Wow that's really good. Are you going to color him? I think he looks good without color.
I can't wait to see more from you.

I like very much the banner style graphics with the flowing hair, I think they make a terrific logo for your project - which I'm curious about! You say these are drawings for your tv show. More info on that please, it sounds very exciting and best of luck with it. Anyway ,you have a very fun, youthful quality to your work which I am sure will go down very well, I like the fact that they are almost like fashion illustrations and then you read some of the lettering and it's quite dark. I think your style of art would work very well with watercolours and ink also. Good work, well done.

hey guys dunno if this is in the right spot but i have some drawings i'd like to show everyone, but i'm not the best drawer march 4. 2011 so here is a photo (not colored yet) of a Mortal Kombat Character some of you may know him sub-zero i will post other drawings later of other things as the saying goes ' got nothing nice to say then dont say anything at all' so please no negative comments i've already said i'm not the best drawer so i know my work isn't amazing like some people sorry not trying to be rude anyways thanks for looking hope you like them and i'll post more when i can First off let me begin by saying that your drawings (both black and white and colored) are not bad at all, so you shouldn't put yourself down by stating that "your not the best artist"...After all; art is in the eye of the beholder so it is all relative You have a unique style and a good eye. There are areas which I am sure can be improved upon but that is part of the process...any artist worth their weight has room for improvement and those that say they don't...well aren't really that good to begin with. second you should always encourage constructive feedback, such feedback is an excellent tool that you can use to get pointers and a clear perspective on your drawings...unfortunately there is the down side to posting your work on the Internet/ public forum...that is there will always be some jerk out there who will get their jollies by being mean...the best defense is to delete their posts or ignore them don't let those folks get you down...and if you are super sensitive to to the occasional rude comment (and usually there are not that many) then think twice before you post your work on-line. and lastly have more confidence...art is a subjective learning process and some of your drawings will be better than others but keep in mind that some of the drawings which you think aren't that good; there is someone else who thinks they are fantastic. The main point is keep drawing for the more you draw the more you will develop your style. also another good suggestion is to study...seek out reference books, tutorials and ask questions...most artists will love to help and give you suggestions if you take the first step and ask. based on what I see in your drawings...I would suggest that you study anatomy and basic portraiture. You mentioned that you like the elongated "fashion style" of figures; that is an awesome place to begin...google search fashion design and I am sure you will find lots of tutorials on the subject. also if you are still in school check and see if your school offers any art classes all of which will help The main thing is Keep drawing, I really like your style and you have great potential. I look forward to seeing what your create next ;D Scotty--

i was hoping you would see them and say something
i say i'm not the best drawer in the world because there will always be people better then me and i take that as a good thing because i am not a cocky person who thinks i am better then anyone
i will delete the rude comments if i can i dunno if i can? but i just meant by people saying really rude stuff about my artwork i don't mind people saying you just need to improve on this or that because its why i draw i always get better and better
i do look at alot of images of people and their poses and use that to help me how their hair moves or how clothes move and how to do folds and stuff i'm always doing that
no i'm not in school i was home schooled and graduated 3 yrs ago, but going to school might not be the best for me because yes they will teach you things but i don't want to change my style in drawings just want to improve and i have i never was able to draw males or have my females with two eyes i was always covering one of their eyes with bangs
the sub-zero drawing and my other mortal kombat people are more recent (or within the last few months) and their so detailed i tried my best and i'm happy with my work (i will post them later when i can scan everyone) i did change some stuff on some characters because i didn't like them, but overall i like them
but like i said earlier i don't want to color my recent images just yet cause i'm scared to ruin them and some parts of the drawings are not pushed hard on the paper so when i scan the images some of doesn't show up cause i drew some details light incase i had to erase
i appreciate what you say scotty alot of people have told me i should go to school, but i do look at images and try my best i know there will be haters which is fine i can't please everyone but then again i can just turn around and ask them 'can you draw?' usually the haters are the ones who can't are just 'jealous' or they like a certain type of artwork and mine doesn't fit in
some people say my work is like comic books meets fashion, i'm just glad you can tell which one is a guy and which is a girl

