I don't know why... but OMWF Buffy's hair keeps peeling and now I'm afraid to touch it. There are black/grey splatches where the paint peeled and it looks really bad.
I want to repaint it... but I don't know how to get it so it matches her hair and I'm afraid it will wreck it.
Any suggestions?
I doubt I can return it.

I just checked mine. When I bought it, it had a couple of those black/grey spots but now there is more.

I noticed this with Graduation Day and OMWF buffy. Upon taking them out of the package, the hair stuck to the bubble (the paint must've been wet when it was put in) and it has tiny patches now where it came off. It doesn't seem to be doing it anymore but I do understand what ya'll are saying.

Same with mine, Both my Faiths and my OMWF Buffy were stuck inside the bubble, and when I took Buffy out, a few patches of paint came off, which is...disappointing, to say the least

At first, a small peice came off when I took it out, which was fine, it was hard to notice. But now after it has been sitting out for a day some more of the paint has peeled off... It is just the hair, the clothing paint is fine.

My OMWF Buffy has that AND a tear in her bangs! I will have to inspect my other figures and see if they have it to!

Do you guys think it's the heat that's peeling the paint?
It is rather hot...

Could be. But wouldn't it be happening to the other figures as well.

That is true... My Buffy is right beside Darla, and the two have the same rubber painted hair...

It wouldn't be because of the climate. It is because the figure was put into the bubble without drying completely. This happened on my OMWF figures as well as Graduation Day Buffy. I noticed it was worse though on the OMWF ones. Anyone can fix it though, it's really easy.
Just select the right color! Make sure it is a: -water based acrylic, matte finish-
Paint it on, let it dry and voila! Problem solved.

The only trouble I've had with paint is my EOD Buffy, which had its ponytail stuck to the blister. However I haven't had anymore trouble after that, all my Deluxes are doing fine and none have lost any paint. I suspect that if they DO loose paint (in my collection) then it will be from their constant falling over, nothing else.
If this is common trouble then it looks like we've got a problem. But I think CowboyGuy hit the nail on the head - the figure was packaged while the paint was still wet. And like he said - it's an easy fix, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I knew there was a reason I started leaving mine unopened.

My Faith, is perfectly fine. But... the paint on her leg starting peeling... but I fixed it since black is easy to paint over.

Peeling paint, hair sticking to package, arms/legs completly breaking off... I don't think I'll be getting any of these Deluxes. I was going to get just EOD Buffy and Bad Girls Faith, but there are too many problems with them for me to justify shelling out $15 for a faulty figure. Maybe DST should have put the figures to the test a bit more before releasing this series. And have only released like two figures initially to see how they would turn out

I'd say if you want them, go ahead and get them, Spike. There are some problems with some figures, but DST will replace them if they're broken. I've opened several of my figs, and have had no problems at all.

I have yet to have a lim break off, so I would soo go and get them. The are just amazing for Buffy fans and its great to have them for your collection (though... I really wish they would of came with bases...).
