there are only 300 of the unsigned edition, which comes blister-carded in a white box mailer. Accessories include purse, potion bottle, candle and book.
#2 That is a very good question and I have wondered that myself. This is the photo provided by the manufacturer and company who will be selling it at the event. With that, I have to assume the photo on my listing is how she will look. If you do purchase her from us and she comes the same as the original Triangle Tara (as seen in your photo), I will be happy to give you a full refund. Let me know what you think. Thank you for your interest and please let me know if you have any further questions.
#3 i dont l Know, I ordered base I picture I used.

@ after8
Not sure why everyone thinks this is going to be a new repainted figure. These are re-release figure. It'll be the same quality as the original DST figures produced on card. The only reason why they keep using the original photo is because it's stock photo.
