I think the Faith sketch was just whipped up fast for the video -- I don't believe it's actually a concept sketch that went anywhere. Same with the Willow sketch -- they just needed a shot of a random sketch or two to go with the interview.

More excitement to come when they state the price target.
If it's a $50 item, I'll be more excited than if its a $150 item.

Whoops, it's neither. Their "maquette" line runs $200 to $300 each.

Its a neat idea and I am very excited they released more Buffy collectibles but not sure if I'd be buying these for $200-$300 range. Guess we'd just got to wait and see.

Excited that they are doing something Buffy. Considering the global economic climate, I hope it's a lower price tag.

hmm....don't like it.
We've been waiting ages for them to show this new line and it's turned out kind of blah. I do not understand why they make statues etc that are not based on scenes from the show. It's for this exact reason why i'm selling my essence of statuettes.
With so many cool scenes to base statues on, they instead choose to make up something- why?? oh well, at least i'll save some money by not buying them....kind of a shame as i was looking forward to something new for the buffyverse.

I really like Buffy, but I hate the throne. I think it would look much better if she was sitting on a grave stone instead. I not sure if I will buy this, I will have to wait to see it painted.

I really like, but I would have loved scenes from the show. I really hope to see YW Cordy get made.

I think we need to write Sideshow our opinions. I totally HATE that chair. I would never buy this. Buffy never sat in a chair like this, it makes no sense at all. When I saw that chair it was a true "WTF are they thinking" moment! And, if they are using an early Buffy theme, as evident with her costume, then what's with her hair? Her hair was way longer in S1. Again, although I am thrilled they are doing Buffy again, I really hate this design. Come on Sideshow, Lose That Chair!

I think Sideshow was trying to appeal to both Buffy fans and a more general audience of people who like gothic/horror items by doing the over the top chair. IF I knew the price point was going to be lower I would say 100% I was going to get it because chair or not, the Buffy is nice, and it's a early season look which we don't get often. I get them trying to do an item that reflected the tone of the character, more then a specific scene, but I agree they could have thrown some more Buffyesque into it.
They should have modeled the chair after the one the Master sits in during the first season. It wouldn't have been as over the top, but it's still had an old church/gothic style to it and then it would have fit more in with the show, even if it wasn't a direct scene from the show.

Some more experienced sideshow collectors said it should be aboit 200-300USD. I guess it depends on the site.

These look awesome. Get over the chair thing, its an artists representation of the character and the reasons the guy gives in the video are valid.

Yeah, I don't understand why people are so hung up on the chair. It's a chair. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
I'm very happy that there is new, quality Buffy stuff coming out. If it shows something directly from an episode, that's great. If not, that's great too. As long as it captures the spirit of the character, I'm all for it.
In the case of this sculpture, it makes total sense. It's very easy to imagine her at the lair of some big bad (let's say Dracula, for example), and casually sitting in the big bad's throne, effectively taking control of the situation. And in that Buffy style we all love, she mocks the big bad as she flippantly plays with her stake moments before dusting him.
Frankly, the chair should be the *least* of anyone's concerns. The hair looks kinda non-Buffyish, and the final paint jobs have a tendency to vary quite a bit from the prototypes, and can ruin a great sculpt.

I guess my biggest problem with the throne is that the creators think it suits her, and is a symbol of her power. And that they called that stake Mr Pointy.
I can imagine that the throne isn't hers, and I can get over the uglyness of the throne in case Buffy looks good. But I wonder how this line will turn out if sideshow doesn't get the characters. I mean, the Willow sketch shows Willow in a very short skirt.
