Anyone else find waiting for these figures utterly painful? I wish we could get them in atleast June but from what I hear and judging on past expirience it looks like we're going to have to wait till August . I've wanted Deluxe Buffy since forever and Bad Girls Faith looks pretty nifty too but god the waiting is unbearable! We heard about Deluxe Buffy waaaaay back and we were thinking by now we'd have her but man....still months to go

I agree too! I hate it when release dates are pushed back, it makes me so mad! What I also don't like is that, even though I like to know what products are coming, I hate when they announce them so early. Then, the waiting takes even longer and it seems like years before you finally get the figure. Hopefully they are getting improvements, and won't get pushed back even farther.

The worse thing is that Wesley and Lorne are coming out July and then we have to fork out for these in August. All I can say is that I'm glad I ain't going on holiday this year.

I feel your pain. Wesley and Lorne have been basically finished for the last 2 months and yet their release date has been pushed back.
It won't be so bad with the Deluxe figures If we know that some changes are being made to them (For example, Faith's makeup), but I have a feeling nothing will change.
I think It's a really bad move because we'll blow all our money on Wes and Lorne and then won't have enough for the Deluxe figures, or vice versa. So In a way, one of the lines are going to be affected.

Yeah I am sick of waiting too.
But for me, the importance of these is like tripled because they are new Buffys. I have been waiting and waiting for a new Buffy ever since Series 2. So yes, I am sick of waiting. August is a hell of a ways away. Why not just make it Jan. 06 while you are at it!

I right there with you. I was so excited to see new Buffy figures announced (and with variants that were always on my most wanted list), I could barley wait to the original March release, but then March became June, and now it August. I know it’s probably the last delay, but still…very annoying.

Everyone is gonna what to shoot me but i don't see what the whole fuss is about the delux figures The buffy heads look great but the bodies look deformed cos of all the articulation especially the hands. The faiths look a bit strange too... But for those of you who are waiting painfully the only reason they will have been delayed is because DST is gonna improve them, so when august comes you will have an even better figure, just hold out

Some of us had unhappy childhoods and this all we ever wanted, alright? I think we're so hung up on these figures because we've all longed for a more solid Buffy, one that stands strong, one that can high-kick, one whose hands won't pop out if she tries to throw a punch and we've been waiting for something like this for about 4 years if not longer. With the other figures, they just look pretty and we can stick em wherever but with Buffy...I mean, she's a hero! She should be the strongest, most outstanding figure and the same goes for Faith, they're fighters. And you're never truly a star unless you have a well-articulated figure, know what I mean? Buffy having odd joints means that she's in the secret club with all those Marvel Legends figures and stuff. F-ck, the "ugly" joints are a badge of honor! They scream "Play with me, I'm your heroine"...okay maybe I crossed the line there...just take it from me, they're the coolest Buffy figures yet.

A little. I guess this is nothing compared to what MAC have done in the past tho so we should be glad of that. I wouldn't care if the delay resulted in DST makin Faith look like Faith (or remotely like a human female! lol), but we know that isn't gonna happen so they may as well rush release these girls. Afteral, the Faiths are going to look rushed anyway....

My biggest fear is the marketing trick of this, i don't like to have variants in my collection, only if they are very diferent like Buffy with a ponytale, like this chosen figure. I don't have a Faith in my collection so i will probably get one too, but as others the problem is the close line between Wes, Lorne and the two slayers. Also other problem is, if i buy this Buffy and Faith and then they will release them with less articulation in a new line, that will be awful, and that will be the marketing trick.

Well I don't necessarily consider it a marketing trick. Afterall, DST knows that the majority of us do buy many variants of characters, so that's not like the villainous plan of the year or anything. Also, the deluxe line is a completely different line than the regular one. Not to mention, I think we can be fairly certain that we'll eventually see Buffy in the regular line, so...where does the 'trick' come in? I don't think anybody's going to buy these under the assumption that they're the only Buffys we'll have a chance to get our hands on.

They are separated lines, but what is the point of have Buffy graduation with less and more articulation, that is my point, or for example end of days.

I can almost garuntee you Diamond wouldn't make the same figure deluxe and regular. I think there is a reason they skipped sigificant episodes like Chosen amongst others in the deluxe line, they're probably saving them for a regular line.

Agree the wait has been a bit much.
If anything it has lessened my interest in getting the figures at all.
I would just like to see some "final" photos sometime soon. Obviously the major change has been in the jackets (which I think is a positive move), but I would also like to see Faith's "make-up" finalised so I know which Faith to pre-order (I want one with the "dark" make-up, because it looks slightly more like the actual character) etc.
I'm kinda hoping part of the delay might be to offer more varaints. I know, I detest variants as well, but none of the Buffy's really scream to me to be "standard" Buffy. I really like the EOD Buffy head and its much more like a "fighting" Buffy so to speak (which is what I want from a super-poseable Buffy), but none of the outfits are very "slayer-wear" (I was really hoping for jeans, black top and black jacket or something). Guess something a bit more "generic" rather than being so episode specific? BUT DST have quashed any further variants.
Still would be nice if they said what it is they're up to, i.e. the reason for the delays. The first delay seemed to be because they wanted to add Faith to the mix (fair enough), but what's the problem now? They appear to have sorted out the jackets, just don't see what else they could be up to?
But not sure how interested I'm going to be come August/September.
It's great that DST give us news in advance, but with Deluxe Buffy it came from Toyfare didn't it and we had a picture immediately and nothing much has changed since that first picture so difficult to see why the delay. Also peeved that Deluxe Spike and Angel have been pushed back to sometime 2006.
Cheers, Haeph.

I think the Faith they were going for was supposed to look like this---- big.supereva.com/gallery/Attrici_Straniere/Eliza_Dushku/dushku-eliza-a001a.jpgAnd actually in the AFX pictures of Bad Girls Faith you can kind of see that and it looks pretty good but they have yet to apply that makeup on the other figures and it's really frustrating to me because it's so simple ;D . I also don't understand why they can't just slap some paint on the figure, mass produce it, and ship it to stores...why does it take so long? It's agonizing! And I totally know it's not DST's fault, it's something annoying and legal. What's funny though is that all of these Fox people constantly are looking this figure over when clearly the actors sometimes don't even see their figure! If Eliza had seen the last figure that came out she definatley make sure this one wasn't dogged up.

Maybe you would rather not have preview pics so early? Then it wouldn't seem like waiting so long.
Personally, I'd happily wait a year if they'd fix Faith.

I don't really mind it at all. I still need to pick up one Anya, and a couple of the Spikes before I'm caught up with everything that has already been released! So having a few months before there's a whole lot more to get is fine by me. And if they are still modifying the final figures, all the more reason to wait. I've waited over 4 years now since Lorne and Wesley were first announced by MAC... I have learned all about patience.

Yeah, I'm kinda glad these are comeing out later. Hopefully that gives DST the chance the adjust the Faith's. The one with the darker makeup doesn't look that bad. They need to make them all like that.
I feel confident that they will be pretty good by release.
