Since Hadley hasn't been on a VERY long time- i think we should just make this a problem section for anybody to give advice to other members. However, some cases turn into arguments and abusive posts that are pointless, nasty...and in my opinion immature so i think there should be a rule page of some sort if it will be open to all members- like a 'advice only' kind of deal?? No?
I mean, i posted a 'ask Hadley' at the start of last year...and she never got back to me (just as well i wasn't suicidal, eh? haha)

What could be call it though? I mean we gotta kinda have a cool name like 'Ask Hadley' but different. We could always just put it as 'Need Advice, Ask Us'

So... 22 Nov. (07) is such a VERY long time?! None did ask her for advice since the last post (2005?!)... it seems like people lost intrest on this section, same with hot seat ect... Who should she give advice if noone is aksing for..and I dont think we should just go ahead and decide what to do...
BTW I wouldn't like the idea of ANYONE is giving their "advice" for my life situation or maybe judging me...further im not really a person who is posting my private problems on a action figure board, and hoping to get some good advice from there...Giving advice to someone takes more then just give an 1/1 description of what you would do. Hadley put a lof of thoughts and feelings into her advice and people seemd to have acess with it.
Anyway my idea... call it the "drama queen section"

If Hadley doesn't want to have this section any longer, for whatever reasons she may have, maybe this could be locked? Ultimately it's up to CBG and her.

I think that Hadley just got busy with her life in college and isn't taking part in the board anymore. After all, she did say she would respond to Afer back in April of 2007 and she never did.
I thought Afer had a good idea for a general advice section. However, given the tone of the some recent personal threads, it might be best to try to avoid personal discussions because of the discord that tends to happen.
Just my opinion.

people lost intrest on this section, same with hot seat I totally disagree. Not speaking for everyone, but the hot seat got repetitive and the concept (which was a great original idea from Second Evil) of the whole thread faded on the members. Again- not speaking for everyone. Advice is something which is always going to be needed. I think its rather poignant to say that members 'lost interest' in other members problems when asking for help/advice?? no? BTW I wouldn't like the idea.....im not really a person who is posting my private problems on a action figure board Thats cool. You wouldn't need to post your personal life for the whole forum to see? Its quite obvious that you would only post your problem...if you felt comfortable expressing your feelings to everyone here. Again i repeat myself when i say 'i don't speak for everyone' but i don't see this forum as just a two dimensional 'action figure forum'. The forum is a place where all members come on to chat and talk about a show which they love, and as you well know, the forum branches out to much more than just action figures Hadley put a lof of thoughts and feelings into her advice and people seemd to have acess with it. Your correct. She is an amazing person who took the time out of her busy life to come on and sort out other peoples problems. So, i think she would want the good karma she has created in this sub-thread to continue to help members with their problems? The fact that you went back to edit your post, just to be negative about the whole thing is kind of pointless and narrow-minded to me. It was a suggestion to continue Hadley's work of helping members in situations where they feel a 'outsiders opinion' would help them. Guess not. As Maria states above, its obviously not the best plan of action to take at the moment.

cute...
Im not negative about it, thats my honest opinion. the last request for hadley was posted on Nov 24, 2005... noone ever posted since then... to me it looks like people lost intrest. Or maybe people are just shy... who knows.

the last request for hadley was posted on Nov 24, 2005... noone ever posted since then... I posted in April 2007 and before that there are a few in August 2006. OK, not the most busy section, but it HAS been in action long after 2005. I think that particular thread was bumped.

No offence to Hadley, but it's hardly like she had a PHD in Psych or anything. I think she was just used so she could be integrated into the forum above normal status. Sascha has a say in customs cause she makes em...thats appropriate. Helping people through problems, or even advising courses of action is not difficult, it's often common sense, and i for one think this section should be opened up, and not be restricted to a forum member whom doesn't participate as much as they used too.

Not sure if this helps, but I am a counselor. I am almost finished with my Masters and then my PhD in counseling psychology. I have a BA in psych as well. I could help out. But only if you guys wanted me to. I do it for a living, might as well help my friends.
