Didn't have a camera with me, but for some reason, when I saw the puppet in the convention center, it looked a LOT better to me than the pics I saw.
I passed on all the other puppets, but this is actually one, I think I would own if it weren't so bizarrely expensive. So I won't own it, but unlike the other puppets, I would at least like to have owned this one.

wow puppet Angel look a lot better in those pics ! I reallly like it, but the price is so high that I don't know if I will buy it. I think I will wait for a good deal because I really don't want to spend more than $ 100 in it.

ok, i admit he looks alot better here, but theres still something a little off i think the first pic we saw was distorted, his legs and neck looked massive lets hope they do the puppet justice. he should be rather stumpy Wayne

Still not sold on him. Wondering if these new shots are of a proto before mass production or something and that the first pics we saw are the retail ones. If it were $100 no issue, but $250-275 too expensive.

I think you are right. But no doubt the end product will look nothing like it and more like the ugly fluffer on the front page.

yeh that does make sense this is probably the real thing, hence why they are taking measurements from it... it wont look like it in the end... look at this. this is the original. look at the skin texture and tone. the thin eyebrows... and this, is their version. the texture is completely different, its lighter in tone and the eyebrows are like 4 times thicker. theres something off about the face...i think its too wide, not long and narrow enough. and the texture and colour are really throwing it off the eyes are too far apart. the face itself is too fat, and short, should be longer. the hair is different, should be more of a wool, rather than a fur...

The DST replica is way off. In addition to the issues that willowswarlok pointed out, the nose is too short and stubby, and the pupils of the eyes are too small.
For $250, the thing should be nearly perfect, and it's not. It's merely an over-sized version of the first DST release.

74.52.193.82/events/main.php?g2_itemId=108342SDCC pics of the puppet .... Is it just me or does it look like he's just thrown in some forgotten corner ... like oh yeah, 'we also have this planned for buffy/angel' *sigh* remember the days when Buffy/Angel stuff was like DST's pride and joy merch put on display...

Oh dear, I'm very disappointed in this. They had the real puppet to work from, so why on earth are they still getting it wrong?

I actually like it, and never had a problem with the service from BCC. I've been here since the beginning, but mostly lurk instead of post (as of late).
I can't wait for it.

DST should NEVER show off their initial proto photos. Their products are normally gash anyway, but their debut photos always make them look worse.
I'd love a good Puppet Angel. The likeness of this is improved but still not good enough for me at any price range, let alone the bullshit RRP they've put on this. I'm still kinda happy just to see some new products on the horizon.

These definitely aren't photos of the replica. We saw this same group of photos before the first Puppet Angel came out, assuring us that they were making sure that it would be 100% accurate. Uh... yeah. The first two photos from Art Asylum are the replica, but conveniently sitting down, so you can't see the problems with the body proportions. www.artasylum.com/gallery/Angel%20Puppet/Mind you, we saw lots of changes between the prototypes of the various Puppet Angels (and Puppet Spike) and the final release, most of them for the better, so there's still a chance that this will turn out okay. It's mostly the thinness of the body, legs, and neck, which is fixable. The face isn't too far off, although the forehead needs to be higher, and the nose and mid-face need to be longer. But... um... okay, so it IS pretty far off. Where was this displayed at SDCC? I was looking for it and didn't see it. Mind you, there wasn't enough at the DST booth to keep me around for more than a quick skim of their display cases, so I could easily have missed it. Or was it at another vendor's booth?
