I'm not a fan of repainting faces too much. I have done some repaints on faces and some of the eyes have come out okay, others... look terrible! I was just wondering what people use to paint the eyes other than very fine paint brushes? I don't think I have the right tools for painting eyes which is why I keep messing them up quite a bit.
What do you guys suggest?

I have the same problem road. I don't find success at the end of a very very fine paint brush as much as I do a fine toothpick, sometimes with a fine marker w/ short tip. When I do it, I use the original lines without painting the whole head one solid color. Take for example that Angel & Faith custom I did. I just use white to dop out the original paint and use a toothpick for the pupil. If you need to add eyelashes for example I repainted the makeup on the dole Avengers Black Widow figure I had and I use a marker for the eyelashes. Example of before n after

Hmmm good idea about using a tooth pick! The only thing I have that I can use are sewing needles! They come in handy for doing make-up like eyeliner and things but I could be doing with some more tools!

Msbig once made a perfect guide for painting faces, too bad the pictures dont work anymore. I wouldnt use a tooth pick or a needle since the final result would look rather dotted then smooth. Theres special brushed from Revell for example. 000 is the best for painting details. If the brush is still to scrubby I would recommend rolling regular glue between your fingers and point out the brush as much as you like (like styling hair). First off all I would recomment to thin the skincolor down, you would have to use more layers but the result will look much smoother. Now heres the trick, only paint once over the eyes, eyebrows and lips. By that youll have a little see through effect, and a guide for repainting those. Id always started with the contoures and worked to the inside. When both eyes are painted I would set the reflectionpoint (little white spot) by this way I always managed it to got it almost symetrical. Ive mostly painted anime model kits, but the result always looked presentable.

Wow that's pretty sweet ba. That's not normal paint. What kind of paint did you use? Also I have to say anime eyes are different than regular eyes. Scale size also makes it harder as the figurine gets smaller. Also speaking of anime and sailor moon did you ever find the holy Grail that is the petit figure of sailor Pluto? I have the majority of the petite except eternal and Pluto and moons oh and the bootleg tuxe.

Hehe thank you. I never really collected those figs, but Ive painted tons of resins, I can send you a pm with some pics as I did about 30-40 of those kits easily, if your intrested. The most rare items I ever had was Uranus Wand, and the Starlocket. As for the colors, Id always use Revell enamel colors since I can better results with those. By using a thinner these also work great for airbrush.

Don't have the equipment for working airbrush. Bummer I know. Hope you didn't sell Sailor Uranus wand cause that be made crazy collectible. I'm talking Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Original Morpher x 4. (Sidenote: MMPR Morpher usually goes average $200+ in mint condition or complete). eBay sellers have them starting and a grand USD.

you can built a tin brush, with hair, tape and glue, just roll some hair and put some glue for keep them together, cover all with the tape, then you can use it for paint eyes. For better result use a magnifying glass, then in this way you can see the flaws and correct them. Wire and needles can be a good trick too, just be careful and avoid to scratch the eyes.
