Hey Guys This is my Final project of University. So I went for something big. I designed a lifesize statue of a woman with an anubis mask on. she will hold a Book of the Dead. Shes sculpted from Clay, weighs about 50KG at the moment, but I still have more clay to add. She will be cast in Fibreglass and painted Gold Would love feedback Wayne

Wow Wayne. She is looking fantastic. The sculpt is amazing, especially at that large scale. She is a lovely blend of femininity but also has a amazonian edge to her. I am curious, what is the yellow gel you have put over the armature ? It looks like some kind of resin. I can't wait to see her finished - she will surely be magnificent!

Wow! This is a breathtaking piece Wayne. The sculpt is so smooth and realistic looking. Watching your work evolve and progress over the years has been fascinating and this latest piece is a true testiment to your talent. This is going to be one hell of a beauty once she's complete. ;D

Awww thanks guys! or should i say Gals! this is the first piece ive ever done at this scale, so im glad its coming out well. We have an exhibition/ recruitment fair in London after, so i wanted something that would really pop. Kate, your comments are appreciated as usual And Sarah, thanks also. I wanted womanly, but more than human, as these sort of statues would of been worshipped. I used wood for the armature and chicken wire, then plaster and scrim. Then sealed it with shellac to stop the plaster drying out the clay Wayne

Hey Guys Sorry about the long absence, ive been so busy trying to finish this Ive managed to get a mould done and a cast. Ive cut the arms, ears and fingers off before moulding and ive cast those seperately. it was purely to make it easier to mould Thanks Wayne

Hey Guys! Sorry for the total lack of updates on this, it has swamped me down! Its due in today and has been finished for a week, so i thought id give you guys some photos. I spent ages sanding and priming it. took forever, still wasnt perfect, but it was intended to be antiqued, so it looked fine I sprayed it black Then Gold- i used plastikote brilliant metallic Gold. AMAZING PAINT its so shiny! I then antiqued it using dark furniture wax I hope you guys like her. sorry for the rushed updates. I did plan to give her a book, but it covered too much of her body, so i went for a scroll, i havent photographed that yet though. So yeh, its due today, very nervous. Wish me luck guys lol Cheers Wayne

I forsee a bright future for you. When I saw that, I thought "it could be a prop for a movie or a piece at a art gallery". It's excellent.
Have you decided what to work with now that your uni time is over?

Amazing! It definitley looks like an actual statue you wouldve seen in ancient egypt, or a movie prop too. But either way it looks absolutely grand ! The sculpt is just awe-inspiring, and the proportions are fantastico! I am like speechless, I wish I could do something like that.
