The deluxe figures are getting rave reviews, but here are some tips on helping the imperfections:
If the paint feels sticky it means that they didn't apply a finishing coat that dries and seals the paint. This was a problem with a lot of SOTA's Charmed line. They suggested using a little rubbing alcohol on it to fix the stickiness. Try that if you have a similar problem, and let us know how it goes.
Joint tightness can also be a problem with these it seems, so here are some tips: if a joint feels tight do NOT force it to move! Pop the figure in the freezer for awhile, then try carefully moving the joints. This is a tip Marvel Legends fans have suggested (I personally have never had trouble with my collection). I have no idea why exactly this works, but many have reported it a success.
If the joints are too loose, there is less that can be done. Some people here have used superglue on Sideshow joints, and just kept working it while it dried so that movement was retained. I would suggest trying a standard glue first... try to get a little in the joints just so it's a tighter fit.
I hope this helps some people, if you have tips too let us know here!

After initially zero problems, I got another Buffy Grad and Faith Grad in the mail (it was an eBay auction I had one - then saw the same figs + OMWF Buff and EODs Faith in a comic store before I received them - couldn't wait so I bought them knowing I had 2 more dups on the way).
Anyway - my 2nd Grad Day Buffy's left thigh BROKE after I couldn't move it and *gently* tried (I had read the people having breaks but thought they were just doing it too hard - and with that in mind I tried to move it very slowly - and it snapped!!! (this was prior to reading the freezer suggestion).
Anyway, I could see by the breakage that there is a plastic "peg" that connects to the center ring of the "thigh" top that allows the leg to rotate out to the side, sit, etc. In this case, it was very obvious the pain was the culprit as the peg was still stuck in the hole - stuck only by the paint!
So I'd say some of these they break look like they were put together before the paint dried.
Since I already had one, it wasn't a huge disappointment - but I can certainly empathize with those who broke their one and only. Since I got it from eBay, I can't return it, and though I had considered using my comic store receipt, I don't feel right in doing this. Anyway, I love these figures - the added articulation really really make them incredible, and the Buffy likeness to SMG is uncanny - like having my own little Slayer!!! :-)

I have had luck with tightening up figures by throwing them in the old boiling water for a spell. Sometimes that helps...but i haven't tried it with the deluxe figs as i am still too poor to buy em.

Joints sticking because of the paint glueing them together is not an altogether uncommon problem in the action figure world. I've broken many a Marvel Legend becasue of this. Not much you can do, but I always have fun breaking the figure apart and trying to fix it myself (which I succeded with on GD Faith).

I would love to be able to buy the broken figures! I would pay for the heads alone!
