What order should the comics be read in?

Guys I need some help with which order to read the buffy/angel graphic novels in...?

So far I have read Buffy season 8 volumes 1 - 4 and I have volume 5 (predators & prey) but haven't gotten round to reading it yet. I also have Angel after the fall volumes 1 & 2 but haven't read these yet at all.

I know there's another 3 Buffy season 8 volumes I need (retreat, twilight, last gleaming... etc.) and then there's the rest of the Angel after the fall volumes.

But there's also 'Angel & Faith' volumes and Spike and Illyria and I'm really confused and I'm not sure which ones to read after I've finished buying & reading Buffy season 8 and Angel After the fall. I know there 2 buffy season 9 volumes and the 3rd is going to be released soon but all the mini series' are just confusing me!!!

The After the Fall link really breaks it down with the spin-offs on the Angel side. Hope this helps.

Personally I almost have all of Buffy season 8, only missing like 3 issues for the entire run. I just started on season 9 and Angel & Faith. I know I have Angel after the fall, but I never got into the Aftermath or the individual spin-offs.

I guess Lior moved them here since the comics do continue the Series. The comics may be products, but discussing the chapters is getting episodic...Theres always a short message displayed who did move the thread. You can always contact the person or any of us mods if you have any questions, but again, please do NOT doubleposting. You can always go back and modify your original post, or in that case, contact the admin directly.

Roadie - I started with After the Fall, then all of Buffy season 8, went back and tried Aftermath and the other spin offs ( which I didn't enjoy much other than the Spike - After the Fall version.)
Now I'm enjoying Buffy season 9, Angel and Faith, Willow Wonderland and the Spike mini as they come out. I thoroughly recommend Angel and Faith (best of the lot). The flashbacks to Giles' past is worth it alone!!!

Angel & Faith are currently up to like #17?. I only have up to issue 6. I suggest eBay or Amazon to pick up a good cheap lot so you can get them all at one time. But Roadie your picking up the TPB volumes which usually get's released a lot latter. It maybe cheaper that way, but I go after single issue 1st print and collect them as I go for future value I guess. I would consider getting the hard back ones as a 2nd option rather than TPB. I know Angel After the Fall had some hard back volumes.

To make it easier, read the canonical comics first. There are some that were released before (and after released without Joss supervision) Joss decided to write Season 8 as a continuation of the show, so they are questionable and I won't mention them.

To follow chronologically: Read Angel After the fall vol 1-4 (Spike After the fall and this other series simply named Spike written by Brian Lynch are optional). Skip the other Angel volumes and read Season 8, then Buffy season 8 and Angel & Faith(they take place at the same time).

That should be a good start. After that there's the Willow Wonderland and the season 9 Spike series. Not sure after which Buffy season 9 issues those should be read.

Then there's more questionable maybe-canon comics that are really good, some filling in gaps in the canon comics.

Thanks everyone! You've all really helped from what I can see I'll have to start buying the rest of the angel after the fall volumes!

Hansi and Lior - thanks for clearing that up I didn't realise there were any subforums lol! oops xD

can't wait to read the buffy & angel volumes... so far I've really enjoyed buffy season 8!!!