i was hoping you would see them and say something I am always eager and willing to help a fellow artist especially when i see that they have potential i say i'm not the best drawer in the world because there will always be people better then me and i take that as a good thing because i am not a cocky person who thinks i am better then anyone again you should stay away from such comments, even though I understand you not wanting to be percieved as "Cocky". Please do not confuse cocky with confidense, as I mentioned before; art is in the eye of the person who views it, for example some folks prefer the art style of Picasso over the style of Leonardo da Vinci...is Leonardo better than picasso? that is argumentive and subjective they are both considered masters of their art styles it all boils down to the taste of the person viewing the piece. Just be confident in your style of drawing and do not worry about who is better than you at drawing because for every one person who doesnt like your drawings, there will be 10 more that think it is awesomei will delete the rude comments if i can i dunno if i can? but i just meant by people saying really rude stuff about my artwork i don't mind people saying you just need to improve on this or that because its why i draw i always get better and better on this forum I do not think that you can delete rude comments but you can report them to one of the fantastic Mods and they can do the deleting. on other forums like Deviant art you can hide comments. anyway I have found that here on BTVSfigs we are a creative and suportive bunch so I doubt that there will be any rude comments...but keep in mind if you go out and say dont leave any rude comments then that is a bonifide invatation for some jerk to do soi do look at alot of images of people and their poses and use that to help me how their hair moves or how clothes move and how to do folds and stuff i'm always doing that Awesome!no i'm not in school i was home schooled and graduated 3 yrs ago, but going to school might not be the best for me because yes they will teach you things but i don't want to change my style in drawings just want to improve and i have i never was able to draw males or have my females with two eyes i was always covering one of their eyes with bangs That is awesome that you home schooled (I hated high school) if you do choose to take a art class the idea is to learn structure and tricks of the trade, you do not have to change your style; just learn what the classes have to teach you and apply it to your own style. also dont be afraid to mix it up a bit sometimes you have to change your style in order to improve, your style should evolve or you will become stagnant as far as drawing men verses women...try this ...(it is one of those little gems you can learn from a decent art class or teacher) when you draw women round off all edges, women are all about curves (even the most manly woman has curves) and when you draw men (even efeminate men) square off or angle all edges trust me you will notice the difference immediately. when drawing the face especially the eyes take into consideration the skull and the shape of the eyeball; always draw the eyes round (you draw the lids over the eyeball) also be aware that you can measure the entire face with the eye...for example (there are slight variations to this depending on the individual person but for the most part this works) there is one eye length between the eyes, one eye lenght from the corner of the eye to the top of the nostrill and one eyes length from the bottom of the nose to the bottom of a closed mouth etc...the sub-zero drawing and my other mortal kombat people are more recent (or within the last few months) and their so detailed i tried my best and i'm happy with my work (i will post them later when i can scan everyone) i did change some stuff on some characters because i didn't like them, but overall i like them awesome would love to see thembut like i said earlier i don't want to color my recent images just yet cause i'm scared to ruin them and some parts of the drawings are not pushed hard on the paper so when i scan the images some of doesn't show up cause i drew some details light incase i had to erase that is a valid choice not to color a drawing...black and white drawings are cool...but dont refrain from experimenting out of fear...an initial sketch is not a sacred work of art...just remember this...if you drew it once you can draw it again some of my best drawing came out of fixing my mistakes. if you are worried about smudging a pencil drawing, then that is easy just spary it with aerosol hair spray and set the lead...I draw all of my drawings with a plain no.2 pencil then apply the color on top of the pencil sketch...the hair spray keeps the lead from smearing into the color. also I very rarely if ever erase but again that is a personal preference just dont be afraid to erase...be confident if the drawing doesnt turn out how you want it then draw it again...that is the only way to learn what worksi appreciate what you say scotty alot of people have told me i should go to school, but i do look at images and try my best i know there will be haters which is fine i can't please everyone but then again i can just turn around and ask them 'can you draw?' usually the haters are the ones who can't are just 'jealous' or they like a certain type of artwork and mine doesn't fit in again dont wory about others (unless they are paying you to do the drawing) ...draw for your self and dont acknowledge the haters or let them get a rise out of you as you will only be giving them what they want...draw for yourself and trust me your art work will fit in just fine...after all it takes all types of colors to make a rainbow and art is no different...the key is diversity ;Dsome people say my work is like comic books meets fashion, i'm just glad you can tell which one is a guy and which is a girl your style is a reflection of you, steer away from labels and focus on being yourself...your art can be anything you wish it to be...fashion, comics, realistic, impressionistic or a hybrid of all the above...there truly are no rules when it comes to art. just a lot of research and practice

lol thanks scotty but you dont have to be so rude geez now i'm crying you big meanie i never let anyone put my drawings down so don't worry i do draw for myself like my promos and the Mortal Kombat/ other people drawings i do eventually want to put them somewhere like one a huge board thing and hang them in my room or something i still cant draw realistic people but i try my best i know it just takes a lot of practice, but i'm always writing and drawing my promos i have shown are just examples and gives me an idea of what my characters will look so i have a visual also the written description my passion is writing scripts and drawing i do a lot of Horror/Slasher scripts and my tv shows are all similar to other shows but different just one of them is called Rachel which is about me lol and i knew about the curves are curvy and to draw the guys all edgy and straight lines i have improved because when i drew them before they looked like tall females with short hair and no chest but i do appreciate what you say and you are right no one has bad drawings i never judge anyone because not everyone is perfect which is a good thing in a way

Ok, I understand your fears about negative comments ( it took me a while to build up the confidence to post my pics on the web) but as an artist you Have to get used to a certain amount of critisism good or bad, it is essential for your development and it makes you stronger for it. Scotty has given you loads of very good advice. He is not being mean at all, in fact everything he said is constructive. Take a look at as many different styles of drawing as you can from Degas to Manga. Think about what you like about all the different styles. Have a go at changing your style just as an exercise to see if you enjoy working in another way. It won't take you away from what you love doing and the style you prefer to work in, but it might open your eyes to other possibilities you haven't considered before that might give you another perspective. Copying the work of others is a useful tool to help you appreciate all the different processess. Life classes are a superb way to study anatomy, unless you can arrange for someone else to pose for you in your home but I doubt too many people are that free to strip off. You get to see the whole figure 3-dimensionally then ,instead of just a flat image. I don't want to sound like i'm lecturing either but if you don't mix it up with others and be prepared to take a risk sometimes then how are you going to develop your work any further? You do have great potential - get out there and have some fun with it! By doing that you might find something/ someone who introduces you to something that you'll think is the best thing since sliced bread!

thanks for your comment but i know people will be mean and i'm used to that, i never said scotty was rude only in a joking way hint for the face i am always looking at stuff like comic books (not a fan of anime/manga so i don't care for it) but i do look at how they draw their hair and clothes i'm always looking at different styles anyways to help me with clothing folds and the shading when i want to color them in dont worry i'm taking what everyone is saying and taking it all in i only meant about the rude comments like people actually saying rude things, but i doubt this forum would allow those kind of rude comments so don't worry i'm always approving myself these drawings are older as i have said, right anyways lol
