I'm currently in the middle of "After Image" (the first book I've been able to read for fun since my eye issue) and so far have been very disappointed. The author writes Buffy's behavior with her mom wrong, and the characters do things so unlike them that nothing seems write. It seems more like a wannabe fanfiction instead of a novel... has anybody else read this novel? I have about 59 pages left and will be posting more comments after I finish -

I have it but I haven't read it. I'm just finishing Spark and Burn.

I'm in the middle. It's ok but far from the best. I agree with you about the Buffy and Joyce thing.

Damn, I was hoping this would be a new start for the novels. The past couple of years the Buffy books have been less than stellar, to the point where I don't even buy them anymore. It's a shame because some of the early books were really fun reads (gatekeeper trilogy & return to chaos). I think that I could write buffy books better than some of the drivel they have been putting out lately.

Make sure to contact the publisher if you don't like the book. They keep putting some of the same authors to work when I know there is at least one that most fans seems to hate. Make sure you let them know whose writing you hate and whose you love!

I finished it - really wasn't a fan. I hope some of the next ones are better.
