HELP!

Could anyone help? I'm attempting to make Msbig's WITW Fred but have never made a custom before. So, I have a few questions. 1. After you've sculpted on the clothes, how do you suggest getting it to dry? The oven?
2. How should I go about switching Hells Bells ANya and Fred's heads?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Well when it comes to drying Sculpey, I use the oven. Not a lot of customizers do that. Most boil it. I've never tried boiling so I can't give you any pointers on that.
As for switching heads, it makes it easier to remove the heads when you heat them up a little bit. They pop off easier.

Thanks. So I should boil the heads and pop them off and then put them on the other bodies?

I usually just heat them up in the oven. But I think it would be safer to boil their heads just a little bit. The heads should be able to fit on the other bodies.

Most people put on a pot of boiling water and either put the whole figure in, or hold the figure's head in (I put a pot holder on) but just a minute or two.
Using the oven can easily melt the figure. Most people don't use the oven for sculpey on a figure for that reason.

I'm a pro with the oven lol. The only figure I partially melted was my first one. A toaster oven works much better than a huge oven. -Jess

Thanks for all the help. A few more questions 1. When you hold the figure in the boiling water, do you leave the stove on? 2. When you paint, what kind of paint do you use?

Everyone has their different techniques. I bring my water to a boil, put the figure in and turn off stove. Some people let it continue to boil. It's just a matter of perference.
Any type of acrylic craft paint will work, you can find it at any craft store. Don't use enamel ever.

One last thing or so. I did a trial run, and held it to boil for 2 minutes. It was hard and worked, but when it was painted, I did two coats and looked very glossy and sloppy. I credit myself for the sloppy, but does the glossy mean I need to boil it longer?
