So Funko have aquired the rights to Buffy and Firefly and are preceding to release products in their stylised "Pop" form as well as vintage "Re-Action" figures that emulate the style of toys in the 70s/80s. All well and good... but...
Arguably more exciting, the company have started to branch out into "Legacy" 6-inch figures for certain properties as well. Recently they have released pictures of their work on the Game Of Thrones license, and they look pretty good. No word on Buffy yet in this scale (so lets not jump the gun), but it's possible that we may see the return of Buffy figures in the future. Obviously, I hope this happens. Funko have a board of their own and Buffy is doing pretty well in the Legacy Wishlist thread, it may be worth showing some support over there.
If it was to happen, what would you like to see?
Personally, I want Angel to get some love.
Anyways, discuss.

As it pertains to the Legacy line, my only hope would be for characters that were missed in the previous lines. Priorities for me would be Riley, Adam, Gunn, Robin Wood. Which is to say, relatively minor characters in the grand scheme of Buffy and Angel, but very important to a long-time fan like me.
Of course making those obscure characters would be a terrible business plan, so I would expect them to make only the major ones in the Legacy line to start with (if they make them at all). So that would be Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith.

I would love a Legacy line...and I don't care WHAT characters they are. I know for a fact, like you said Dan, that they will make the major characters first or even only. With that said, I do hope Willow will be on that list!

Ive seen pics of the Game of Throne figures, and dunno how to feel about a Buffy line... Its kinda cool that the Buffy line is going to be continued, but its too bad its going to be in that form. It it was in Eaglemoss style at least...Anyways, definitely nothing I would want on my display...

ba|1: Buffy is currently NOT planned for the Legacy line. It's going to be the retro-styled 3 3/4" ReAction line. This thread is just speculating that they could branch out into 6" scale with their Legacy line.

Wow, the Buffy figure from the ReAction line manages to look worse than DST's final lines of Buffy figures. I don't think Buffy fans need or want any more bad- looking figures, even if they are bad on purpose. Plus, the Buffy looks like Harmony.

Fingers crossed they branch into contemporary styles for Buffy, not feeling the retro line.

Firefly Legacy is now official. Be on the lookout for those later in the year (I know I will be ) As it pertains to the Legacy line, my only hope would be for characters that were missed in the previous lines. Priorities for me would be Riley, Adam, Gunn, Robin Wood. Which is to say, relatively minor characters in the grand scheme of Buffy and Angel, but very important to a long-time fan like me. Of course making those obscure characters would be a terrible business plan, so I would expect them to make only the major ones in the Legacy line to start with ( if they make them at all). So that would be Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith. This is the real issue with tackling a line that has been covered before. There's enough iconic looks left untouched I think, that we could get familiar characters in distinctive new appearances that make them desirable again. There's also some versions that could be improved upon with a new take. Some figures I'd throw out there: Buffy (Prophecy Girl - Updated) Buffy (The Gift) Willow (Dopplegangland) Willow (Tough Love) Xander (The Replacment) Xander (Halloween - Updated) Giles (any tweedy look tbh... Passion?) Giles (Band Candy) That's a pair of very different looks for the core 4 that I'd pick up in a second. If Funko could balance out a ratio of big names with villains/secondary characters (those you mentioned + updated Master/Dru etc), they could be on to a winner. My passion is really with Angel, and if Funko took a bite out of that license then they'd have a far easier time. That line was really under-utilised, and looking at their 5 figure waves for GoT, we could be getting important players like Gunn pretty damn quickly.
