For the most part I don't think that the final figure changes TOO much from the original prototype. Having seen many prototypes in person and in hand myself, I have noticed that they look pretty much the same. So I think that if it's an AMAZING Proto, we'll get an amazing figure. Up until this point, I think the figures have been lacking. But with Faith and Giles, and the new Deluxe Series coming soon I think it will be better now.
I just wish that the industry in general would come up with better paint applications for the face. Because sometimes it looks sloppy, or undefined to me.

I just want to express my general sentiment of "May 2007 is way too far away!"
I so much more wish that these deluxe Willows were coming out in the next few weeks instead -- in time for Christmas. I know everyone feels that way, and sorry to bump the thread, but my oh my May is so far away!

That would be around my birthday and my work anniversary... believe me, it seems like it's pretty far off! But the time will fly (And after the time flies, there are delays and time must fly again! )

I concur. May 2007 is too far away.
And yet, I cannot wait until the next deluxe line is announced and pictures shown (whenever that may be), even though it will be an equally unbearably wait until they are released.
Still, series 3 will be my most expensive series yet. With Kendra, Kennedy (probably, not a 100% purchase as yet), Chosen Willow, Vampire Willow and more than likely Halloween and Tough Love Willow, the wait does give me a chance to save my money.
Cheers, Haeph.

Cheers, Haeph. I know what you mean! I'm so excited for all the new lines! The wait seems unbearable! We get so many more figures from DST than we ever got from Mac, but I just get so excited! I just got my Prom 2-pack, and I LOVE it. But the Willows looked so wonderful at SDCC, that it's hard to believe we have to wait until May! But it will be really cool to see what comes after the Willow line. I hope we get some great fighters, like Adam, Gunn, Harmony, or even the Beast!

I hadn't seen these figures until quite recently, gotta say i love the willows! really want the tough love one and possibly a chosen willow, i dont normally collect the delux figures but i so have to get those two at least. Never been a huge fan of Kennedy but the figure is quite good, so i may get around to getting her as well, if only to put with my other chosen figures!

i dont normally collect the delux figures but i so have to get those two at least. ! I don't have any of them yet myself....which makes me feel kinda dirty! Less of a Buffyfan... ;D I agree some of them now are looking better than figures in the regular assortments (which their block like torso's & bland stances)....Deluxe articulation will really liven up the DST Buffy/Angel display. The Willows are exceptional....where are those pics I had...ah, here we go:

I still just don't see the likeness in Kendra, and while most of the deluxe figures had a bit more of a facial likeness than the regular waves, Kennedy has that cartoony thing going on that some of the regular assortment do.

Perhaps they did not have a scan...
DST aren't great at doing faces without scans. They usually look more animated than real.

I still just don't see the likeness in Kendra, and while most of the deluxe figures had a bit more of a facial likeness than the regular waves, Kennedy has that cartoony thing going on that some of the regular assortment do. While I believe we shouldn't judge until we have the final product in our hands, I'm inclined to agree with you. Although in my opinion, it's not really Diamond's fault. Kendra had very little screentime and so screencaps were all they must've had to base it on (there wasn't a scan). And much like Clare Kramer, Bianca Lawson looks much more different now than she did in her Buffy days. While CK's face has filled out, Bianca's has become much narrower and more like the figure's. With these probably the clearest images to work from, I'm not surprised she looks a little different. I'm no expert, so I could just be talking complete bull but that's just my take on it! Regardless of the likeness, it's still wonderful that not only are we getting the character at last but we're getting two of the best character likenesses along with her. I think that makes up for a lacklustre sculpt.

i agree in that may 2007 is too long to wait. here we get to hear and see these awsome figures and we have to wait a whole lot of time before they get avaiable, that is just mean.

It's only five or six months... I say let them take their time and make sure the figures turn out right I'm really looking forward to this series!

After Cordy I totally agree with Spike...as impatient as I am for the Willows, I'd rather have great, in-scale WIllows than big and/or bad Willows (which is nothing to do with when Willow *was* Big and Bad, <grin>). Anyway, he also makes a good point: I remember when they were first shown and I didn't think I could stand waiting almost a year for them - and now it's only 5-6 months. That will go by fast, especially with the holidays and new waves to keep us busy...soon it will be just 3 months away...and then before we know it - NEW WILLOWS!!!! Hoorayyy!!! :-)
At least we know the CHosen WIllows will be in scale since they are using the Deluxe female body. Or at least in a scale we don;t have to worry about looking ridiculously large. I have to admit I am more worried/terrified/concerned about scale now than anything else (even breakage!). IMO everything can be fixed but scale. A paint job, part swappage, even super glue - but if they are too dag gone big, then not much can be done with that (short of dremeling the heck out of everything and hoping it looks decent afterwards). I just hope Faith and Dru are okay as well. I would hope DST heard the mass outburst of scale dissatisfaction after Cordy and finally got it down as ULTRA important. DOn't get me wrong, I love DST, I love what they have done for the line (minus Fred and Cordy's size problems) and I love that we have so many figures. But Fred was supposed to be a one off mistake, then Dawn was questionable...and Cordy was outright too huge. I don't mean to beat an old drum, I just want to make sure this point has truly been driven home because I don't want to have to hide anymore figures in the back (especially ones I really wanted for a long long time like Princess Cordy).
Gees, I really didn't mean this to turn into a post on scale, I love WIllow, she's my favorite figure and her new figures look amazing and are ones I've wanted forever as well. I just hope they are all in scale and Faith and Dru are in scale and I'll be happy! Well, hoping Harmony's in scale and any other female and males for that matter! :-)
Come on time, hurry up and pass! I want me some more Willows!!! :-)

I don't know if this has been showed here before. I went on wizarduniverse website and found some more new pics of some of the willow deluxe line from Wizard World Chicago. There one pic that shows white witch willow with crossed legs and holding the sythe with candles around her. Vampire willow comes with Anya'a plate and it looks like Kenedy comes with a bag with some weapons in (hard to see, not sure). Chosen willow comes with a laptop. They look great. Thanks for the link TruMike!!! These look better to me for some reason, even though they must be the same prototypes. ANd it looks like Faith will be too tall - she's the same height as Giles in most of the pics as far as I can tell. Buffy comes up to his shoulder, and Faith sould come up to maybe his nose. But she still looks great - I have got to have Chosen Faith now!!! :-)

Newton I think we should accept that Faith will be as tall as Cordy and Glory. There is a picture in there that you can see a Faith and Glory almost next to eachother...they look about the same height.

So cool to see Willow in the pose! I'll stay on topic and say the deluxe Willows are all looking great, but the likeness on that Kendra is weak... I hoped they'd improve her.
