I was just noticing that they didn't show if "Doomed" Spike was wearing shorts as he was in the episode. I just hope that he is wearing shorts to make the figure more accurate.

Huh.
Seems like some kind of bad joke, but its not.
Really, really, really surprised that these are the figures.
Vampire versions for the two most "standard" looks, some odd Hawaiian versions and equally odd 50's version of Angel.
School Hard Spike is welcome, but I hope he also comes with his leather jacket.
I really want a deluxe Angel, but none of these seem like "classic" Angel to me (eg seasons 1-3 Buffy and seasons 1-4 of Angel). Long black trenchcoat, standard shirt and black pants, its not that hard.
A Not Fade Away variant seemed obvious and easy, yet there is none?
I guess "Destiny" Angel is as close to "regular" as we're going to get?
Seems to me DST have just taken the variant thing too far. I like variants, but I like them to be semi-standard looks, not completely out of place looks/costumes. And I would have liked some "classic" looks. Destiny and School Hard Spike are pretty much Spike's "classic" looks, but none of the Angels ring true for me.
I hope there is a Becoming Deluxe Buffy and Angel two-pack down the line. Or even a "Not Fade Away" Angel and Spike two-pack, otherwise I'll be really dissapointed in how quickly the deluxe line has gone down hill.
Cheers, Haeph.
P.S. Was there any accompanying text for the pictures with respect to jackets and accessories and such?

While I agree the choices are somewhat unusual - I like them! I see what Haephestus is saying about classic looks - and what's even odder is that the classis looks *were* so easily done with the figure releases by simply doing a head (and hand) swap with the Vamp Versions (Just Rewards Spike and Connor Daddy Vamp Angel). I always thought they had neglected releasing such obvious variants (which they always do with any other Vamp faced characters) was specifically to keep the Deluxe line free of obvious competition whenever it would debut. But given the reveal, I'm sort of wondering huh?
Maybe they are saving these classic looks for future versions...obviously we don't want them to release every signature version now - and have the future just odd variant looks, so I guess I'm okay with keeping these still in the future so the line has some "Big Guns" to look forward to. And as I said, it's easy enough (actually, really easy with the ball joints used on the necks these days - tho I had less luck with the hands and left them vampy) to get them, but yeah, I'd prefer "real" ones. At some point! :-)
For now, I think 50's Angel is cool - probably my favorite Angel, while I also agree that Hawaiin shirt Spike looks absolutely amazing, and find his other versions somewhat more of a hit than the Angels. I personally am glad DST went with some unusual choices - I'd much rather have a good mix of figures rather than just the easily predictable to do ones.
Now if I can just get a couple Deluxe Willows, a Deluxe Illyria, and a couple Deluxe VIllans (UberVamp cries out for the Deluxe Treatment!) then I'll also be very happy with Wave 3 of the Deluxes! :-)

I really like the Spike varients they have a good resemblance to James, But the only Angel one I like is 50's Angel. I think Sense and Sensitivity Angel's neck looks too long and I'm not fond of the Destiny figures.

Ah that's what 50's Angel is! James Dean Angel. I was trying to figure out what episode that could be from, 50's left me clueless. What an episode though! These are some great (weird) variant choices. They really fit into some of the wackier things we've been asking for for years. Personally, I'm very excited that they're all so different. It would be easy for them to just do simpler variants with/without coats and vamp/human face. I'm glad they went more creative.

Are You Now or Have You Ever Been is one of my favorite episodes! And I'm pumped about the Hawaiin shirt Spike, and I think the Hawaiin shirt Angel will go nice with him. And first apperence spike, giving us a differnt look then just tshirt or long leather coat.
I'm very pleased with these variants.

GREAT CHOICES! School Hard Spike is perfect for the library playset. ANd I love the personality the Hawaian shirt variants will give to my collection. 50's Angel... ehhh but why not? I'm getting every one. WOw... I just looked at my collection and realized how quickly it is becoming "The Spike Show". After this wave, I am really up for some character variety DST!

The human faced Spike looks like a new sculpt to me. He has a great expression on his face! The eyebrows look darker too.

From what I could make out The text says: Buffy wouldn't be Buffy without spectacular kung-fu gymnastics, so Diamond Select was (this word I can't make out from the pic) enough to create a super-articulated Deluxe line of 6" figures. Wave I gave us Buffy and Faith in a Slayer showdown, so it's only (un)natural that we get Buffy's two Vampire boyfriends with attitude the second time around. The main assortment features Angel and Spike in Vampire mode (from the Angel episode "Destiny"), as well as short packed, one each per case battle-damaged variants. Be on the lookout for exclusive figures of the vamps in their traditional red jackets and feature Hawaiian shirts. What didn't you see Beach Blanket Dracula?
