So I was very lucky and found a Vampyr Book on ebay germany for 80$ Buy it now price, it was newly listed and the seller had obviously no idea how much it was worth. Anyways, it arrived just yesterday and im absolutely dissapointed. The book is made out of resin and had a few cracks because the post office didnt treat the package very well. The shell is hollow and super breakable, the pages arent sculpted, they just did some dirty washes to give the impression of what could look like pages, and just when I got it the fixation broke, wich also happend to the box that came with the slayers stake (not that the stake was super accurate). *BTW does anyone else have the problem that the mounting on the wallplug from the scythe peel off the paint from the blade?* What really bugs me is the paint job, couldnt look cheaper... No details and no love were put into this. There was a little spot on the front wich I was trying to wipe aways with my finger, and the color started to peel off. Im still waiting for the Thesula orb, I hope this one will look better. I really wouldnt recommend anyone buying one of those, especially for these crazy ebay prices (up to 300$ or more, if anyone still plans to get one), your only getting disappointed. Heres some pics ( I know there were lots posted ), I'm gonna post in the custom section too since I gave a little paintjob to that "thing". Heres the real thing: Heres what the actual book looks like:

Oh I'm so sorry you're disappointed.
I have to say It doesn't look too bad though as a base for a custom. Please let us know how you get on modding it.

Hehe, dont worry. I just posted some pics, still need to make some little repairs on the craks, but its mostly done so far. www.btvsfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Customize&thread=18650True, it could look really nice, I just wish they had put a little more effort in it. I dont know what the original retrail price was, but compared to those prices on ebay I think its not worth it.

Looks like this is off my wish list for good. Might get a customized one one day, from buffyprops maybe.

I personally don't care about the book. I wanna get the Slayer Scythe and do some real damage. The full scale, not the mini from factory x. Also wouldn't mine picking up a real Cap n America shield made of metal and not the plastic toy.

It's too bad about your book, though at least you didn't pay one of those ridiculous prices ($300 and more!) for such a clunker. However, it is upsetting that such a cool prop ended up as a crappy replica.

Great job! You are officially the go to guy for cosmetic repairs ,hee, hee. Can I book myself in for a make over? Seriously, I would avoid buying it as well ,but you have certainly done a class job on making it look 100% better! Well done! This comment obviously should go with your other thread that shows the hard work you put in!! Sorry, got lost!!!

Late to the party on this one but I just had to comment having worked on this prop in particular for a few years. I know of the prop maker who made the model for this book for Factory X and I was a little surprised that he didn't use the same antique bible as was used to make it for the show! It's lack of detail and other inaccuracies were points of conversations that I had with a book binder friend of mine. For instance, I asked why the "VAMPYR" Lettering was made raised on the Factory X version instead of concave like on the original prop? The reply was that raised lettering is easier. Here is an example of the detail that is present on the actual book:
(This is a test mold I made off the cover of the first one I tracked down) Anyway, I've been disappointed with the general lack of detail and quality all the way around from Factory X where their Props from Buffy are concerned. It's one of the big reasons I do what I do. Nice work there making it over! Yours is certainly the best I've seen of the Factory X Boxes!
