Guys, I need some advice... I recently bought a fairly cheap 5MP digital camera... I don't have a decent phone so naturally it also doesn't have a decent camera but this recent 5MP one HAS flash but the flash is too powerful and whenever I've tried to take pictures (with or without the flash on), they come out fairly blurred when taking pictures of my customs... the camera is okay for taking pictures of regular things like my pets but for detailed and very small customs... it isn't doing the job despite all the fiddling around I've done with the settings and what not. What cameras do you guys use to take pictures of your customs? What MP is it? Can I get one cheap(ish)? I was thinking of investing in a 9MP camera rather than a 5... would this do the job do you think? Any help with this would be great... my customs are quickly building up - I've just made my 25th one already! Many thanks

You should really try photograph your customs with daylight, and no flash. I noticed that when I posting my stuff, the flash do mess up. The colors dont look right, the paint looks glossy sometimes, ect... I bought a Nikon Coolpix L110 while back, it was about 250€ I think. It has 12.1 mio Megapixel, 15x Optical Wide Zoom, dont know about the Digital Zoom, wich can enlarge even more. I really fall in love with this cam, it takes the best pictures Ive ever seen, sometimes in clear nights I can zoom right to the Moon and even see the craters on my display. It very easy to use, you have serval settings for colors and lightening, panorama option, and is still available on amazon for about 200$ now. BTW if you have the chance to, you should take outdoor pics of your work since those do always look better in natural light. Heres some mixed Pics I took, notice the different lightings?

I use a SANYO VPC-S500. Dad got this for me as a gift out of Wal-Mart at just under $200. It did not come with an SD card, so you will need to pick one up if you do decide to get it. This is a 5.0 megapixel digi cam with 3x optical zoom 4 x digital zoon and a 2.4" large lcd screen back. There are certain quick settings like head shot, personal, action, night time, wide. To get away from blurriness you need to stand away from the display of your custom figure at least 3-5 steps. If you want the close up look use your zoom setting to get the shot you want. Secondly if you are doing a daytime inside room shot make sure you have a nice light area - my work room has florescent lighting and also the flash from the cam to counter balance the room lighting. If you have a backdrop/ base for custom figures you'll definitely would like a well lit room to capture all of the details. Here are the samples that I am talking about with my cam. Avoid flash back by standing away and taking the shot at an angle with plastic. Avoid flash back and mirror reflection from glass with the same method.
