I've seen this done on another forum, and I thought it would be a fun thing to bring here, since so many of us are avid book readers.
Basically what you do is set a goal for the number of books you want to read this year, and post each time you finish a book, trying to meet your goal.
This isn't a competition by any means, it's just a way to keep track of what you've read this year, and a way to stay motivated in your reading.
Here's what mine looks like so far:
2010 Book Challenge - 50 Books
1. Go Ask Malice - Robert Joseph Levy (243 pages)

Great idea Jess! I cant really take part in the 2010 film challenge because as a film student its nigh impossible to keep track of the films I watch. This is a lot more manageable for me.
*EDIT*
Just finished reading The Hellbound Heart, never in my reading history has a book made me feel genuinely sick. Barkers vivid descriptions have managed to actually cause some gross taste in my mouth. He truely has a way with horror. Im off to go throw up now...

just finished my tenth so Im a fifth of the way to my goal...does that sentence make sense...? lol.
Iv been reading a lot recently though and now will have to actually get some uni work done, but I just wanted to say that last book I read, The Book Thief...holy crabs...AMAZING.
Ended up reading the whole thing in a day, I just couldnt put it down. Im known for being a bit of an unemotional black coal hearted guy, but the last few chapters actually brought tears to my eyes.
Id HIGHLY recommend.
Number 11 on my list is IMAJICA by Clive Barker but its a pretty epic size so should last me a few weeks. ;D
